One for Ed002. There's reports around (albeit from tabloid websites) of Liverpool and Barcelona in talks about a swap deal for Depay and Firmino.

Are you aware of any contact between the clubs about these players or is it just media speculation? Thank you!

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of the noise about this and am aware Barcelona would be happy to move Depay (who comes with "baggage") on. It may be attractive to both players but Liverpool should be looking for the "next firmino" and Barcelona have a young versatile Brazilian they are nooking to add.}

A bit of nookie between us and Barcelona eh?

Sorry, my childish streak let’s me don every now and again.

Thanks Ed002. Memphis is certainly a talent, but the baggage isn’t ideal.

Apologies if you have already covered this, but in your trawl through the ‘up and comings’ around the game, who would you think could be the ‘next Firmino’?

{Ed002's Note - Ideally the club would need someone with versatility who is able to score goals - perhaps a Dominik Szoboszlai or Joao Felix type player. Players like Jamal Musiala and Rayan Cherki are young and showing versatility. For me the pick would be Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen.}

Ed, do you think our own Carvalho could grow into the firmino role?

{Ed002's Note - It is very early to say.}

What do you think of Gakpo Ed? Played kind of a second striker role for Netherlands in the last game but predominantly a winger for PSV isn’t he? Do you think he’d fit the bill?

{Ed002's Note - No I don't think so. Liverpool looked at him before he extended his contract in January but moved for Luis Diaz instead. It has not stopped interest from a number of PL sides.}

Thanks for that Ed002. From what (little! ) I know of them, Wirtz or Musiala look like great prospects for that role.

However, I know that Carvalho was being touted as being moulded into the Firmino/ false 9 role when he arrived, so I am looking forward to see in the next season or two if he gets more game time there.

{Ed002's Note - Wirtz has had a bad injury but will be back in the New Year. Assuming he proves his fitness there will be plenty of interest from clubs in the summer. Bayer Leverkusen added him to replace Havertz and won't want to sell. Musiala is different in that he he left Chelsea with a clear intent to switch allegiance and Bayern Munich offered him a route to the first team. I don't see him returning to England.}
