I worked for a car hire company that did car rental for insurance companies when their customers' had had crashes and their cars were off the road.

Jo crashed his Porsche and I had to put him in a car. He couldn't speak English so I couldn't explain to him why, because of his age, the best car I could let him have was a 1.4 litre Vauxhall Astra. He wasn't happy, but I couldn't explain to him why this was the case. He just hated me.

{Ed001's Note - does the people hating you thing happen a lot?}

It doesn't Ed. I'm one of the good guys, I assure you.

{Ed001's Note - it must just be on here then! ;-)

@Moggsy It was years ago. And to be honest if Jo saw this page and had it translated, I'd like him to know that I wasn't doing it out of badness.

Actually anyone under the age of 23 were supposed to be limited to nothing more than a 1.2 engine and I seeked special permission from the insurance company to give him a better car, due to who he was. I was trying to persuade them to let me put him in a Merc or BMW, but they weren't having it, but did let me up him a class to a 1.4. I'm sure he didn't know that I'd actually done him a favour.
