I'm hearing that citeh are looking into the signing of coutinho. Brodg is looking at sturridge to play with vardy and klopp is more than willing to wait until he has seen what the youngsters and loanees I. e grujic, Wilson can bring to the team during pre season. There will be no new left back as it stands due to Lewis developing well however this could all change should milner leave and Lewis no show enough during pre season. Klopp is looking at an experienced gk so as to help the youngsters along and also to be happy with a secondary subs role. Matip will be going as he is not reliable both from an injury and playing perspective. Again his replacement could well be Phillips but ginter, and another the young centre backs are being looked at by Edwards.

1.) 13 Mar 2019 18:48:27
Sounds about right but I'd be surprised if Coutinho went to City. I'm not bothered if he does mind, let them have him! but I can't see it happening personally.

2.) 13 Mar 2019 18:58:06
Not aimed at the OP at all, but whatever happened to the bloke that was apparently ITK last transfer window and was always saying he told us about this signing and that signing?
Sorry i can't help more. i think he was a troll in the end. god what was his name. was it firminhos teeth or something like that.

3.) 13 Mar 2019 19:04:19
That's the boy Sandon. Firminosteeth. He was a cracker!

4.) 13 Mar 2019 19:12:12
Salah I could see citeh looking at it depending on price as he would fit their style of play and regardless of what he is like as a person he is a class player. Anyways, onwards and upwards redmen, I just thought I'd share what I'd heard is all. Come on lads, let's get it done tonight YNWA.

5.) 13 Mar 2019 19:12:54
Lol I'm guessing he got banned or gave up speaking bullsh*t?

6.) 13 Mar 2019 22:13:51
You'll all swallow those words when we sign dembele.

7.) 13 Mar 2019 23:07:04
Theres 5 dembeles for every position these days.

8.) 14 Mar 2019 03:25:53
No! I can’t see Coutinho in any other premier league team than us.

9.) 14 Mar 2019 09:52:19
We don't want him back at Liverpool VakPa, we've done miles better since he left lol why would we want him back?

His behaviour was enough for me to say sod him, he's not welcome at Liverpool. If he had a little respect for the club I'd of understood some saying they'd have him back but he didn't therefore he can bugger off. He's not the be all and end all, never was and never will be. Since he left we've seen Firmino up his game massively, I know who I'd prefer in the team and it's not that little turd.

10.) 14 Mar 2019 10:04:24
Couts in a swap deal for Jesus or Pogba?
Nah I can't see it, I'm guessing his wife has been to Manchester and would be against going to United or City. Bayern or PSG much more likely imo.

11.) 14 Mar 2019 11:14:01
Salah i know we are doing great without him but having him as an option to rotate with Mane and to be able to play in middlefield with his dribbling magic pass will be perfect. He knows the way we play and have friends here he won’t need time to settle down. I know the way he left was disappointing but he did it to get his Dream i can forgive him. that's the way sometimes in today’s football to get what you want VanDijk did it .
Now Coutinho is struggling in his Dream club if we take him back he will try to win us back and gives us his best years. I hope we get him if possible i can't see other player better than him who can play lw am cm rw for us.

12.) 14 Mar 2019 11:35:25
am i mistaken but didn't Firminosteeth have multiple accounts? it may be im totally wrong and imagined it though. just thinking has he got a new name again.

13.) 14 Mar 2019 13:05:22
VakPa, I believe Coutinhos best buddy at LFC was Moreno and Bobby (his compatriot) didn't really associate with him outside the club or live near him.

As for Firminosteeth, him and his alias's are best forgotten. I'm sure the Eds could remind us but have better things to do like breathing and dreaming of last night, especially Ed025!

14.) 14 Mar 2019 13:58:24
I can assure everyone that I have NO connection to ferminosteeth. I was merely passing on some 'rumours' that I had been told. I thought it was something of interest and open for a discussion on the rumours page. Apologies if I have offended. I have supported lfc for over 35 years asking with my dad and grandad so I have no ulterior motive for being on this site other than engaging with fellow Reds.

15.) 14 Mar 2019 22:33:26
I never understood the logic of those that think we’re a much better team without Coutinho and then go and pronounce that Fekir or suchlike will be a great signing?

