One poster just wrote "We could win everything there is to win with this style and I'm not sure I'd be happy. "

And there you have it. The reason why there will always be negative posters. You simply cannot change their minds.

I don't have any problem with expressing either a positive or negative opinion. It just gets irritating when the opinion and posts are all about a personal agenda or personal aggrandizement, and nothing else. No basis or foundation or backing for the opinion with why or what.

One genius (Mr. Bean) went on to the live chat, the last game, and declared that "we are going downhill" (and even a blind guy will tell you that is not the case, this season) . A poster called him out for being negative. So the genius flips it around and comes here to the main page and declares that he was right about Mac Allister having a poor game and names the poster.

The need for personal aggrandizement and relevance is that high.

Some people are never happy. Let them be.

I was not able to get on the live chat but the early signs for Mac is not encouraging.

He is clearly not fit for the holding midfielder role as he is light weight and pace is average at best.

Hopeful that he will be pushed further forward and will help us in unlocking defence from forward position. There was huge excitment when we signed him but slowly but steadily, it is waning.

AM is being played out of position and being exposed.

This is affecting his confidence and causing errors/ poor performance IMO.

I would move him out of that role and play Endo or Bajcetic, maybe RG.

Yes, most of us will agree Mac Allister is not at his best in that role. It seems that Klopp is less happy with Endo in that role than Mac Allister, however. I don't think we'll know more until the January window when the club makes a move, or doesn't, for a younger true DM.

If the club were to go on and sign a DM in january, then we have 3 players fighting for one position (End. baj and new guy) . Endo signing becomes even more pointless as Baj is still young.

{Ed002's Note - The club would have the option to sign a more defensively minded midfield player such as Thuram or Kone if the wish to drop interest in Trindade.}

ArAy1969, that may be true re: Endo BUT I think and someone mentioned this online, Klopp may be using Macca in a much deeper role (not as a traditional 6 per se cos he is not built for that) cos he is great on the ball, press resistant and can pass the ball anywhere on the pitch at close or mid range, which is essentially what a 6 does after receiving the ball. And even in the Brighton game, Macca wins the ball and gets us going for the first goal. That is prolly the risk/ reward Klopp is looking at.

Essentially, Klopp is trying to move away from the typical no. 6 role (at least for now and esp. with Szobo's engine who can get all over the pitch and the way we get compact when the press doesn't work, it could be a new way of playing. People talk about Rodri BUT forget that Rodri only got great when Pep put Gondogan, Stones and Silva around him. By himself? He was poor to bang average, IMO.

Not saying I agree BUT that's something I considered as a possibility cos I have no idea why he would not play Endo at this point cos I mean, what is he waiting for?

"cos he is great on the ball, press resistant and can pass the ball anywhere on the pitch at close or mid range, which is essentially what a 6 does after receiving the ball"

That is the perfect summary of Jorginho who is crap to me and that is not what a number 6 does.

People talk about Rodri BUT forget that Rodri only got great when Pep put Gondogan, Stones and Silva around him. By himself? He was poor to bang average, IMO.

The same city who has lost two games in the absence of Rodri. Its the other way around, that midfield sucks without Rodri.
Rodri will walk into any team in europe today and that includes Liverpool my friend.

He is a steady Eddie type player I don’t think anyone really expects too much from him in any position he plays. Just to keep the ball moving etc. Nice lad to have around the dressing room as well.

Harry, good to know you're still a City and Chelsea fan. Next level stuff, really. Not arsed about any of the drivel you posted. If that midfield sucks with out Rodri then what does that say about your manager? Pep not know what to do cos Rodri is out is a scathing indictment of the manager of the club you support. Or at least one of them.

After spending up to 1.5 billion (and counting) on a team and yet if one player does not play, "the greatest manager the world has ever seen" is out of ideas? I propose you go take that up with him. And lastly, I don't care about players who don't play for us nor what teams they would walk into. I'll leave that to you.

Endo a pointless signing? I propose you look in-house cos the signing of your idol Kovacic is even worse than pointless. Endo is a very good player and has shown he has the ability to play in our system whenever he has come in. It is up to Klopp to decide when he gets a full go in the team.

@OP, it depends upon what people want from the game.

Some people’s priority is to win, some people’s priority is for the team to play excellent football. Some people’s priority is focussed solely on Liverpool FC, some people’s priority is on the broader game.

There’s no right or wrong and just because an individual has a priority doesn’t mean other factors are excluded.

Everybody has their own views and opinions how to get there.

I’m one of the lucky ones - I’ve seen us win constantly playing great football, having been around since the very early 60’s. My personal preference is for us to play the best football we can, and - at the level we are at - if we do that we can, and do, win matches and major trophies but I don’t watch matches hoping we win, I watch hoping we play well and that I’m entertained.

Would I love us to win everything this season - absolutely. Would I love us to win, for example, the FA Cup final 1 - 0 with VAR making a mistake that allows the goal - no thanks.

We all want Liverpool to be successful, We just have different opinions about what success is and how we achieve it.

He has to fein being a Liverpool fan as its awfully quiet on the City page.
Maybe we should start a page just for Wodbod and Harry to endlessly troll each other.

Semibythesea3, indeed. Im not bothered if even a Luton fan came on here to comment and voice his/ her opinions. fans of other clubs do that all the time. Shoot, we have Ed's on here who are Liverpool, Everton, Utd and Arsenal fans and we get along just fine.

Just don't come on here and start slagging off our players and managers acting like you're one of us who wants what's best for us cos we all know that is patently false and fake or essentially, a weak attempt at concern-trolling.

Agree with you there Oli, I visit the utd, Everton and sometimes arsenal or chelsea pages, just to get an insight into how the supporters feel about their clubs and what may be going on during their respective campaigns.
Each page seems to have their “Harry”, strangeways is currently stirring the pot on the Utd page, Wodbod loves to get at the spurs lads. Maybe they are all the same person?! ?.
