Good morning ed1. Do u know anything of diaz's injury? Is it recurrence of his injury r a new 1?
I read a post here saying that it same injury but felt at time didn't require surgery but now it does. bad mistake that if true.

{Ed001's Note - It is an LCL injury apparently, which is less serious than an ACL at least and he should be back this season. Difficult to be sure how true the reports are, but it does seem to be the previous injury that he aggravated. Hard to tell if it is an error by the medical staff, which seems to be the media consensus, but you would think an injury like that would have been referred to a specialist. That is the usual thing, so any mistake would have been their mistake rather than our staff. It is entirely possible it is just bad luck.}

Ed001 mate…I think I remember you saying Linders was taking more control over the training sessions, less intensity etc…

Could it be that we are reverting back to a more intense game hence the injuries?

Cheers
Drogie.

{Ed001's Note - I think it is more likely that there is a lower level of basic fitness now. Most injuries are caused by a lack of fitness. More so than the overtraining so many people try to put it on. Not all, but most. That can be lifestyle issues, dietary problems, lack of suppleness or just not training hard enough, but it is particularly the cause of soft tissue injuries, such as pulls and tears. Ligament issues and broken bones though are not normally put down to that. I haven't really looked at our injuries this season as it is difficult to find time with a baby like but certainly Diaz' injury would come under bad luck usually. It is normally caused by contact, whether with another player or the ground while twisting and turning. That could be suppleness, but normally it is the actual contact that causes the injury and so not something we can blame anyone for.}

I doubt it would be medical staff mate. reason being they would have had mri. maybe he didn't want surgery as he wanted to b back this season. or maybe that was the decision taken together. or maybe hebaggrevated it during rehab. or could be medical decision too maybe that's y the doc left. but this season is a free fer anyways. would rather let him take as much time as possible to recover.

From C.V. we seem to have had an awful lot of injuries, could it be the amount of games they've tried to cram in since then? both international and club fixtures, also taken into account we played every club game possible last season.
I remember ed1 saying when klopp took over he said players weren't fit enough and put them threw v hard training right away, we ended up with a spate of muscle injuries but when got threw that they all cleared up, what ed1 had said would happen did happen, we had v good run with injuries til C.V.. But since then it's been 1 after another.

{Ed001's Note - that is a very good point Digger, the number of games and lack of rest could well be a big part of the problem. There have been an inordinate amount of injuries across the Prem lately.}

Cheers ed001, congrats and good luck with the sleepless nights ?.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Drogie. I love it so it's not bad. With my first daughter I was the one that got up with her during the night. Time with kids is far more important than sleep and so much more fun.}

When was your baby born Ed. Didn't know. Congratulations.

{Ed001's Note - she is only a couple of months old. Thank you. Keeping me busy that is for sure. Especially as she has a tendency to sleep on me which makes it very difficult for me to do anything!}

congratulations Ed.
Do you think there is too much reliance on fitness with footballers these days? Hence all the muscular injuries, majority of today's footballers are built like ufc fighters.

{Ed001's Note - there is not enough stamina fitness and too much sprint type fitness, that is why they need the rotation and rest. They are fit but they need more time to recuperate than they get.}

{Ed001's Note - congrats mate. Enjoy it better to miss out on sleep and have the pleasure of those little moments of joy they bring constantly.}
