Ed001 I can forgive Gonez's mistakes but Van Dijk and Trent's lack of effort in defending is awful. Trent jogging back when he should be busting a gut and Van Dijk not willing to put in a challenge because he does not want to get injured and miss the World Cup is unforgivable the one thing as fans you expect as a minimum is 100% effort and I don't think them two are even at 60%.
Hopefully this is the kick up the backside we needed because we was lucky that was not 6 at half time and it was embarrassing.

Why would you forgive Gomez mistake? My two year old son would have bullied him up down and center yesterday. His only and biggest weapon is Pace and he got owned by Oshmien much part of the game.
What exactly is he good at other than pace? He is terrible in the air and that is why Klopp prefers Matip to Gomez.
Let’s call a spade a spade.

VVD has often waited for the forward to make up his mind and make a mistake before he does anything but he's taking it too far now.
And when he does engage he is getting it wrong. That's two penalties, a booking on Saturday and allowing Sancho a shot on an open goal.
He seems tentative and needs some fire in his belly. The same goes TAA. Gomez is fourth choice and Robertson should be dropped.

Thiago won more ground duels (7) in 27 minutes than the starting midfield combined (6) did in 90 minutes.

I think I've seen people talk about the "kick up the backside we needed" after a few of the results this season.

@JK23: It is incredible really. I felt even Fabs started playing a little better once he came on. The other guys just wouldn't make a tackle.

The whole team got bullied, end of. A truly collective train wreck. Singling out this or that player is just a waste of time, IMO. We have multiple individual poor performances game in, game out that it would note even matter who played well cos you simply cannot overcome that many poor performance. Team sports is not built that way. Our issues are collective, not individual.

“Why would you forgive Gomez mistake? ”

Because they where mistakes.
Because he’s a Liverpool player and clearly didn’t mean for us to get rogered.
Because at the end of the day it’s a bloody game.

It doesn’t matter how crap you are, or how crap you think they are, if they try then as fans you can forgive mistakes.

If you confuse issues of talent/ form and effort there isn’t really much hope for you.

Keep spewing the bile though.

Agreed Oli. Very much a collective issue that includes Klopp no doubt.

A collective issue which only targets Keita, Wijnaldum and Matip when they play. I get it. Other than pace he doesn’t have anything into his game.

I’m afraid that Gomez’ individual errors put the team in a very difficult position last night, and there’s no point sugar coating that.
At 2-0 down the game was effectively over and no surprise that the overall performance went even further downhill after that.

No mention of the 37 yesr midfield maestro who is well out of his depth now. Should of gone end of. 1 year extension was a huge mistake also. Obviously klopp knew then we wasn't getting any money. Football is for the fans. obviously not anymore.

Tbf I understand grino's thinking, mistakes are more easily forgiven than not trying.

The problem on this occasion though is Joe made the mistake and was caught on the ball by Omishen. Once that happens, then for at least the next 20 minutes if you're under pressure like that again, you either send ball back to Ali or boot it a mile upfield or out of play. And you do that with your first touch. No messing around. You make it clear to the opposition that they are not going to get that type of charity from you again. Joe did not do this, he kept getting caught on it. That's pretty absent minded from him.