16.) 15 Mar 2019 12:58:51
Because most fans are fickle The Juicer, pride and ignorance comes in the way of their better judgement. Salah was right when he posted we did better without Couts ; its most likely a coincidence, and I personally think we could've done even better with Coutinho in the team, he could've turned these draws against Leicester and Westham into wins . we will never know and I am very happy with the team we have now and grateful that we had the likes of Coutinho and even Suarez played for us.

17.) 15 Mar 2019 13:19:42
I don't get why "rumours" (no matter how outlandish or improbable they may sound) get so savagely put down or attacked on this page now. Wasn't this site built on rumours?

People seem to be far more tolerant of differing opinions on lineups, tactics and strategies and everything else, that all of us seem to have. Doesn't make sense to me. 😵.

18.) 15 Mar 2019 19:43:09
ArAy1969 I love a rumour, but in the form of 'my mates a realtor and supposedly has been asked to move in so and so', or the days of the Babble Copter. Genuine rumours that tended to have some truth in them, or at the very least some novelty. Its more the nature of the rumours.

Rumours based on the principle of randomly picking a player and linking them to a club get tedious. Especially when they're just rehashing's of nonsense made up by gossip columns.

19.) 15 Mar 2019 22:30:29
Eamonsf I understand your point but I can assure you my information has not come from any gossip column or bored twitter user I did intentionally leave out how I came to learn of this information as firstly I didn't want to provide details of where the information came from as it would not be fair on the person it came from as I know people would then continually squeeze for more detail and more proof and secondly I do believe it made sense when I assessed the information prior to deciding to place it on this site. I fully appreciate the eds, as busy as they are so not wish for every bit of gossip, rumour or story however I thought it was a valid bit of information open for debate with a valid basis. Again I apologise and note that a lesson has been learned in the process.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City has made no approach for Coutinho. They are looking for an AM player and have three they have identified - Coutinho i not one. I don't see that changing.}

20.) 16 Mar 2019 05:37:27
United fan in peace.

For what it’s worth I don’t see coutinho back in the prem, there’s no way city or united would spend what he’d cost on him, and as much as I hate to admit it, your first choice front line is more than good enough to blow a hundred mil on coutinho who would expect to be first choice. You’d be better off using that money for a versatile defender and a couple of up and coming mids/ attackers. So unless arsenal or Chelsea decide to spaff nearly all their budget on him there’s little chance we’ll see him in the prem again.

21.) 16 Mar 2019 08:30:52
Agree with Pogbas Hair (never thought I’d say that 😂) .
Coutinho’s playing and financial values don’t match up at present.
If he moves, perhaps it’s PSG or a Bayern re-boot?
I still think that he’d fit like a glove for us but he severely p’ed off Klopp at the manner of his departure from Liverpool and he won’t be coming back from that.

22.) 16 Mar 2019 08:31:04
Has Ginter been playing more DM than CB?

23.) 16 Mar 2019 10:40:44
Fekir 55-60m Werner 55-60m Brandt 25-30m B. Fernandes 55-60m Aouar 55-60m
How much Coutinho should cost to be ok? He is better and proven in the premier league can play RW AM LW LM CM.
26 years old for me if 55-60m is ok and maybe we can negotiate a better deal because they owe us money deom the transfer.

24.) 16 Mar 2019 23:11:54
Firminosteeth is just a poor parody of Alan’s Barnet! 😂😂.

14 Feb 2019 20:02:27
OK, so my cousin is studying sports science in holland and one of the lecturers also works for ajax and whilst having a natter Inbetween learning it was dropped in that the lecturer had been involved in discussions about the medical history of our very own marko grujic with a view that the powers that be in ajax gathering a detailed file on Marko to fill the void left by de Jong in the coming summer. Now eds, with us clearly in need of a centre back that can add competition and depth to this area would it not be plausible for a cash and player exchange. I cannot see Marko being a long term klopp player as his profile is not that of a pressing player but I believe he would be perfect for ajax as a de jong replacement and we should be able to command decent value with his consistent performances so far this season. From his point and his father's, who Ed 1 has alluded is a bit of a pain when it comes to pushing his sons needs ahead of thst of the teams, they would be happy with the regular game time he would get. Any word on the grape vine would be appreciated regarding this subject cheers eds?

