That Amrabat we’re linked to had a right game today. Morocco 1 goal conceded in 4 games and played Belgium Croatia Canada Spain and it was an own goal. Superb defensively.

I see him only as an understudy to Fabinho. But he's in the same age range, and I'd prefer someone 2-3 years younger. It's a bit underwhelming when you go after Tchouameni (who can play both DM and CM) and then settle for Amrabat.

First time i'd ever seen him play and he looked very good. Powerful, incisive, aggressive etc. Apparently he was playing on painkiller injections as well.

It's very hard to confidently judge a player on 1 International game though.

So, we’ve gone from Tchouameni, to Bellingham, to Caicedo, to Rice all the way through to “any old mediocre player from a mid table side in Serie A”.

They show Serie A games on BT Sport, so have seen Fiorentina a few times. He didn’t stand out as a player worth taking a punt on. Haven’t watched the WC, not interested and a good World Cup performance means nothing. If we sign him on the basis of his performances for Fiorentina, then I’d be surprised. All I can think is that given Julian Ward’s next employment is allegedly at Man United, this must be some kind of industrial sabotage on his part to burn millions of pounds we’ll never get back.

Also, if he’s having to have injections in his back to get him through the tournament, surely that should be a huge red flag given how many weak and injury prone midfielders we’ve got littering the squad.

Imagine vvvv being your manager, anything less than Messi and you’re terrible, injury record anything less than Inaki Williams and you’re injury prone, and he’ll know before you get there because he’d have watched you play 100s of times before, like he has every player ever linked to Liverpool.

But isn’t interested in the World Cup, when said player is bossing De Bruyne, Modric and Gavi back to back. Convenient ?.
