Sky sports saying matip to join in the summer.

Lfc hopeful

1.) 15 Feb 2016 09:11:54
Did you hear that from "monkey sponge" on Twitter by any chance?

2.) 15 Feb 2016 12:19:00
its in the Echo now too.

3.) 15 Feb 2016 12:25:34
Sakho he literally just said Sky Sports, not twitter. Sky Sports have just released this through there app and SSNHQ.

4.) 15 Feb 2016 12:43:33
Not surprised really because sahko is NOT boss.

5.) 15 Feb 2016 15:12:31
sorry mate I replied to somebody about liverpools interest in Leon Goretzka not about Matip joining Liverpool.

Well done to Trent being on the golden boy list, iv just voted for him. Not sure if it’s a public vote outright or if it runs along side an award made by the paper that runs it, either way he’s got 4% so get voting reds!

Lfc hopeful

{Ed002's Note - I don’t think I would like to be voted “golden boy”. Some sort of very specialist film award?}

1.) 02 Oct 2018 00:09:29
I will leave that to ed25 and your imagination ed.

2.) 02 Oct 2018 12:29:28
Fair play, he wasn't short listed last season but he more that deserves it. A poor game against Chelsea but he has to learn.

3.) 03 Oct 2018 07:22:44
I don’t think you’re on the shortlist ed002 😄.

07 Sep 2018 10:22:12
Not seen ed25 around for while, he ok ed?

Lfc hopeful

{Ed025's Note - yeah im good hopeful thanks, im waiting for liverpool to lose so i can have some input mate....fat chance of that happening though.. :)

1.) 07 Sep 2018 17:24:33
With that in mind Ed25. I hope you stay quiet for the rest of the season 😂😂😂.

{Ed025's Note - i will do if you stay unbeaten redhof, but if we get a draw at your gaff i will be a very noisy neighbour mate.. :)

2.) 07 Sep 2018 19:26:19
Missed ya, Ed.

{Ed025's Note - cheers brover..

3.) 07 Sep 2018 19:33:40
Glad to hear it ed, you’re not too bad for a blue nose.

{Ed025's Note - thanks mate...i think.. :)

4.) 07 Sep 2018 20:46:25
Ed025 is the best Blue nose EVER!

{Ed025's Note - i dont know about that barry, but thanks mate..

5.) 07 Sep 2018 20:49:09
Glad your well mate. Think Everton will do ok this season.

{Ed025's Note - cheers ace, i dont think we will pull up any trees mate but we are heading in the right direction i feel..

6.) 07 Sep 2018 22:31:52
Not a very high bar though Barry 😁.

7.) 07 Sep 2018 21:48:07
The best blue noses are proper scousers, not ones who tell Norwegian jokes when they don’t know where the word scouser comes come, like ED025 who is from either the Wirral or Chester. eh lad?

{Ed025's Note - born in wavertree, lived in mossley hill and now gateacre and have never lived anywhere else mate, but you are right about proper scousers being evertonians, i think we all know that..

8.) 07 Sep 2018 22:30:04
Hey Ed's 025, recent interview with Carol Kirkwood revealed she likes to say yes to new experiences.

Get your glad rags on my man.

{Ed025's Note - thanks for the heads up IDLLK, we would make a great couple me and carol its a match made in heaven, the beautiful debonair sophisticated sex symbol.... and the weather girl.. :)

9.) 08 Sep 2018 06:57:28
Ed25.I’d be happy to buy you a pre match pint in the Lutine before the Derby mate.

{Ed025's Note - i have fond memories of the lutine bell drogie it was my area of work mate, frequented most of the pubs there with the canon and the thirlmere being my favourites, i will try and make that happen my friend...cheers..

10.) 08 Sep 2018 09:00:46
Ed, should make it back "home" next year and will catch up for a couple at flannagans if you're able?

{Ed025's Note - look forward to it burkey mate..

11.) 08 Sep 2018 09:05:37
Don't worry ed25, if we draw against your lot there will be noisy (fuming) neighbours on the red side too.!

{Ed025's Note - you may be happy with a draw faith if we get our new guys firing by then, bernard, mina and gomez could make us different proposition mate and leave you quivering in your boots.. :)

12.) 08 Sep 2018 12:58:33
Quivering 😂😂😂.

13.) 09 Sep 2018 02:01:10
we hardly quivered against the elite of europe ed! you might fare better with an average squad against us at your home on a cold night.

{Ed025's Note - a draw at home would be good as well faith, you see i dont see you losing many games at all this season, liverpool are a very strong unit and even when they were average against leicester they still won which is the sign of a good team, i have said all along that liverpool will win the league this season and i have seen nothing that changes my mind yet mate..

Just looking at the champs league fixtures and I think it isn’t the worst way that those fixtures could have fallen. PSG at home first, well if we win that we’re on the front foot and in a strong position, then the middle fixtures against the theoretical weakest team (I’m not going to pretend I know the 1st thing about them though) but win those 2 back to back and we’re on 9 points and then finish with a home game. They could have fallen worse than that, of course it’s only all on paper but I think it helps our chances. We just have to play the right football on the pitch!

Lfc hopeful

1.) 31 Aug 2018 10:45:14
I don't know what you were trying to say but from what I understand I agree that it is very important to win the first game against psg to set the tone for the overall fixtures coming up.

2.) 31 Aug 2018 10:57:19
Lol Pak same here. No clue what he meant there. We might need to win all the games is what he is saying after all 😂😂😂.