{Ed001's Note - exchange for who?}

1.) 14 Feb 2019 21:42:43
I think he means De Ligt.

{Ed001's Note - even if Ajax could be persuaded to sell him, when they no longer need money, why would we want him? I have not seen anything special about the lad at all. Looks ok like, but he is not worth spending huge money on.}

2.) 15 Feb 2019 00:28:15
Sorry my bad, yes I did mean de ligt and it just seemed to add up with us needing a centre back to replace one of matip or lovren and the fact grujic would be likely to leave. Thanks for your response Ed and Jones Red, much appreciated.

3.) 14 Feb 2019 23:01:13
No offence at all Ed001 but you didn’t want us to sign VVD and that worked out fine. MDL is awesome.

{Ed001's Note - no offence taken but he is not awesome. As for van Dijk I gave my reasons for that and it was not a lack of ability to defend unlike de Ligt.}

4.) 15 Feb 2019 00:01:35
Agree ed001. I think in Gomez we have one of the best cbs in the league already given his young age. If we were thinking of going for a cb alderweireld be my choice. 30 yes but knows the league, decent price and excellent quality. Had his fair share of injuries and so has Gomez but plenty of games for 3 top cbs to keep them all happy.

5.) 15 Feb 2019 07:35:19
This is another one of those classic cases of someone who’s hyped and everyone goes along with it. I call bullsh@t that the amount of people on here calling him awesome watch anywhere near enough eredevise football to have that opinion. I bet a lot play Fifa and FM but would never admit that’s why they pine for him.

{Ed001's Note - I agree mate. I wouldn't have watched him if I hadn't heard all the FIFA and FM types slaver on about how great he is. When I watched him he was average on the best performance, but there were still commentators talking up his performance online. Then you read on and those commentators had actually watched a different game that night!}

6.) 15 Feb 2019 08:31:40
Actually Ed001 pointed out VVD have stroll through the game and not making any efforts. He didn't mention about his technique or ability.

{Ed001's Note - I did mention his technique and ability, I said they were top class. It was purely his strolling through games that bothered me. There were far too many games he would get caught out upfield walking back etc. Since he has been with us he has only done that a few times.}

7.) 15 Feb 2019 09:21:17
Saying we need another CB what's happened to Nathan Phillips he was doing well and was on the verge of the first team I believe.

8.) 15 Feb 2019 10:28:50
I remember seeing Nat Phillips play alongside Joe Gomez in the U23s. While he was not as quick as Joe he was more dominant in the air, was comfortable on the pall and ha a decent range of passing. It would be a shame if he doesn't get an opportunity to show how he would fare at a higher level.

9.) 15 Feb 2019 10:42:57
Problem with Nathan Phillips is that he has suffered through injuries, last year was his back and this year one of his ankles which required surgery. He is suffering like Gomez did.

10.) 15 Feb 2019 21:44:47
I remember when Ed1 had his opinions of VVD and nobody can argue with them if they saw him play, 100% correct. I think the majority would understand why he was concerned about him. I was and at the time he was made out to be the best defender on earth and he simply wasn't, anybody who paid attention to VVD would've said the same things. Luckily for us, he's improved dramatically.

As for De Ligt, I've seen him play about twice and didn't really pay attention to him so I can't have an opinion but I trust what Ed1 is saying, therefore it has to be a no go imo.

Young Gomez is quality and will only improve, if we go and get in a big money CB then Gomez is sent to the bench. If that was to happen he'd probably want to leave and who would blame him? He needs to be first choice, we have other positions to strengthen before bringing in another CB.

11.) 15 Feb 2019 20:01:08
Ed001, I meant there is no problem with his ability or technique in the profile you mentioned.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok cheers.}

12.) 17 Feb 2019 09:49:08
I watched VVD for Saints when he played us and for me it was clearly a case of lack of motivation. Pretty disgraceful if you ask me with the wages these guys get but there you go.
He had absolutely everything in his game, strength, speed, anticipation, good in the air and could tackle. In my opinion he was the best current defender I had seen. He just seemed to have given up before kick off.
I usually get players wrong but I knew VVD would be a class signing.

