Ed001 Klopp like Shankly is very loyal do you think his loyalty to Pep is the main reason for his stubbornness to not revert back to how we use to play.
At the moment there is not a team in the league I would have confidence in us beating. In my lifetime I cannot think of a time when we was as poor as we have been this season not even under Roy because at least we was organised all season we have been dreadful and I don't think it has anything to do with who is in midfield no present on the ball but we are still defending so high it is like mishmash of tactics. I can't see us getting anything from the Wolves and can see us getting destroyed by Madrid.
I cannot see Bellingham wanting to join us come the summer.
Ed can you see anyway out of this without a change to the coaching set up.

{Ed001's Note - I think it is more that Klopp thought that this change would take the club onto the next level and now he is stuck between going with it and trying to make it work or giving up on it and going back to what he did before. Neither is ideal.

I still believe Klopp can fix this with the right support. Not from the owners, I mean from the crowd, the fans. He needs to rediscover his intensity but love from the crowd would help and love online too as social media is something that he will still hear about. He needs to know we still believe and that he can turn this around with our support.

The only coaching change I would consider is at assistant level to replace Lijnders. It is clearly not working having him there any more.}

Ed001 We can rely on the fans at home but away will be a big problem as are away form is terrible.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know that we can. There are times they are not that loud and supportive these days.}

Ed001. What klopp did before is what got him to the top. I personally think Pep Linders is being primed to be klopps successor, hence why it seems to be his changes that's causing the bigger issue.

{Ed001's Note - yes he certainly was being prepped for that.}

Ed01, he's still got the love from the supporters, which is all that really matters. If there was to ever be discontent aimed towards him from the stands, that would probably persuade him to consider his position, in my opinion. Like I posted last night, I can't see that happening.

{Ed001's Note - I hope not. He has earnt the support.}

Ed1 - that tension between a new way of playing and the old way is exactly what it looks like make - confusing. Vs Brighton it looked like we downed tools amidst the confusion of who we are trying to be. I agree with your concern for Klopp and I really don’t think he is going to get it from the crowd. I’ve resisted this feeling but it is a growing feeling for me that he may walk at the end of the season. And no that he’d quit cos of results, I just get the feeling that he may see that it’s a massive job that requires more energy and passion than he is either willing or ble to give. Tha will be exacerbated by what will in no doubt be bags of anxiety at Anfield.

{Ed001's Note - that is my fear, that he will walk.}

Ljinders is no Bob Paisley, nor a Joe Fagan.

Actually, he is not even Roy Evans, who would have been so much better if he hadn’t been hog-tied by the Chuckle Brothers (Moores and Parry) .

Some tough decisions for Klopp before the season is over but I still love the man to bits, he has so much credit in the bank. Some of the social media comments are ridiculous, we need to spread the love and he will repay us 10x over.

Linders has clearly shown that as a manager in the Dutch league he failed. Now, as an assistant, shown that he hasn't learnt from one of the best in the business.
To make us work again, we need a change. Now that change needs to be in the coaching of the team. Klopp has mentioned the team are not buying into the tactics, and also stated linders is having a great say in this. Time to move linders on, see the rest of the season to return to heavy metal football!

I can see the benefits of changing the way we play. Playing a slower, possession based game would be advantageous over a long season. But we can't do it effectively enough.
The centre halves, van Dijk aside, look edgy in possession. The midfield looks too slow and uncomfortable in possession and none of the front three really hold the ball up or can drop and link the play.

It always confused me why Wenger changed the way Arsenal played. They had a brilliant team ideally suited to the PL but he decided to play more football. It was only recently that I heard Thierry Henry say that Wenger decided to build a team around Cesc Fabregas. A fabulous player, btw. I know you don't just replace Adams, Petit, Viera, Henry and Bergkamp. They are the types of once in a generation player that you can't just replace like for like but Arsenal became too soft. They lacked fight and leaders.

I can see similarities between what Klopp is doing and what Wenger did.
It doesn't have to be either or when it comes to the way we play but you have to have the players to play a certain way.
We need to sort it and sort it quick.

Has Klopp the cajones to get rid of him though? I don't think he has and that could well be the rock he perishes on unfortunately.

The crowd may not be as loud but you can guarantee that they won’t turn on Klopp either. It’s just not the Liverpool way. I can’t remember the crowd ever turning on a manager or a player even in our worst of times. We are not Everton for goodness sake ?.

Irish Rover, the worst atmosphere I can remember was December 2010, versus Wolves. Hodgson days and we got beat. The atmosphere was pretty bad the end of that game. We never wanted him as manager so he was always on a hiding to nothing.

Might be Irish if the owners actually went to a game.

Ed01, I agree with you. Klopp is a very smart cookie and knows this change has failed. The question now is will he reverse course or stick to it just to prove a point, whatever wretched point that is.

As for Lijnders, he has shown he hasn’t the temperament nor the humility to become a manager at this level and his tactics don’t suit the players we have so needs to go back to being in the back ground like every other assistant on the staff.

As for the support fir Klopp, I ain’t sweating it. The vast majority will NOT turn in him, imo. I haven’t and NEVER will as he has my full support till the very end. And if he walks, it will be a VERY sad day at this great institution we all love and support.

As poor as we are, try getting a ticket for the game.
I’m lucky to have a ticket, trying to get one for my son is really difficult.

Do you personally think he will replace Pep ED001? Because I personally can't see it. Has he ever replace his coach or his assistant before? Buvac decided to quit right rather than Klopp decided to replace him right? can't see him doing what Rodgers did with Pascoe.

Seeing his overall behavior for past few weeks, it does seem like the possibility of him quitting at end of season is high. Since he taking over, I've never seen him so discouraged as right now. That is a big concern since i cannot think of any manager that can replace him.

{Ed001's Note - I have not heard of him replacing an assistant no. I don't think he will either, though this is not really comparable to Rodgers. That was Rodgers best mate Pascoe that he just dumped to save his own hide.}

Maybe the manager needs to actually start doing his job again instead of letting his assistants do it all as seems to be implied on here. It's a waste of a very significant wage if he's walking around the place doing nothing while Pep and company are doing all the work.

{Ed001's Note - he is managing, rather than micromanaging. How is that a waste of his wage? The issue is that he is delegating to the wrong person, not that he is delegating. Do you think Bob Paisley was out on the training pitches taking training every day? There is a reason why all the ex-pros from the time have stories about him being in his office reading the racing post while they trained. Alex Ferguson did the same, allowed his assistants control over training and that influenced the tactical play.}

I always had pity for Hodgson if I’m honest. He was literally the only Liverpool manager to have zero cash. I mean £1 million for Konchesky? Agreed he was on a hiding to nothing and he might have blown whatever money he got but he was in the horrible position of H&G on their last days and FSG taking over.

You are right about getting tickets, Drogie. No matter how poor we are at the moment the demand for tickets is still high.
I'm sure we've sold our allocation for Tuesday as well.

I get your sympathy for Hodgson, Irish Rover. Roy Hodgson was, and is, a nice man. He just took over at the wrong time. Dark days they were.

As someone who goes to the majority of games, the consensus is that we’re all behind Klopp. The frustrations seem to be targeted at FSG’s unwilling to refresh and supplement the squad over the years. Additionally fans support fighting and forward thinking for all. When we’re being outrun, out fought and CL outclassed it filters through to the fans.

I have no doubt that the Jurgen song will be sung in full voice against Chelsea next weekend. I hope Jurgen knows that too.
