Hi ed, new poster here so give me slack. wonder if you can answer because I just don't know anymore.
Do we struggle in windows because we really haven't got the pull anymore to attract top players or because we won't pay what's required in these days of crazy transfer fee and wages?
Please no comments about tapping up etc really want to hear ed's opinion :)

The owners aren't brave enough or willing enough to break the bank to win.

70 mil on one player just doesn't represent good resale value to them but 70 mil split between 8/ 9 players with big sell on fees is.

Liverpool willing to pay what it took to bring a top class midfielder in and a top class centre half. I don't think it's money or players willingness to come as neither are the issue with either the Keita or VVD dealings.

I don't think history matters anymore. We aren't and haven't been for a few years the big pull that we use to be. It's mostly about top dollar now in my opinion. There are loads of clubs ahead of us. It's going to take a while to get anywhere near the top table again.

The issue is that tbey have signed contracts to play for other clubs,

Just as Phil Coutinio has with us.

The thing is we have pissed a whole load of people off, they in turn are making it as hard as possible to complete the deals. All the while briefing that there may still be hope
This delays us going for other targets.

You reap what you sow!
The less said, the less to mend.

Absolute rubbish WonderWoodburn!
FSG stumped up the cash, it was RBL who refused to do business at any price (I must admire them for that and hope we take the same stance with Barcelona over Coutinho) . Fingers still crossed that we will get VVD and keep Klopp happy.
FSG not to blame in this saga, they did their part but our football staff obsessed over a player RBL never intended to sell in the first place. Time to move on, sign some good players and have a great season so Keita will still want to move here next year.

Whether the owners were actually willing to stump up the cash we will never know unless these bids actually get accepted. We have been on wild goose chases in the past for players which never came to fruition. Saying you're willing to spend money and actually spending it is 2 different stories. I really hope these owners prove me wrong otherwise Klopp is going to have to further improve the players we had last season otherwise we will stand still of stagnate.

Wonderwoodburn are you Waro's son?

Same anti-FSG stance but without the sensible points, which makes me think you are posting so much now as school has finished for the summer?

😀.
