Don't Stone, you'll have the usual " we aren't singing him get over it" replies. Ha. They looked very close though, like mentor and mentee.

Our positivity isn't shared by too many on here, Magico, but if our great captain is involved, I'm 100% behind us.

not to sound like I have red tinted glasses, but I don't understand how Henderson isn't the captain of England. He is clearly the leader on the pitch.

You don't need an armband to be the leader, Stone.

Spot on Rome, natural leaders happen because of who they are and how they behave - leaders are born not made.

To follow up my post - Liverpool are lucky as they have two, and possibly a third, natural leaders. Millie and Hendo definitely are and I think that Curtis might perhaps emerge as one. In an ideal world all three will be at the club in one capacity or another for years to come.

WDW, I see Robbo and TAA ahead of Jones, in the queue. And if Virgil sees out his contract with us, he might have a thing or two to say about all this.

WDW, and exactly WHAT do you see in Jones, to think he is a future captain? Whatever it is, I must be missing it. You can't be captain just because you are a scouser. Personally I wouldn't have him anywhere near our starting 11.

Fair question @Elliot, - just the way he handles the press, accentuates the positives, doesn’t shy away from the negatives and is supportive of everything about the club - the fans, players, owners etc.

To me he comes across as articulate and authoritative in what he says and how he says it. He’s only a young man but comes across as a person (rather than a football player) who has a bit of (future) leadership quality about him.

@ArAy, fair point about Robbo and TAA, although I’m not sure about VVD - seems a bit more of posturing with him, rather than genuine leadership, although I might just be mis-reading his press statements, etc.
