Great to see England U21s win the Euros. It also shows how underrated Curtis Jones is by a lot of people. Man of the match in the semi and the final!
If he was foreign we would be demanding we fork out £60M for him!

He has really shone recently. His end of season form was great and his performances at the euros should give him a huge confidence boost. Hoping for big things next season. Would love him to cement his spot in the starting XI - particularly with the Europa league I feel next season coild be great for him.

Like I wrote yesterday Marty, he is obviously held in high regard within the club. They have stuck by him for the past couple of years and, one way of looking at it, is that we don’t have to fork out £ 50-60m for a midfielder.

Let’s hope he kicks on to the next level.

It would be good if we can see the same from Kaide Gordon over the course of the coming season - the club seem to be sticking by him in the same way.

{Ed025's Note - he seems like a good lad angus but not that great at football mate, he has done well lately but if he was that highly thought of you would not be spunking nigh on £100m on two midfielders, i actually like to see youngsters getting a chance and especially local ones, but they have to be good enough and given a chance, that is unlikely because you have to be better than decent im afraid..

Ed25 still thinks Andre Gomez (now with Lille) is still better than Gini till this day during their tims in England. His opinion on CJ is one I don't pay that much attention to esp. with the mighty Tom Davies still at Everton.

{Ed025's Note - again you are over-egging one of your players oli, Gini could play but only really performed when it suited him, he had far more bad games than good and yes i believe that Gomes before his injury was a better player, but of course thats just a personal opinion, Curtis and Tom are cut from the same cloth mate...good but not good enough, but until you take those red spectacles off you wont be able to see that..

Curtis is a decentplayer. average. can't see him becoming a superstar but average is better than ox and keita offered. hopefully he stays fit and gets game time however he wouldn't make my first 11. And if he doesn't stay fit for most of this season I'd sell him. If we won't to be the best team in the league we can't have passengers. thiago is another for me.

So, Curtis wins the man of the match award in the semi and the final of the Euro-21 tournament that we haven’t won in 40 years and the best the fans can come up with is he’s average. He’s got years ahead of him and if it had been a Spaniard or a French lad winning m-o-m in the semi and then the final we would have had an outbreak of let’s sign that lad he’s brilliant - let’s spend £50m on him. Time to put the stereotyping aside and reassess. Like I say, Jones is obviously well liked by the people who are paid to steer the club in the right direction and in the past few years they have been right a lot, lot more than they have been wrong.

{Ed025's Note - you cant bring a one off man of the match into it WDW, or that makes Anthony Gordon the best young player on the planet, i actually feel a bit sorry for Jones mate and think he will have to move down a rung to get more playing time and advance his career..

One off game, Ed25? Kid was essentially England's player of the tournament where he played every game, by all accounts. Also, are you going to act like CJ has not been very good essentially for the past 4 months of football he has been playing well into the current TW? I get it. It's what you do.

Like I said, I know you like CJ deep down and you won't admit he has proved you wrong already, just like Gini and Bobbie did. You're just deflecting and holding out for the right time to admit it, just like you did with Gini and Bobbie. Don't worry, tho. I got time to wait cos that moment will come, like it did with Bobbie and Gini.

Andre Gomez was a grade A scrub and achieved nothing anywhere near what Gini for all his flaws, achieved with us, fact. Davies? Davies is 3/ 4 years more experienced than Jones in the PL yet Jones has left him in the dirt with trphies to boot. You also said Gordon was a scrub as well during the podcasts so we agree on that part. Peace and Love.
