Liverpool FC have a long and close history with the CL. As the draw happened today, collectively it seems we feel that as we were so close last year, and were possibly disadvantaged by RM's dirty tricks, we are expecting to get to the final again and are all expecting that we have another chance to get to the final and this time win it.

Whilst I never understood why City supporters say they are only interested in the PL, not the CL - this year I feel differently.

I wouldn't mind going out of the CL in the group stages if it means we can concentrate on and WIN the PL. Let's get that monkey off our back. We can concentrate on the double next year.

There is no reason we can't get to the the CL final. Trouble is there are about 10 other good teams who realistically feel the same. There is no point entering with the attitude that you suggest though, we need to mae a good account of ourselves across the board!

We lose all credibility if we go out of the group stages. PSG and Napoli are two fantastic teams and getting the better of the two will go a long way to earning the respect of the big boys and future LFC targets. Top that group and the club will get a huge lift that could carry on into the league games as well. We have decent depth this time around and juggling Europe and the league should not be an issue.
Its the Carabao cup that we should give a miss though. 3 cups at once is too much too soon imo. Play our 2nd team (which ain't too bad btw) against Chelsea in the cup. If we win, great. Otherwise we have a league challenge and a deep run in the UCL to look forward to.

No point in qualifying for it if you’re not going out to win it.

Play to win, we have a big enough squad to take care of the PL. 👍.

We don’t lose any credibility if we crash out from the group stage. We don’t have a squad that could win both league and CL. Period. We need to focus on the league form chug the owners have thrown in money. CL progression is a bonus. People are getting carried away with a few names that occupies our bench. They aren’t Mahrez / Sterling or Sane! League is our priority.

Perception, I cannot understand your point why should we crash out of the group stages like a coward dog. What if at the end we are not able to win the league and how is Sterling better than Shaqiri?

I should’ve just said I’d rather win the PL than the CL this year. It goes without saying that both would be nice!
