I know I will get lambasted for this but thoughts on whether Tomas Soucek would fit into our midfield. I am not suggesting we are interested but more of a question as to whether he would fit in. My view is that he is a very good footballer, 26 and very flexible.
Thoughts?

At 26 he would want to start, and he won’t be a starter for Liverpool…. ever.

Good player Soucek. we wudn be able to afford him now anyway.

Soucek is the modern day Fellaini. He’d be a good impact sub for us but the idea of him stood in front of a back 10 trying to break it down isn’t pleasant.

How about marcel sabitzer and james ward-prowse ed? Are they on the liverpool target list player to buy? Sabitzer is a versatile player, he's available to play on midfield and central forward, his long shot also good and cmiiw, his contract will expire next year. Ward-prowse national team player, experienced EPL and home grown player.

{Ed0666's Note - Sabitzer is not a top 4 premiership player in my opinion. Nor is ward Prowse. If either were to sign I would be hugely underwhelmed.

Soucek isn't very good on the ball, passing range, etc. Excellent engine and superb in the air but not good enough on the ball to step up, imo.

Love Soucek as a player. Does he fit the way we play, I don’t think so. Like Tielemans, he plays a diff role in midfield where he is not asked to press or graft (he has Rice and Noble for that) and plays more if a b2b role. We don’t play that way.

Spot on, Ed666. Ward-Prowse? I’d rather we sign nobody than sign him. Decent at the very best. Bissouma is light years ahead of him and would be even cheaper as there is NO English tax (for mostly bang average English players) attached to him.

{Ed0666's Note - Oli you’d be surprised of how good a player soucek I think would be for us. If we bought him I’d be delighted.