Long time since my last post but I have been an avid reader. Eds, just wanted to thank you for all of your work in correcting and enlightening us fans. Just to throw my two pennies worth in I'm hoping we get thuram, van de ven and gravenberch. I think with the outgoings we could easily afford these with regards their initial wage demands the only problem I see is the home grown quota but then I guess we could always do what citeh and Chelsea do and disregard all rules for a level playing field.

1.) 26 Jun 2023 21:34:33
What out goings? Bring in 80m?

2.) 26 Jun 2023 22:33:08
Jay I think if you take in to account the wages of naby, ox, fermino and Milner plus others who may leave I believe their saved wages would cover the initial wage offers for young incoming players, as has always been under fsg, they try to provide incentivised contracts which dependant on the success of the player dictates what terms are offered for contract renewals. I also believe their clubs would not want outrageous fees which again would be a positive for the more prudent owners. I like the way fsg run the club and, I know, sometimes they hide behind klopp with his soundbites about being happy to wait for his ideal target or not feeling there's value in the market and any other reasoning provided by klopp. But these owners have no question marks over them regards human rights issues, there have been no issues with our debt like the previous owners/ cowboys plus what they promise is coming to fruition, look at our stadium, the new training ground, the recent purchase of Melwood. The infrastructure they have put in to place cannot be faulted, of course every fan wishes that we could do a citeh and go buy whomever but that just isn't Liverpool is it. What we gain is worth double due to the way we obtain our wins and trophies.

3.) 26 Jun 2023 23:37:11
“ no value in the market “ wasn’t that the same “sound bite “ fergie used in his last few years at utd?

4.) 27 Jun 2023 09:18:12
Gravenberch is OFF. The guy expressed his desire to stay at Bayern and succeed.

Brilliant news for us. He's just not good enough!

5.) 27 Jun 2023 19:28:22
Red Bird, he’s prolly saying that to cover his bases should a move not materialise so as not to have the Bayern fans come after him should he have to stay. Just my take.

30 Dec 2018 00:05:12
First time poster so please be gentle, firstly, eds, thank you so much for the time and effort you put in to this site. Secondly, happy new year to all football fans and msy you all have health and happiness in 2019 and now thirdly, what a result, yes there were faults to pick at but we played a team with a lot of positives and we over came the early set back. Let's keep going, next game is all we need to worry about and see where we're at come April. Pressure does funny things to people/ players. Fermino's second reminded me so much of one of Barnes memorable goals in '87 against QPR the way he weaved in and out of the defenders. Fingers crossed big virg stays fit, such a plus but the team seem to work so well as a unit that changing personnel doesn't upset the performances as used to happen previously.

{Ed0333's Note - welcome to the family. It’s a pleasure to have you. You’re right VVD staying fit is paramount to this title charge.

1.) 30 Dec 2018 00:24:30
Welcome mate, happy new year to you too, I hope it's a great one for you!

2.) 30 Dec 2018 01:14:57
I thought the second and third goals were things of beauty.

3.) 30 Dec 2018 02:28:50
One thing I really Klopp will improve on on the next game onwards, is how the team looked a bit sloppy for the first 10 or 15 minutes.

I understand that probably the team is just trying to build up a certain momentum for the game, same as the opposition who needs to build theirs as well.

Ah me and my wife really started to believe. Please this year please.

4.) 30 Dec 2018 02:38:33
Agree, we Have 2 players that would be in the worlds first 11 but VVD is the key. Opposition don't even challenge him anymore as they know he will win it so go for the 2nd ball instead, and we snap at that or the next pass then away we go. Magical tonight.

5.) 30 Dec 2018 03:35:18
I think Allison staying fit is the bigger deal. Him screaming at Lovren has retrained the lad into defending.

6.) 30 Dec 2018 04:02:47
Allison and VVD stay fit and I think we’ve got an unbelievable shot at this.

