Keep an eye on Djed Spence to Liverpool. Heard he's pushing for a move away from Spurs and that a move to us would highly appeal to him.
Room for a deal to be done there with Spurs pushing forward with a move for Gakpo.

Watching him play for Spurs, my initial reaction is that I don't want Spence at Liverpool. However, as a stop gap at RB and an option at LB isn't such a bad thing.
Just depends on the price, and him willing to sit on the bench most of the time when others are fit.

Not a player we need in my opinion, much better out there for less than he would cost.

Brommers, I would rather use Chambers at lb.

I don't think he's v good defensively, but he's rapid, which in some ways makes up for it, and he's ok going forward and can play both sides and is homegrown. Given our issues at rb, and that he's a better lb than Kostas, it makes sense if it's not too expensive and means we could get some money in by selling the Greek scouser.

We really shouldn't buy anyone with "World Cup goggles"! He's been at Spurs for a while now and I really really doubt if it wasn't for a few games at the WC, anyone would think this is even an "ok" idea. We can and should do better. No point in signing stopgaps, we buy potential starters not only for this season but beyond.

So, by the end of next week we have
Spence, Zabarnyi, Konsa, Kounde, Mbaye, Barcola
and loads of others, too many to remember in fact.
The future looks rosy. ?

Could be a case of the non homegrown spots in the squad being full up. Seems 1 or 2 homegrown players could be getting moves to us who ordinarily we wouldn't consider signing.

If we get one of the two CB/RBs and the 2 wide players, I think we go to 19, so we will need to either sell two of our non-hg players or just pay them for not playing. We have Chiesa, Endo and Gakpo as contenders....
Bear in mind, we, in effect, paid Endo and Chiesa for loitering about last season.

Spence can easily displace any RB we have because he is better than them, Brommers.

Not good enough, he's a very average player. Possibly could develop with more quality around him, potentially, maybe?
1 good game at the WC and what would surely be a silly price as Spurs attempt to balance the books. Feels like a desperation signing if any truth.

Silly price? Believe he's available for 35 to 40 mill. A couple of good games for England. My mate at work is a season ticket Spurs fan and said he has attitude issues... However, he also said Harry Winks would end up winning more trophies than Jordan Henderson, so I'd take that with a pinch of salt. I'd say he's worth a punt at 35m.
{Ed001's Note - that is a silly price unless you missed a . out between 3 and 5 and 4 and 0. He is a dog muck defender who can't be bothered to even try and defend a lot of the time.}

In this market, 35M isn't bad. I always moan that we didn't try the free agent market early, but that's in the past.
Seems a good option... would fit our system well (work-rate not so sure). Can play both flanks.
Considering he wants out, and Spurs want him out too (plus Gakpo), we could get a good deal.
Knows the Prem, and was good enough to get a call-up in a dire Spurs team... doesn't seem as bad as people think.
I think we need to just bite the bullet on this one. [if we were to pursue it]

Spence great option, since Zabaryni loan deal seems to have gone quiet due to us targeting Mbaye and Barcola. Get all three, and don't sell Gakpo, we'll be fine. Also, Bajcetic will get some more first game time.

Haha ed. To be fair I ain't really seen much of him apart from World Cup. My spurs fan mate did say similar to be fair. Does he just not need a kick up the but?
{Ed001's Note - no, he is just an arse. Go back and watch Argies goals again and ask yourself wtaf is he doing. One of them he literally just stands still and watches for long enough that one of the other players has time to notice and start to close down instead, because he was just stood there. Absolute cretin of a player and the fact that people want him is astonishing. Spurs were sh*te because they had dog muck like him in the team.}

Ed01 I am not a huge fan of Spence, he had a good World Cup but that is a different story with the entire 11 being asked to defend. But don't you think he is better than Frimpong, Tsimikas and Ramsay?
Specially if the 35mil price tag is true and since is he is home grown. I don't think we are seriously trying address the RB position, if we are not getting someone like kounde, Spence should be a better option than using players out of position or Tsimikas or expect Frimpong to defend.
In the last friendly game, Morrison was involved in more 1 on 1 defending than Frimpong
{Ed001's Note - he is not better than my mother, let alone any of those. I seriously fear for anyone who thinks Djed Spence is a defender worth buying.}
