Ed001 thought your post was excellent, I hope Klopp can see these problems at face value but knowing his character I have my doubts especially with his comments about injuries in the forward line. We were only missing Jota at the start of the season and the performances weren't there either.

I also don't see him having the ruthlessness to tell any one of this group of players it's time to leave and a squad that has too many injury prone players and players past their peak shows it. For me that's the main reason the transition could take longer which in turn will present more problems.

Do you think this season will get Klopp to make the drastic changes in the summer we need? Give me some hope. looking forward to more of your articles when you get the time.

{Ed001's Note - I think he must see that change is needed. While he can be too loyal, I am sure he must know that now is the time to be ruthless. He wouldn't have got to where he is without knowing how to rip a team down and rebuild it.}

If it’s a rebuild we need where is the money coming from? It’s going to cost a fortune for a rebuild.

Hahahha, a rebuild. Got to love the melodramatics.

Klopp was ruthless that first couple of windows but since then these are "his players". He has also said that he respects the contract the players have with the club and won't tell anyone to leave unless they ask see Mane, Lovren, Ings and if not they end up leaving on a free way past when they sould have left.

Hoping you're right and he can make those changes. Also hope that whoever the players are to leave accept it rather than cause rubbish. I would be selling/ releasing Kelleher, Adrian, Matip, Nat, Tsimikas, Hendo, Millie, Ox, Naby, Bobby. Who would you be moving on Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't see the value in moving on Kelleher and Tsimikas unless they ask to go. Other than that I agree though. The ones that would have question marks for me would be Salah and Virgil.}

Don't worry about where the money is coming from, mark. FSG won't be rattling a tin at your front door, mate.

With Kelleher I'm pretty sure he's going to ask to leave nothing to with his quality and we can get decent money for him. And Tsimikas is another we can get good money for right now and I think we need to get a younger LB who can take over from Robbo as he approaches 30.

Personally I'm not too worried about Mo, I think once the attack and team stabilises we'll see his influence again and the same with Virg.

Seems we have gone back to the press which I hope means Klopp has taken more responsibility and moved Lijnders into the background for now.

As Ed highlighted in his post I just hope we start to play Trent as a true wingback again and none of this drifting inside. I agree Salah should be one to considered selling but if Trent was staying wide and making those overlapping runs I think Salah could still return to form.

I do wonder who would buy Salah at this stage. He doesn't look the same player as a few years ago. On a huge contract too.

Klopp was ruthless at the start of his tenure letting go of the players who didn't fit his system in that first summer window in 2016. Since then, his loyalty has led him through a blind alley so the question is, will he reverse course cos he knows things are NOT working. We shall see.
