Ed002 with us after Lavia before Fabinho left and with no plan to sell this summer now he has gone do you think the club will look to add another Dm in the future. I can't see Endo as much of a long term plan but if we do add another he could be like Milner for the squad with being able to fill in a few places.
I do think the prices this summer have been a little over the top especially for players with premier league experience. The price quoted for andre trindade seem a bargain compared to doucoure.

Perhaps if Bajcetic were to not be given a chance and leave Liverpool could look to another - that depends on Klopp of course. Would Bajcetic be that versatile CM player? He do play a lot alongside Fab last season and look better than playing as a lone DM. Then perhaps we could look to a more proven 1st choice DM and Endo could become a squad player instead like Milner being able to cover few positions.

Why do you think recruting a pure DM would be a mistake, Ed002? You don't see the use for him, or you just think the time and money can be better utilzed?

Bajcetic is not a DM. I view him as part of a double pivot with a destroyer alongside to give the ball to him and let him play. He is more an alonso/ Thiago player and we need a mascherano type alongside him. Would view him as the CM cover we need and should be going for another primary DM who can cover CM if needed not the other way round.

Just because Bajectic has the vision to see a pas, ability to perform that pass and good in tight spaces doesn’t mean he’s not a DM. He played his entire youth career as a CB and having those abilities probably makes him the best suited player we have at being a DM, based on my not knowing much about Endo just yet. I remember him ‘destroying’ plenty during his short run in the team last year before his injury.
Alisson scored a blinder of a header a couple of seasons ago but he’s not a striker is he?

Bajcetic in my opinion looked ready to be a regular in the team. I’m not sure there’s need to panic buy Elliot came on against Newcastle and looked good endo needs a bit of time with the team the new lads look good and it’s only been 3 games. Thiago I know has had a lot of criticism on here but if he’s fit he is world class. Gomez looked good and is still only 26 I believe so in summary macca szobo endo Elliot Jones bajcetic thiago 7 players 3 places. Up top looks good just imo light at right back. Gomez and Trent but I’d prefer to see gomez as cb vvd konate matip quansah I like seeing youth coming through with the experience of vvd Thiago Salah on the field. Also if we had another right back Trent can be a cm option. My opinion squad looks good matip who I think is great needs replacing and we need a rb maybe dm cover maybe. But I think that’s greedy. Also I think early days but szobo looks like a special player.

That’s a grown up response to a realistic appraisal of our squad.

We have, and always have had, a blend of our and our specialists and a mix of multi-use players.
We have a good mix right now.

I'm really surprised some fans don't see Bajetic as a DM, and someone said he was 'no 8'.

He's a pure DM through and through in my eyes, and that's where he'll play this season. I'm excited for him, Szobo, and Mac to play together.

Bajcetic is a kid learning his trade, klopp will play him in different positions until one fits both the team and the player long term. It's far too early to place a label on him as either a 6 or an 8.
Take trent for example, he was a midfielder then broke into the first team due to a shortage of quality in the right back position. Elliot was predominantly a winger in his Fulham days and again predominantly at rovers.
These are just kids who need time to develop without the pressure of being labelled one way or the other. Baj will at some point have a dip in form so to put the pressure on him as being a first teamer it will just knock his confidence. He, along with Tyler morton, quansah, Gordon Doak and all the other kids with potential need to be given the time by the fans and in turn the media who let's be honest, after a handful of good games start with the call up to the international squads.
There's so little patience these days. I remember Wayne Harrison signing for us from Oldham and he was going to be the next Ian rush, too much pressure on the kid from the off and it ended up a terribly sad story for that lad. who else remembers him?

Bajcetic. when i was 18. I hadn't had a beer. Wasn't comfortable in my own skin. My mum was my hero. Acne, fashion. the right words, standing normally. back off people, give the guy a break. let him grow! . I am probably over sensitive about allowing kids to be kids and find their own mojo.

I’d love for us to get a top top CDM given how much pressure we put on that position with our style of play, and then we can let Endo be our Milner/ Super sub.

As for Bajcetic, he’s a fantastic talent, but he’s still a young kid so we should ease him in, just like Man City did Foden. Bajcetic should still be able to get plenty of time, as he’s very capable at either 6 or 8, and playing him slightly further forward is a far better option than using Gakpo there (who is an out and out forward IMO) .
