Question for Ed1 please. Do you think Liverpool will try to revamp CM and the CB's this summer?

Do you think we sell any of Gomez, Matip or VVD?

I noticed on another post you suggested that Trent will likely move to CM. Could Gomez potentially cover RB for the whole season?

{Ed002's Note - I think if you look at the certain departurs of Milner, AOC, Keita and Firmino together with the more likely departures of Carvalho, Kelleher, Phillips and Williams together with perhaps Matip, then consider the roles youngsters could take on, then it strikes me 5 or 6 might be a better guess.

I suspect it is Ed001 you need about moving TAA to midfield rather than me.}

Based on no information at all, I expect 5 (or 6 if Kelleher leaves) to come in.

2x CBs, 3x mids and if Kelleher leaves, a goalkeeper.

We have enough depth in forward areas and at fullback.

Who needs a keeper when we re sign adrian. another 60grand a week for doing bugger all. Wouldn't extend milner for a year and rightly so but then they'll give this dud another year. What a absolute farce. Atleast milner plays his part. When did Adrian last play.

I don’t see Trent moving into midfield, I think he should but most likely stay with our end of season tactics, priority given to a CB with pace who can cover the gaps of Trent moving into midfield play when in possession. I think max 4 signings ( 3 Midfield and 1 CB with Gomes moving on) . Think Klopp spoke directly about Kelleher and stated that he won’t be sold but do expect a loan period with option to recall - Adrian will provide cover ( signed new deal today) . Hoping that our 3 Midfielder signings include a DM like Thuram, obviously MacAllister and then potentially mount or Gravenberch.

Magico he is a reserve goalkeeper. How many reserve goalkeepers clock up too many games in a season? You just need someone half decent who is happy to train well and sit on the bench without kicking up a fuss.

If they have experience and can help the youngsters then all the better.

Why do even care what he’s earning? Your post is the only absolute farce I can see around here.

He is third choice so it is understandable that he isn't playing much. Besides, I think he is helping out more with the coaching than with anything else. The only criticism I can level against him is that he is taking up a non-HG slot that could have been better utilised elsewhere.

His wages is quite high too for a player that doesn't play so hopefully this new contract has brought it down even further.

I would expect a minimum of 2 midfielders and a Centre back. Perhaps a utility player capable of playing across the midfield and defence competently if Trent does move into midfield as I hope he does.

That's just Milner and I honestly can't think of another player who is able to play as many roles as he could. Personally, I think if we are looking at that kind of cover, instead of buying a new player, I would look to utilising the youth team a bit more.

It was exactly Milner leaving that prompted my saying it Dracred, but yes I would be all for using the youth in lieu of a utility player also.
