Morning Ed001 - hope you're well

I read a post yesterday that Mike Gordon is coming to hold an emergency meeting - not sure how much of this is true but a couple of things.

How much do you know about him as an operator? Is he a hard nosed yank that'll pull no punches and look at the evidence of shocking performances by all, team moral at an all time low, fervent fan unrest not seen for years and say enough is enough or will he as I fear just say not good enough boys, must do better going forward

How do you see this s**t show panning out!?

The issue is that you have complete morons like David James talking (no doubt after being briefed to mention it) about how Slot has done better in his first 2 years than Klopp did in his first three. This is the problem, the stats are being spun to present Slot as some supermanager doing better than Klopp, rather than showing how he got off to a great start building on Klopp's foundations and then ripping it all up and destroying them. Rather than talking about the current regression, Edwards has people spinning it to make it seem like a dip.}

These are highly educated, successful business people, multi billion franchise.

I cannot believe a glorified stat man can tell them the super computer says the sky is red. When he can look outside and see it's not...

I just hate the decline, and, more worryingly, the rate at which it is going.

Liverpool could guarantee Champions League qualification with 62 points and even stumble upon it with 59. I've checked, and that neither would be enough to secure Champions League in any of the last 15 Premier League seasons.

It's not just a dip for us, it's a dip across the board, and we cannot risk a repeat next season.

ED001. Not sure what David James has said, but we met him in Madrid the day after the final v Spurs n he was saying he knows Edwards n co personally n think he said he'd worked with them previously, was more or less singing their praises, we had just won number 6 so we also thought they could do no wrong

{Ed001's Note - James is a prick, I used to hate him at us, he was lazy and would skip training a lot. He said on live TV, during the build up to the Villa game that Slot has done better in his first 2 years than Klopp did in his first three. In fact he said "what Slot has done in his two years is fantastic, much better than Klopp did in his first three".}

As Ed001 rightly said Mike Gordon is a partner (12% owner) of FSG, and more importantly, FSG's main man living in England from the time they bought the club until 2 summers ago when he returned to the US. He was part of everything and saw what was right during the Klopp years.

He was around when Edwards and Ward were there earlier; their departures must have been with his blessing. And now he is seeing what a mess Edwards, Hughes, Slot, Ward and Woodfine have made of everything. We are teetering on the edge. And he's stepping in at just the right time.
