For me given Hendersons determination this summer to get into such great shape, he stays above fabinho and thiago. I don't know what will happen, I'm hoping he stays because there's something in the air with Henderson in that he could have a truly great season. We don't actually know if his legs are gone. Hopefully the players are a lot more fit this season.

I don't want Henderson to leave but every player has their price. We got into this situation because we held on to certain players too long. Anything north of £25 million for a 33 year old is worth accepting in my opinion.

There’s arguments for all three, hendo the leader, Thiago the best player technically (could teach mac and szlobo a bit) and fabinho the only natural dm. Still can’t see Henderson going to be fair, can't see klopp wanting that, but if the figures are accurate it’s a madness.

He has earned the right to go get that pay day.
We all love him but he struggles getting through 30 minutes now.

The Athletic and the Mail reporting that he is leaning towards accepting the offer, which is in the region of £700,000 a week. For that money, who can blame him. His style doesn’t quite fit the new system that we want to play. Will be very weird seeing him leave in these circumstances, but it had to happen at some point. I wonder what that will mean for any potential Thiago sale if Henderson moves on.

I think Henderson would be a massive miss if he went. However much he gets criticised as a player, his influence as captain and role model on and off the pitch cannot be underestimated. I’m not sure who steps up into that role if he leaves.

City sold Fernandinho after winning a double and had no issue whatsoever the following season. The team was in a mess and gutter throughout the whole last season and I honestly couldn’t see Henderson nor his leadership anywhere near the pitch.
I would have kept Milner for an year though!

I think it would be sad to see hendo go…he has been fantastic both on and off the field in how he has conducted himself, overcome his critics and social awareness, he is a real credit to the club. But he deserves to make his own choices.

I for one would keep him, and move on Philips, Thiago and matip…. and look to bring in another fast cb and if possible a combative dm/ cm.

Why would anyone wants Thiago to move? He is Leaving for free next year. The boy is perfect for the hybrid system which stress the idea of keeping the ball. Can play anywhere across the midfield three! Magnificent to watch when is on the pitch!

@Gandooosi, The key phrase is "when he is on the pitch". And judging from past seasons, that has been reducing in frequency. I don't deny that Thiago is a great footballer and one of the best passers of the ball we have in the squad. But that doesn't count for anything when he is on the treatment table for most of the season, especially bearing in mind that he is one of the highest earners in the squad. If we can get something for him now, I would move him on.

Think you’re missing the point Gandoosi.

Does that logic applies to Konate @Dracred? He has missed as many as Thiago lately. Thiago was ran to ground.

It will be a sad day when Hendo leaves this great club. Either this summer or eventually.

@Gandoosi, I would say yes tbh. And the same goes for Matip and Gomez, and, when they were still here, Ox and Keita. Ideally, those who are unreliable fitness wise should be moved on.

But seeing as we have more CMs than more CBs, I would say Thiago is considered to be a bigger surplus than Konate.

Henderson's leadership didn't help as much as Mo's goals didn't help.
it's fruitless argument that hinges everything on success. You need leaders through adversity too.
