Hello eds,

Has there been any interest from Liverpool regarding Kristoffer Ajer of Celtic?
Reading a few reports of him being a possible Liverpool target as replacement for Lovren.

All this talk of buying a 4th choice i don't see the point, we should leave it as a target to the number of young CB's we have VDB, Koumetio, Hoever etc. to compete throughout the season.

not in this given climate but i do think we should look to get someone in to replace matip, on his day he is a very good defender but just is unfortunately injured too much.

SR disagree with you mate I think another CB is a must, looking back at last year in the league only our CB with the least starts was Matip who started 8 times and the previous year it was Gomez who started 9 times but Fab also had to play 1 game there. Would you really be comfortable with one of the kids starting 8-10 games in the premier league? Klopp has said you need to be physically ready to play CB so considering them just physically VDB and Hoever, both only 18, are definetly not ready and while Koumetio might be he is also only 17. Phillips is the other option but I'm not sure he has ever convinced and perspective needs to be applied he has just finished his first professional season at 23 in the German 2nd division starting 16/ 34 league games and also has had his injury problems in the past. This season is also going to be the most demanding and conjested yet I personally can't see Klopp not getting one in.

On Matip he has improved so much I didn't see it coming but I agree his injuries are a concern hopefully we can get at least couple nore good seasons and then one of the kids will be ready.

@Tyrion, I'll start by saying I'm a huge fan of yours, my favourite character even!

Now, please name 3 premier league clubs you don't think either Gomez or Matip would be starting centre backs? That is clubs with at least two centre back better than our lads. I asked for 3 clubs, very strong argument there isn't a single club with 2 better.

I agree with Sean Ireland here. The 4 best centre backs in the Premier league (when fit) are Virgil, Laporte, Matip and Gomez.

Hi Ed002 thanks for the update, is it safe to assume that because manes representatives are talking to Barcelona his is looking to move or it’s more of a case of exploring his options.