Bajcetic is a kid learning his trade, klopp will play him in different positions until one fits both the team and the player long term. It's far too early to place a label on him as either a 6 or an 8.
Take trent for example, he was a midfielder then broke into the first team due to a shortage of quality in the right back position. Elliot was predominantly a winger in his Fulham days and again predominantly at rovers.
These are just kids who need time to develop without the pressure of being labelled one way or the other. Baj will at some point have a dip in form so to put the pressure on him as being a first teamer it will just knock his confidence. He, along with Tyler morton, quansah, Gordon Doak and all the other kids with potential need to be given the time by the fans and in turn the media who let's be honest, after a handful of good games start with the call up to the international squads.
There's so little patience these days. I remember Wayne Harrison signing for us from Oldham and he was going to be the next Ian rush, too much pressure on the kid from the off and it ended up a terribly sad story for that lad. who else remembers him?

Haha well with what we're doing in the transfer market I think it's not too far wrong as we'll be bin dipping for scraps after minamino's dad joins, fair play for the comment, made me chuckle at my fat fingered typing prowess.

Surely it's a left food centre back lfc need. Isn't quansah right footed. In a back four you can have two righted footed players like vvd but if this back 3 tactic is staying then I don't understand why we didn't push for van de ven or inacio who had just signed a new deal with sporting. Schuurs is right footed and not the quickest so doubt he would be able to cover left back with the running requirements klopp would surely need. There's the brazilian at zenit but i cannot for the life of me recall his name,
he's 6ft plus, fast, composed, good in the tackle. Think his name is renan or similar.
Koumetio needs a loan and quansah's position in the squad will be very limited unless matip or gomez leave.

Apologies Ed, i have recently read that due to Chelsea not competing in any eufa competition ffp doesn't effect them. Only the Premier league rules. John henry shouldn't play big money games i. e buying a club if he isn't willing to play by the big money rules. Simple, he cannot scrimp and steal players hoping to get a good deal when clearly so many other clubs are happy to give the selling clubs asking price. as you say ed, Moving on.

{Ed002's Note - FFP still applies to Chelsea, they are not exempt from it. P&S rules still apply but it is not related to transfer spending.}

Just playing devil's advocate but maybe Liverpool were fully aware of chelsea's ffp issues and so made the bid for mc knowing that would then take Chelsea to their maximum expenditure by making a better offer. Hence their delay in offering a better deal, and then pulling out of the tyler adams deal.
Which in turn would prevent Chelsea from being able to then exceed any offer we place for lavia.

{Ed002's Note - What FFP issue is that? The one which said they could not buy Caicedo and some embarrassing "masterstroke" from Liverpool. Move on.}}

To further add a fly in the VAR pot I wonder how klopp feels about the FA backing the appeal when the VAR was his old friend Paul Tierney if I'm not mistaken.
It's one thing for the ref to miss it but surely it supports the case that Tierney clearly has an issue with klopp to have no doubt seen that challenge from dozens of angles and yet he decided not to even ask the ref to take a look, as somebody had already suggested the ref may be inexperienced at this level or was just caught up in the atmosphere or whatever but Tierney is experienced asks was in the office. Doesn't really have an excuse worth hearing so surely he needs to be stood down for the next weeks games if not all of lfc games going forward.

I believe saints are looking at the alleged bid that Chelsea, made for lavia last summer, saints had only signed him weeks prior but Chelsea bid 50 Mill. I understand from saints pov, he's under a lengthy contract, probably not a top earner and know city have the 40 mill buy clause for next summer so they need an incentive to sell this summer, especially with city also getting 20% from any sale.
Saints may just think, keep our best players and hopefully they get us promoted back to the Premier where we will make more money than selling him for what Liverpool are offering at this present time.
Lfc seem to think saints will cave in but I honestly don't see why they would. Plus Chelsea can do as seems their transfer policy and throw crazy money over what a player is worth just to blow anybody else out of the competition. I think lfc will be looking at cheaper alternatives but the problem with that is that anybody cheaper will probably have no prem experience and possibly not speak English and that was one of the issues with Darwins integration last season.

Just with regards to the final, I'd love to see robbo or trents faces should one of them score in Madrid. I was hoping for ajax as we've done spurs twice this season and I think they will be ready to go all out. However I think after last year's final, we will be twice as determined.

Studge, I think its a shame and I think that's why people are annoyed with him. He has so much to offer but it's like he doesn't push himself like the others on the pitch. I get he just doesn't have the body to avoid injuries but when he is fit you'd think he'd want to push even more. I will remember his goals fondly but nothing else. good luck Studge and good bye.
