Solution to Saturday and VAR overall is simple.

Publish the unedited audio of the offside check and the red card then from now on all var checks should be heard and seen on the screen.

If they aren't prepared to do this then you'd have to ask questions why and eventually force them to if they keep saying no.

I’d be all for that . But I do feel it would take the flow of the game away and become like them boring us sports .

Its not had any negative impact on, for example, rugby with TMO and cricket with DRS.

I follow cricket mush more than Rugby, and they way the DRS is used is getting very very good and concise. I like the concept of 'umpires call' as well for very marginal decisions - go with the original on field decision so that refs aren't actually abdicating on all decisions.

In Rugby League and Cricket … the match referee and umpire are in direct contact with the video referee. You can see the replay and hear the video refs explanation and descisions .
It doesn’t take long and doesn’t spoil the game.
Why is their a reluctance to do that in Football!

This works just fine in rugby. If anything, hearing the audio adds to the game rather than making it boring.

There isn’t a single good reason not to do this.

The VAR audio should be available when a decision is occurring. It would a major positive improvement.

So would the semi-auto offside system.

Do both and you increase consistency and engagement overnight. They won’t - as that would be competent.

I'd love to see the CCTV of the VAR room myself - I mean, were they even watching the match?

It would have been pretty obvious that Spurs were not setting up after having conceded a goal - the fact they were taking a free kick and no Liverpool players were celebrating a goal should have led to VAR contacting the ref to ask 'Wtf are you doing? It was a goal! ' - but somehow that didn't happen.
