With only Ibu left at the World Cup from our squad I think the team to play City on the 22nd will be as strong as we can muster. Ali, Robbo, VvD, Gomez, Trent, Fab, Thiago, Elliott, Mo, Nunez, Bobby. All are back with the squad now and will have had time to wind down and train before next week. Its not like they will have a three week break like if the World Cup was in the summer before training, as this time of year they would be playing twice a week any way. don't mess around, as strong as possible as fast ans possible. City for sure will be playing as many of thier big guns as they can. Baring in mind the biggest gun of them all wasn't even at the World Cup.

I reckon we play a strong line-up, not because it's City, but because it will be seen as a rhythm builder for the league games. Otherwise it would be 10 days between Milan and Villa.

We saw what the postponement of the Leeds game did for our Leicester away performance last season. Too many mince pies in between. :D.

Only one of those is back with the squad and that's Nunez.

Matip the obvious choice before Gomez, otherwise agree.

All lads that were knocked out at the weekend are getting a week off before returning to training. Whether that leaves their participation in the City tie in doubt remains to be seen.

Klopp is the ultimate pragmatist where the cups are concerned.
I don’t think he’ll go full monty against Man City, not with a tough league schedule over Xmas coming up.
Too many injuries also.

Don't think hendo needs any training he should be up to speed now. Personally thought he was quality for England.
