Hi ED001

I was chatting with Ed002 a few days ago on here RE Jordan Henderson, i was surprised at the news he may be leaving.

Have you heard anything on your end? do you think he would leave?

would you keep him or sell him?

i would look to keep him for this year at least due to his experience

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - his problem is that the Euros are coming up and he wants to play in them. To do that he needs to be a regular. But going to Saudi league might get him regular footie, would it get him a place in the England team?

I would keep him, it is Thiago I would look to move on from the midfield. Henderson is the team leader and we need him after losing Milner. But I would also not stand in his way if he wanted to leave. He deserves the right to choose. He has earnt that much at least.}

Surely playing in the Saudi league would end his international career? Maybe it’s more competitive than I imagine ?‍♂️.

Ed 001 - the way Hendo has looked after himself during the summer break and how fit he looks now, I would suggest he is determined to fight for his place in what is now a much improved midfield. I reckon he would even do a Millie and begrudgingly play right back if needed.

Cornish, I imagine he probably had that physique last season, it’s highly unlikely he’s got that in the last 4 weeks.
I think all sides of the argument are true.
Hendo is not the player he was. Probably true.
Hendo is the leader and we don’t want to lose him and Milly at the same time. True.
Hendo was a part of the squad last year and we looked leaderless at times, probably true.
He’s hugely popular within the squad and deserves some loyalty. Very true.
Ultimately I suppose the decision will come down to Klopp and Hendo, or just Hendo himself. My personal opinion is that he’ll stay, Klopp won’t want to lose him. I would however consider letting him move on, as much as he’s been a fantastic captain, a leader, standard setter I’m not sure he can play at the highest level anymore,
I’d be sad to see him leave in the same way as Bobby and Mane, sad, thankful for the memories but perhaps the time is right.

Good shout Cornish. If we persist with the inverted RB - CM role that Trent played end of last year we will need a back up to that role. With Milly gone it’s probably Hendo with the most suited traits to play that role if Trent gets injured or rested.

Easypeasy, the way Robbo reacted make me think he hasn't seen Hendo like that before. Juiceeeeeeeeeeee :D.

West, what about baj playing Trents role in games of less importance. See how he fits?

Yeah also a good shout Molbys. I forget Baj was a defender first as well. More possibilities than I originally thought. Let’s see what pre-season brings. Either way I’m excited for the coming season.
