Not all doom and gloom. Was happy the way we rolled up our sleeves after the 1st goal. I fancied us before kick off and still did right up to the pen. I fancied a draw then. Arsenal won't finish in the top 4 this year not a chance. We will get better even though we need fresh legs and ideas. I can't see us getting Bellingham but maybe a couple of others hopefully. We missing mane's press if only Diaz would try and replicate it. Nunez getting better deserved his goal love his fighting spirit.

That's the spirit, John!
Arsenal do have a good chance for top four though. City are certainties and I really fancy Spurs to get in so that doesn't leave much room for any more slip ups from us.
Nunez could take off and that could be massive for us. I've a feeling he's ready to explode. His movement, willingness to shoot and the look in his eyes says he wants to get on with the job.
Maybe it's Klopp's fault for not speaking Uruguayan ?.

You can’t have been watching the same game I was. Only positive was Nunez scoring. We were second best in midfield and our defence over exposed. Man City will be rubbing their hands with glee facing us next week.,

I guarantee we won't finish above Arsenal.

Agreed that there are some positives, chief of which was Nunez in the first half particularly.
Three silly and preventable goals given away and a couple of injuries too.
Half a step forward and two back though.
Gomez did ok and I’m confident he’ll cover TAA well, probably timely to give Trent some time out in any case.
Diaz will be a big miss, Carvalho will get some game time from the bench I’d imagine now.
A bit harsh on Arsenal there, they look top 4 bound to me.

Nunez might well take off but for me attack isn't really the issue, unless you are planning to beat teams 4-3?

If Nunez finds some form he might make things easier for the midfield though. Each area of the field affects the other.
We know we are crying out for at least one midfielder now but I don't think the solution is playing an extra forward and playing with just two in midfield.
If Nunez can worry the opposition then the midfield three and defence might be under less pressure. Firmino, as well as he's done, doesn't get the opposition facing their own goal.
I'm not saying that Nunez doing what we bought him for wouldn't mean we don't to improve the midfield but it might make it easier for the one we've got.

You got out played for pretty much the entire game.

Not surprised Nunez scored cos he has been threatening to score near all season with all the positions he takes up, the runs he makes and the positions he gets into to score. Really happy for him, tho. As for the game, that's the only positive I got. The rest? It's better I keep quiet before I get banned for posting rough stuff.

Nunez scored a goal that was it. In the second half he did nothing (to be honest, other than scoring a goal he didn’t really do anything to jump and shout about in the first half either) . I still have my doubts on him, he just looks clumsy to me. I’m hoping I’m wrong but I do feel he needs to stay central more and not keep going out on the wings where he ie useless.
