Thanks pal, my only critiscism is that you need to be more critical of the players and outline their failings and faults at times. I know you're trying to put some positivity out there for your team though so I understand trying to lift the mood in the Chelsea camp.

I'd have to say, Courtois has been awful this season.

Good read but I must I feel you're giving your players too much credit. I'd say your top quality players are - Courtois (at his best), Azpi, Christensen, Kante, Hazard. Fabregas hasn't been great this season, as Zola says, cannot play in a midfield two and it's difficult to accommodate him so I feel he's a luxary player. Alonso is a strange one, nowhere near being a world-beater but his attacking contributions make him important for you. Rudiger I'd need to see more of. The rest of your players either fall into the good category (Morata), squad player category (Giroud) or poor player category (Drinkwater, Cahill a few of them) for me.

For what its worth, a review is supposed to have the good and bad. I'm not a massive ffan of the "x-player was great but. " kinds of reviews that flood these pages. Good read.

Decent read but I feel you're being far too kind to some of your players and overstating their quality. Willian is a hard worker but in terms of actual quality? He is, like Pedro, very hot and cold, and those sorts of players impact games negatively when not on song. Fabregas is the same and one of the most overrated players of all time - he does have an excellent passing range but he is slow, and does not work hard enough from what I have seen of him. I'm surprised you have praised Gary Cahill who is the epitomy of average and a mile away from the quality Terry offered. I think the issue for you's is you want to see attractive football but have a manager in Conte who prefers a more defensive style - and when that's successful no one cares - you's were very hard to beat last season - but because it hasn't gone as smoothly this season there are lots of criticisms being thrown about.

I think ultimately you recruited badly and didn't really improve your first XI in the transfer market - pretty much every other club did, and that has left you lagging behind last seasons very high standards. Morata has, let's be honest, flopped - 60mil for a striker who cannot score - it might just be a confidence thing or it might just be he isn't really suited to the Premier League, those things can happen. Bakayoko has clearly struggled in Conte's system and Zappacosta, though not bad, has hardly elevated the side either. I think for all the top teams year on year improvement, in terms of the first XI and the squad, is an absolutely necessity. Failure to do so leads to falling behind - Arsenal have discovered this, United have discovered this (though splurged unreal amounts of money on players - and still have Mourinho complaining it isn't enough! ), We (Liverpool) may experience this should we have a poor showing in this summers transfer market. Spurs are also in a similar predicament in that they never really improved their first XI in the summer and have subsequently failed to reach the heights of last season. Chelsea have suffered because of this and because this season isn't going to plan Conte's defensive approach is now under scrutiny - slightly harsh when Chelsea fans were delighted to scrape hard fought 1-0 wins last season.

Ultimately you need to recruit better. You's do also have one of the best systems of terms of youth, forward planning and development - Christensen has shown how successful it can be and perhaps this another way you can improve the quality of the team. Hard to say though and, as ED001 called ages ago, Conte will have a strong initial impact but fade badly over time, it appears that is what's happening at the moment. I'd expect Conte to be managing Italy again by the summer to be honest.

Lemuel - bit harsh on some there, what's Drinkwater done to label him a bad player? Based on the last 2 seasons he'd walk into our midfield over Milner and Wiji, probably Can as well this season.
