Was wondering Eds and all, do you think if we go for Marcos Llorente it’s with Trent’s hybrid RB/ CM role in mind? Not as a replacement, but we must be wary that we’re shaping the formation around someone we don’t have obvious cover for, and Llorente has played CM and RB so could probably play all the midfield roles. I think it could be smart move because of this. So if Fabs and Hendo leave that’d probably leave us with:

Mac Allister/ Jones Szobozslai/ Elliott


New DM (Lavia? ) Trent/ Llorente
Baj
Thiago

It’s a lot of change all at once which I can imagine might lead to a slow start of the season as they all gel, but that does look like a pretty well stocked midfield to me. I think at least Mac Allister, Llorente and potentially Baj and Thiago too would be capable of playing both the 6 and 8 roles. The only thing is maybe the new DM would ideally be more experienced than Lavia now. What does everyone else think?

If we continue with the 3-2-2-3 formation, could Bajcetic be being looked at as one of the options in the back 3. Up until last season he had played all his football from the age of 8 as a centre half.

I can see the logic in that, Ed. Hopefully, we can get him if indeed, he is who the scouts and Klopp want.

Bajcetic will be lucky to make 10 first team appearances think he made 8 last season, he's a kid and it would be crazy to expect him to replace fabinho just yet. 21-22 onwards.

Sounds obvious and simplistic but if we are selling Fabinho why don’t we just go and get a specialist DM.

Bajcetic will not be playing in a back three, absolutely no chance, even if he did when he was younger.

Also, he will easily make over 10 first team appearances. His injury is the only reason why he stopped at 8 this season.
