"I miss winning cups. Copa América is another opportunity for me, because every player dreams of winning cups. "

Coutinho when asked by a journalist. Not mere speculations or paper talks. Ed02 guessed this some 6 months ago.

At the end the day he signed a new contract last sums so he goes for top price or stays . Klopp know what he's doing if it was are old manger I would be more worried .

The thing is, as good as he is, if he's not 100% committed to the cause I'd prefer him to go. To those saying he'd be impossible to replace I refer to ed002s comments regarding Götze. The transfer window isn't even open yet, everyone needs to calm down.

I don't think ed02 'guessed it' he informed us all that coutinho will ask to leave if we don't manage to get CL football. He made it clear to several of his Brazil teammates also, and it was so obvious at the end of the season that he would be one of the first to ask to leave. He went completely under the radar, everyone had no questions about whether he was staying, but it's was quite clear he wanted out if we didn't get CL football and here we are. There should be no shocks and no suprises and honestly, from a players perspective, he is right. Liverpool have just coasted without winning anything in the process so why stay on a ship that's going nowhere. From a fans perspective you would say that he didn't help he cause by not turning up to the final. Either way he's our best player and selling him will only damage the club unless we somehow break the mould and reinvest the money properly, something I can't see us doing even with klopp in charge.

I don't like his comments. I don't think he's ever personally won a cup final.

He had two chances to win a cup final this season, and he failed to show up in both of them. He may have scored the goal against City but was nowhere to be seen for the rest of the match, and bottled it in the penalty shootout. He was then an absolute no-show against Sevilla in our biggest game of the entire season.

His comments just make him sound like a self-entitled brat. After reading his comments, a layman would think that he's done everything he possibly could for the team, ala Suarez in 13/ 14, but the rest of the team are a 'lost cause' and let him down in winning a trophy. But no; instead, he failed to perform in both cup finals. If he wants to win cup finals, he needs to properly contribute. Jumping ship to find a better vessel when the problem was in fact the sailor and not the ship, is really irritating.

What? He gets asked about winning the Copa America just before the beginning of the tournament, and he says he wants to win the cup. And this translates to him wanting to leave Liverpool?

Is that you Harry? Because surely you are the most capable of coming up with such nonsensical logic and finding connections where there is none.

I understand that Ed001 has said that he has asked to leave, but that answer has nothing to do with Liverpool. What should he have said? Meh never mind the cup, I am just here for the jolly fun times in the summer with the national team that I have been hoping to get into regularly?

Well he could have won a Cup, if he'd turned up in the Europa Cup Final. Maybe it's putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 (I am a conspiracist at heart), but i'm now wondering if his 'no show' in the final was premeditated, thus enabling an excuse to try to get out of the club this Summer. i'm sure that isn't the case, but I remember having that same idea when Suarez bit Ivanovic.

AG, he said that he misses winning cups. It's well known that he wants to leave Liverpool to win things. But it was also stupid to say because he has never actually directly won a cup. IMO, your most important contribution to winning a cup is playing in the final, and he never did that at Inter.

BBQ, I highly doubt those bites were premeditated.

Coutinho is missing winning cups? What has he ever won before coming to Liverpool? Also I'm not sure there has been a team that would have given him the chance to win so many cups as Liverpool have this past few years. Would need to do some Google searching but we've been in plenty of cup finals including europe and should have won the league since he has been here. If he misses winning them so I we. there problem solved Phil. stay and win all around you for us 😊.

Misses winning cups haha he was sh*te against Sevilla so does he want to win them or does he want to be in a team that will win them for him while he coasts along? He's talking crap. Jurgen has spoken he wants players to push the train not ride it!

Real Ag

I do not understand your post. This is a quote from his recent interview which I passed it over here. He has not made it public about his future after all the growing speculations about his future. Both the editors has said about the possibility of Coutinho moving out at some point in the past. He has Brazilian teammates who would easily turn his head during the Copa notably Dani Alves. It is your call to read between the lines And I am not any Harry.

Cheers.

{Ed033's Note - No, you're not just any Tom, Dick or Harry, you're the one and only Harry Scouser.
