Thankfully UEFA and the fans saved us from a ESL only for UEFA to come up with an idea of sending teams all over the World to play CL games ? Go to China for a midweek game and back fresh to play in the Premier League at the weekend. It's a great idea ??.

OP, that was funny indeed. Essentially, the next format of the CL is well based on some accounts, the ESL with "Legacy teams" getting in based on history even when they haven't been in the CL for 5 yrs in a row prior. Only that now, UEFA gets to mess with us, not the so called greedy clubs. Where's the outrage about that, so called "Man of the people" (now that leaves me in stitches till this day a. k. a Gary Neville?

I won't go so far as to say I was in support of the Super League but I will say that I found the hysterical reaction insane. The Super League or something similar is merely the natural next step in how the game has evolved with the money and people involved. Especially with regards to UEFA, I found it hilarious at the amount of players coming out to say they grew up dreaming of playing in the Champions League, as if the Champions League as we currently know it wasn't itself a rebranding made specifically so 'big' clubs would almost always qualify and almost always go deep into the competition to guarantee the most profits possible.

Pretty much agree to all of this zpecialone.
The idea of trusting UEFA to defend the game of the people AGAINST greedy owners would be funny if not so sad.

Jurgenator, it's all a scam regardless of who is in charge of the ESL or the new format incoming for the UCL. It is down to who you want to get fleeced by. The top clubs or UEFA? BUT the hystericals couldn't figure that out at the time. "Football is for the fans". What rubbish!

Any new concept of ESL or otherwise will also ramp up the tv subscription, if not it’ll be another package to sign to if you want to watch all games successful teams participate in, it’s probably a reason why they expanded the European games.
