So if your keeper commits a serious foul, as a defender, just score an own goal, keeper is saved from a red card and possible suspension from future matches but mostly you get to keep 11 vs 11.
Thats what I can deduce from yesterday's match.
Same like when Van dyke was injured, as he was offside, you can break someone's leg and be saved from a card as the other player was offside.
This is a multi billion pounds business and still so much inconsistancy.
Just amazing.

If that is the actual reason why Sanchez wasn’t sent off yesterday then that rule is mental and needs looking at.

It didn’t matter in the end because we won the game but on another day Sanchez goes on to save Salah’s pen and Brighton score an equaliser. That’s how big that decision could have been.

{Ed0666's Note - The most blatant red card I’ve seen in a long long long long time. Gets worse every time you see it.

I think what should happen is whenever there's a goal or offside, all 22 players on the pitch should immediately try and injure an opponent. Studs straight into the knee and stuff like that. Then we can decide who wins by who runs out of fit players first.

I mean it doesn't count if the ball's gone dead, apparently.

Ball wasn't dead when he was nearly decapitated though.

{Ed0666's Note - the ball wasn’t but I though Diaz was tho. In some countries that was attempted murder.

It was one of the most farcical decisions I've ever seen. Diaz was very lucky he wasn't seriously injured. The refs need to go, end of.

100% Ed0666, them Mexican fans weren't as violent as Sanchez.

Looking forward to Mr dermott Gallagher on sky sports ref watch 2moro just to see how he defends that satchel assault on Diaz should be interesting.

Watched him on supersport, he was on the panel covering the match and said it was nailed on red.

Ed0666, that was the most blatant red card since Kane on Robertson! And that was Atwell responsible on VAR as well!

Beyond a bloody joke now - it is either incompetence or corruption. But i guess its what you get when they are not held accountable and you have a plumb like Riley in charge!

Rant over, but still fuming as these repeated failures on the part of refs is killing the game.

YNWA.

{Ed0666's Note - I’d err on the side of corruption. Clearly Atwell has an agenda. Fu*k him we’ll win it despite him.

So hope you are right Ed.

If i performed this badly i would get the sack, so why isn't Riley and his team getting addressed? Who ultimately has responsibility for Riley here - the FA, the Premier League?

Sooner or later we will all hear of massive corruption/ betting scandals, brown envelopes to ref's etc etc. It is laughable that they have the best systems available and still manage to **** it up and no one in power can be seen or heard!
