Do you know how good our Midfield is currently? Well remember Thiago has still not played this season and he brings a whole lot to the table.
P. S. seems the players are getting a little more aggressive, you would expect that from Robo and Nunez, but now even the normally calm VVD and Salah are loosing their cool. The coach may need to work on this, remember how they targeted Mane when they knew the was prone to retailation.

OP, I was with you until you went all sideways with the "VVD and Salah losing their cool stuff". That's a bit far-fetched, IMO. Anyone that knows Salah knows he almost never loses his cool except when he feels he has been hard done by by the refs wich is normal esp. with the absolute physical abuse he gets from the oppo.

As for VVD, he is the captain and should be aggressive and stand up for his team when need be. Also, him normally being calm is actually a weakness for him cos he can be too laid back at times. I love that our players have that Dawg in them, IMO. Not sure what on about with this part of your post, tbh.

Our biggest problem last season was our lack of aggression, nevermind books r tactics. We at our best when we aggressive and in your face.

100% agree with both the above replies.
Van Dijk and Salah are very much the senior players of the squad now, the new Henderson and Milner if you like, so it is pleasing to see them taking on that mantle.
I have someimes thought in the past that Liverpool can be too nice at times, it's felt like some sides have tried to rough the team up.
On a related note, I watched some of the 1971 FA Cup semi final against Everton on YouTube the other day.
Omg, Shankly had that young team like rabid wild dogs, they were all over Everton like a rash (who were the reigning League champions at the time) .
A young Larry Lloyd was not a man to be messed with, let's put it that way.
Talk about playing for the red shirt, amazing.

Can’t say I’ve noticed players losing their cool anymore than normal to be honest. Only really once with VVD when he took too long to leave the field after his red card. And you could argue Jota when he decided to get himself sent off with that lunge.
Wouldnt say it was a trend though, we seem to have a relatively nice and professional bunch of players at the minute.

Agree with Mikey, we are too nice a club most of the time. We used to win those "Fairplay" awards regularly, but haven't heard of that in recent times. A big part of the game is psycholigical (I'm no psychologist and even I know that), and intimidation is a big part of that. That's why I love Robbo so much. He is one guy who gives far more than he ever gets, and it keeps the opposition honest. They're slowly slowly wiping away the most physical parts of the sport, but it's still a big part of it.

And in my opinion, Salah is too nice after some of those hard tackles. He needs to get up and give the defender a cold hard stare as in "is that the best you can do, bub? ". I'm not for retaliation because that's counter-productive, but we should never ever get intimidated; never ever give an inch.

pot on, ArAy1969. We should fight fire with fire at times cos that's the only language certain people understand. They do not respect you if you don't get in their faces and tell them what time it is.

We have on the PL Fair Play Award for several seasons. Where and what did that get us? Absolute disrespect and disdain from the officials and the opponents, the match officials and the whole PL in general. And when we speak up for ourselves when appropriate, they call us victims, tell us to sit down and suck it up and all that mess. Miss me with that crap, mate. You come at us? You'll get the business and it's going to be on sight.

"That's why I love Robbo so much. He is one guy who gives far more than he ever gets, and it keeps the opposition hones".

And you know what's funny? The rival fans hate Robbo for these exact reasons. Cos think about it. Were Robbo a nice lad who just took it and sucked it up, these fans would love him and call him the nicest guy in the PL. But cos he suffers no fools and let's them have it, they hate him. See what I mean? For me again and like you, NO inches given! You try to intimidate us, we will meet you head on.

Exactly Oli. Half the game is always in the mind. More than half the guys who got beaten by Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson had already lost (in their minds) before they even set foot in the ring.
