Any links for us with young Lacroix from Wolfsburg? The promising young CBs getting fewer and fewer as the days go by.

No, he'd be a decent fit for us and a really sensible signing. A bit like Lukeba

Makes no sense at all, we'd much rather sit there and idly watch these players join other clubs while we spend ages bidding for unavailable players and meticulously plan to make exactly the same mistakes again next summer.

Maybe our younger players have impressed during pre season, Quansha ( forgive spelling), I don’t mind that, if it gives them an opportunity in the season to step up why not.

After all that’s why we have them, the only possible issue is, if VVD gets injured, then it’s CAN the rest of the players cover that duration, worth the gamble? Yes I say.

We have VVD, Konate, Matip, Gomez and Nat with experience in the PL so I don’t think we’ll get caught short at CB this year. I also agree Jarrell looks a real prospect, so I’d let him challenge Gomez and Matip for the backup/ cup roles and see how he goes.

For me it’s more about whether we can sort the midfield balance, and also figure out how to use our FBs without leaving huge gaps in behind. We haven’t had the right balance since Gini left and Hendos legs started to go unfortunately. Thiago and Elliott are great players, but completely different style, and we failed to adapt the team shape for them, often leaving Fabinho and our CBs exposed. It’s why we did so much better once Jones and Bacetic came in, or why we improved with Trent tucking in rather than bombing forward.

Can't see the club signing a CB unless Matip or Tsimikas leave. With limited or no interest in either it likely won't happen. Suck it up and move on.

I looked what I saw of Quansa in Germany. He's clearly not ready, but seemed to be very very suitable.

We also have Luke Chambers on treatment table, who can also operate at CB as well as LB. He is wanted by Bundesliga and most notably Alonso though. Will see if he is still here too come kick off.
