Ed’s 001 hope your going to enjoy Boxing Day today, will you get to see any of the sporting extravaganza on the tv today?
With the club up for sale and FSG tooling to maximise their profit from the same, do you see any signings in Jan or do you think they will tighten the purse strings before the sale?
If we got permission for one signing now what would your choice be?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know what is on TV there mate, so I have no idea if I will watch any of it. I am still trying to decide whether to watch us or not. We haven't done well when I have watched us here on a stream, so I might have to miss it again just to be safe.

I don't think it is about tightening the purse strings, more that it is a very difficult time to buy in the top end of the market where we are looking. We need to buy top players and they are usually key to their teams play, so even if the money is there they are not keen to sell in January. In the summer it is easier for them to replace sold players, so much easier to convince them to sell.

Bellingham would be the signing for me. I really want to see him in a Liverpool shirt. What about you?}

I wish we could go back in time and get De Paul. That guys is a Klopp midfielder if ever I saw one!

Same as shughes, eds,
if we could have brought one player whose ship sailed in these last 2 years, which player would that have been? The one we really regret missing out on.

{Ed001's Note - I would have to say Mbappe. I know people will talk about how much he is on etc, but if money was his only desire he would be playing for Real Madrid right now. What he wanted is to join a team that would support his ideals in terms of allowing him to not advertise products he disagrees with, such as alcohol, gambling and junk food. Plus support for his foundation to help disadvantaged kids and other things like that. Could have been done to get him, it would have been a big stretch and a risk, but he is worth it. The best player in the world for the last few years.}

Morning ed1. Would mbappe have come to us? I took it his heart set on madrid.

{Ed001's Note - he is not in Madrid is he? His heart was not set at all.}

You have talk before about how the media is making Mbappe look like a bad, money grabber kind of person before Ed1. The truth seems like he is quite opposite of that.

What do you mean by a big stretch and a risk ED1? Financially or other things? Like a lot need to be done to accomodate him?

{Ed001's Note - financially, we had to stretch to meet Salah's wages. But then you know Mbappe merchandise would fly off the shelves, so it would have been a risk but it could have paid off.}

Mbappe is on a million a week. But I agree the lad would shift plenty gear to pay for it.

{Ed077's Note - the number varies from one report to another but still ludicrously high numbers though.

Mbappe could be at any team he wishes to be at right now, he’s a phenomenon, the closest to the real Ronaldo I think we’ve seen although I’m certainly not putting him up there with him just yet (and probably never) . The speed, physique, finish’s and power, what a player.

Also have to respect players not wishing to advertise things like gambling, I think it’s a blight on football and I absolutely hated seeing Klopp do adverts for it. It’s ruined several players lives and you would think football itself would have self regulated a little better in that regard. The same
Could be said for alcohol of course.