3.) 31 Aug 2018 10:58:19
Sorry if it was a bit of a ramble, I meant starting at home and finishing at home is an advantage I would say, and if we can get off to a flyer and it’s against one of the big boys it puts them behind the 8 ball as well as us getting 3 points. With the middle games, well if they were home and away to PSG you might fear 0 points but against the (theoretically) weakest team it’s a good chance to get 6 and take some pressure off the final game.
I think that’s still a bit of a ramble isn’t it 😂.

4.) 31 Aug 2018 11:04:13
We'll win and top the group quite comfortably imo. I think PSG will struggle against us big time and I also think they'll find it difficult against Napoli. Usually I wouldn't write them off but right now I'm thinking Liverpool and Napoli to go through.

5.) 31 Aug 2018 11:11:55
Hopeful
You do relaize we have some cracking fixtures in the league in between those CL games. Some must win games to keep up the pace with City. I expect a lot of people changing their opinion by end of October and that might include me as well 😅.

6.) 31 Aug 2018 11:14:28
Salah

If PSG doesn't make it to the knockout stage then you could see Jose at PSG by January 😂😂. That squad has to make it to the semifinal at bare minimum!

7.) 31 Aug 2018 12:22:26
I agree Salah. In fact I'm more concerned with Napoli than PSG, and I think we'll finish top of the group.

8.) 31 Aug 2018 13:37:21
For me it's just cool to have the likes of PSG return to Anfield.

9.) 31 Aug 2018 15:06:25
They will all fall at Anfield. I predict 3 home wins and some tough away games, but I expect to Top the group as we are the best team out of the four easily.

10.) 31 Aug 2018 18:52:52
Me too stone mate, Napoli away do concern me but the rest of the fixtures I'm very confident about them.

11.) 31 Aug 2018 19:49:38
I forgot about PSG when I made my Jose/ Bayern for 2019 prediction. Though he did say something about PSG being too much of an easy job. Mind you, he could do with a challenge worthy of his supreme talents right about now. I even heard Snap-on have been commissioned to build him a new house after his latest press conference ramblings.

Anyway (neck wound in), I'm really looking forward to this years Champions League. Last years group was good because it was a Champions League group, which we hadn't had in a few years, but this years is a proper group of tough European teams. I really do want to win, but there is a reason why we all feel the way we do for the big games during the Premier League. We all love a tense and exciting challenge. If we played Maribor or whoever every time it would be boring. Bring on the teams that want to have a go against us. It makes a much more exciting game.

31 Aug 2018 10:21:04
VVD v Mbappe should be a great battle. In previous years I’d have been thinking we’d have no chance, but Kloppo has spent his dosh and moulded a team. It’ll be tough for him but I’m sure all the players are relishing those big champs league nights. Fingers crossed for a fully fit squad and let’s see how we do.

Lfc hopeful

1.) 31 Aug 2018 10:27:55
Mbappe plays on the flanks. I don’t see him battling with VVD. If anything both Neymar and Mbappe would exploit our Full backs!

2.) 31 Aug 2018 10:44:41
I think our full backs will do just fine, harry.

3.) 31 Aug 2018 11:04:06
Then you don’t need to worry hopeful 😅😅. It’s complete ok if a few are worried. People are different as well their perceptions 😁😁.

4.) 31 Aug 2018 11:11:26
Once their teams gets past hendo and fabinho, they'll gave to challenge vvd and Gomez, with our full backs covering them, to then have to go through Alison.

Where strong as an ox dudes. This mentality of a smaller liverpool has to go, we are one of the favourites for the competition. Roma fans voted they did not want to draw us in the group, no revenge at all they really didn't want us or Madrid.

Thag says something. If Roma had of done that to us last year they would of been the first team I wanted to face. Nope they know how much better we are than them and a whole host of teams.

5.) 31 Aug 2018 11:34:40
I would be happy for Gomez to pick up Neymar as he played him really well during the England v Brazil game.

6.) 31 Aug 2018 11:40:41
Definitely need Fabinho to play against PSG. His knowledge of Mbappe
will be invaluable.

Everything aside, would he still fit our style of play or have we moved on from him. We’ve done pretty well without him and sometimes his attempts at worldies drove me mad, although how much of that was trying to catch barca’s eye I don’t know? He’s got quality in his boots though. Did the club wash their hands of him after the way he left?

The thumbs up/ down response to this seems a little insensitive to be honest.

I’ve wondered this myself and asked a few years ago when we built the new stand, ed2 said Anfield wouldn’t be hosting one anytime soon. I’m not sure why, perhaps it was because we hadn’t put it forward. When you say you don’t know if the club have any interest in putting it forward, would there be a reason why not ed? Surely it’s a prestigious thing to hold but no doubt there must be some sort of downside to it?

Lfc hopeful

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea or interest to be honest. Anfield is far more important than any single competition and the prestige of playing there needs no boost. It is not my area of interest at all. Best addressing any follow up questions to Ed002.}

Agree with WY, these things should be awarded (if they really have been deserved) after a sporting career has finished. It’s a little unbecoming to see our MBE’s spitting and swearing and whatever else may lie ahead in their playing career.

I work in a local hospital and can tell you that Peter Moore has made donations through his foundation, perhaps this sort of figure head at the top who is a local boy done good now looking to give back, is one of the reasons why things have started to improve. No doubt a ruthless businessman but a very nice bloke to chat to and I do think he’s a good guy.
