I have to say guys and i love this! . curtis Jones is one of our most important players and i bet in jurgens head he is one of the 1st names on the team sheet, he is selfless for the team and brings a lot of security in keeping the ball and winning it back. The mad thing is he has more to offer especially in attack. Its testament that when i see his name in team sheet i feel secure in his ability and trust his role, long may it continue!

Love this post hailstones. I hope real fans appreciate what this lad is doing. I love him as a player. These type of players do the graft with calmness and strength on the ball. This let's our forwards excel hence us scoring at least 3 most games.

If he can stay fit, he's an asset. That has always been the case tbf.

Spot on, Hailstones. CJ has always been my guy come hell or high water. He always had these performances in him and all he needed to do was stay fit and take his chances which he has. Hopefully he, Harvey, Baj and young Doak can keep improving and keep getting better.

Spot on Hailstones, Jones is looking better and better the more he plays, great to see.

Curtis Jones reminds me of prime Adam Lallana the way he's pressing. It was correctly ruled out as offside, but that would have been a classy goal yesterday. There was a point in the game yesterday when I thought he had injured himself, but he seemed to be okay at the end of the game.
Long may it continue. YNWA.

Noski, that is becoming a typial CJ goal going by last season vs Spurs and Leicester. Check out the other absolute banger he scored in this same Leicester game last season. The kid is blessed with immense ability, IMO. Keep working hard, CJ. Keep working hard.

For me what I loved was the passion, he took a whack on the ankle had to get some treatment was waiting ages to get back on and he got back on sprinted straight to the ball and put in a challenge and got it back and back up the pitch was brilliant. he’s always had the quality and I’m happy he’s been getting a good run top lad even better for the fans he’s a local boy.

I get tired watching Jones and Szobozlai. The work those two get through is incredible. Right now they are a big part of why this team is doing so well.

Jones is flying it right now.

Jurgen and the coaches have schooled CJ into the player he is, which is very different to what he was as a youth player.
He really is top notch these days.

It looks like Alexis is going through a process too. God only knows what beast of a player Alexis will be when he's had a few years of Jurgen and co nurturing him.

So it seems that those people who stood by Jones’s potential were right then eh? Good to see the change in attitude on the forum.

I'll hold my hands up WDW, I didn't think CJ could become a first team stalwart. I always wanted to keep him as I could see the versatility and passion and it's great to have scousers in your team.

Practically he is club trained and home grown so a very useful squad player, as well as having the versatility to do a job in a number of different positions. I saw him as the successor to Milner.

However, the way he has started this season he is keeping other players out of our midfield by delivering great performances!

What a great selection dilemma to have!

I have always rated jones but there was a period of injuries and him looking like he was being simulated into something that didn't suit him which made me start to think maybe he wasn't meant to be, but this jones is just perfect . multifaceted midfielder who can do everything got to be a contender for future captain.

{Ed025's Note - it was only a couple of months back hailstones that the consensus on here was that Curtis should be shipped out, talk about fickle, im sure if he has a couple of bad games or picks up an injury that the knives will be back out for him mate, to be fair i have never been his biggest fan but i do like to see youngsters coming through...especially local ones..

Ello ed mate hope you are well, footy is a fickle game but i have always rated jones but didn't know if he was a big time charlie or injury prone but back end of last season he gave me what i needed to see and carried it on, next season he could be out with the bath water but i hope not especially being a fellow scouser. Nice win on weekend for blues garner is a class act and doucore an braithwaite impressive.

{Ed025's Note - hi hailstones im good thanks mate, i think Curtis is winning people over but competition in that midfield is fierce, he needs a good long injury free run in the side if he is to cement his place i feel but we will have to see, but good luck to him i say, good win for us saturday but i have seen these false dawns before, we do have some good players but maybe just not enough so the next couple of league games could be crucial..

He's still a squad player for me.
There's nothing to say he can't become a first team regular but he has to show a lot more than he has done before he is one of the first names on the team sheet.
I can see MacAllister, Szob, Gravenberch and Bajjer all starting before him but it'd be great to see another local lad starting regularly.

Yes ed you have hit the nail on the head there let's hope he is not made of quavers its still very early in his career let's see how it all pans out.

the key for me is to not get too high or too low on anything, anyone etc.

The problem for me with the Jones critique, is that he was being critiqued against the standard of the peak version of himself which he obviously hadn't grown into yet. People do this all the time on here and it is a mind-numbingly dumb way to assess players.

Eds you’re right that a lot of people were skating Jones. I was always in support of him, local lad which I think is important as you know his love for the club and city! But also, I have always felt has huge potential to be a baller. Good physique, can dribble, strike a ball well, not afraid to get stuck in and technically proficient. I never understood the CJ, even as a squad player he is handy to have in the squad!

{Ed025's Note - i was never his biggest fan to be honest MOT, but he has really stepped up this season and is doing very well mate, all power to him i say as you know i love to see local lads doing well..
