With the window now shut, how should we go about managing our CB situation?

Vvd and Konate as starters
Gomez to cover for vvd
Matip to cover for Konate
Endo as back up cover

Luke chambers as cover for LCB
Quansah as cover for RCB


Guess this should be adequate till next window or summer

Qns is
- is Luke chambers good enough to be a starter next time?
- what's the plan for Sepp VDB?
- will we revert to a standard back 4 so the best of Robbo and TAA can prevail without the former struggling to defend as a LCB.

I was just recently thinking about the plan for Sepp VDB and I would have preferred if he had replaced Matip this season as back-up. Maybe that's what we would see next season.

Luke Chambers did well on his loan last season and even played at LCB a few times, albeit at a much lower level. I am excited to see him step-up.

Sepp has been getting good reviews
I do hope the plan is for him to take the spot of Matip as he’s both a good CB and RB.

Hoping Chambers turn out well too. Saves us a chick of money.

But whatever personnel, just hope No more inverted FB. Our MF this season is good and mobile enough and our forward like is fantastic. Don’t need an extra body in midfield.

I think we will have to do similar to the defence next season what we have done to midfield this season. not saying 5 out and 4 in but 2r3 out and same in. hopefully quansah can make the step up for us this season, would like to see him get some games.

I saw one of the Ed’s said about Like Chambers, I had no idea who he is so googled him and it came up with a 37 year old cb who plays for Ipswich…so I thought Ed was having a laugh.

Just Googled him again and I see he is a kid we have on our books.

How high do people think his ceiling is and Ed’s do you know the clubs intention for him?

It would be nice if he could come through, another young hg talent!

{Ed001's Note - he is a bit off being ready, but as there is so little talent at left-sided centre-back it makes no sense to just buy for the sake of it. Would make more sense to develop him and bring him up to readiness.}

Is Quansah more right sided centre back or left sided Ed?

{Ed001's Note - from what I have seen he seems pretty comfortable on either side but he is primarily right-footed, so right-sided is his better position.}

Is Billy Koumetio left footed? Think I saw Ed02 mention it but why have we sent him out on loan if that's the case, is he not rated as highly internally?
