Everyone’s talking about needing a creative midfielder, but don’t we have those in Elliot, Fabio, Thiago and Jones?

Do we not want someone like Declan Rice?

Thiago and Jones a couple of weeks away and Carvalho is available for selection now but hasn’t started a game for us in midfield.

Personally I think Hendo is Fabs understudy for the year, Carvalho is looked at as a forward and not midfielder and Jones might not be any further up the pecking order If we do sign someone. I see whoever comes in as Nabys replacement and Naby leaving.

Not a single mention of him by Klopp with regards to his injury and it was said on Sunday he would have a scan and know more on Monday. The scan must be in the post with a 2nd class stamp.

I do not think Declan a rice is good enough for a top club has proven nothing and is in a team that lose week in week out for West Ham and England. For me he is very much a europa league level player and over hyped because he is English. £100 million is a ridiculous fee also for such an average footballer. I don’t know who we could get in and I doubt we will but If we where looking it would be around the £40 million mark no higher. Hope we get to enjoy a victory today our players and fans could do with a much needed boost.

Sorry ScouseNouse, but my wife is a WH fan and I watched Rice most weeks. He is quality and the ideal Hendo replacement with an actually more well rounded game. He’s 23 and still has 5 ulyears before hitting his absolute peak.

He often stands out in average England midfield too.

As it stands, the first choice midfield is Fabinho, Thiago on the left and Henderson on the right.
That combination of players works well.
Fabinho’s cover is Henderson and Milner.
Right midfield cover is Elliott, Jones, Keita, Ox and Milner.
Left midfield cover is shoehorning one of the above in.

My preference is to add a versatile midfielder, but one with good mobility and physically, Bissouma / Bellingham / a Momo-type even.
Unless Klopp is going all Man City on us, I’d like to see more pace and energy brought in.
The midfield that won the PL would have won the London marathon, no one could handle the all round pace of that team.

Won’t Rice move to another London club . or even Citeh sooner or later.

Man Utd would want him but doubt he would want to go there.

We ain’t going to get 25+ games out of Thiago hendo ox and Keita a season we I’ll nvr have all our mids together! I think we need some engines in the middle like other posters have said physical strong and not injury prone!
I hope we bring some in let’s see what the scouts have scouted!

I'd love to see Declan Rice at Liverpool. That would be a great signing in my opinion. Really solid footballer.

How many goals does our midfield contribute. I would say, one of the least amounts in the PL. When our front 3 are closely marked out of the game, we need a midfielder who is capable of scoring.

Personally would love it if we signed Declan Rice. Think he’s class. Just can’t see it happening though.

Rice is quicker than he looks as he has an awful running style, looks like he’s got a 4 by 4 plank up the back of his shirt.
Some team may pay well over £100 million for him but I don’t think Liverpool will, better value out there surely.

Totally agree that rice could be the Henderson replacement. Future England and Liverpool captain ?.
