Hi eds
Seen a lot of speculation about coutinho being sold. What's is your opinion on him as a player? He is seen as one of our best so I think selling him would send out that wrong message after sterling and Suarez we don't want to be seen as a selling club. However, in terms of actual play I thought firminio brought more last year and is still adapting, and coutinho was very inconsistent and if we ignore status and look purely on what he brought to the team I think 40m plus would be a good deal for us as we already have a lot of players who play best centrally so could use the money to create a more versatile squad with quality in all areas.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure who this "wrong message" is being sent to Alex but you need to understand that players are simply transient employees of a club. If one is playing well then it is natural that other clubs will be interested. And remember, Liverpool has far too many players in the squad already so if the club wants to keep adding players then space needs to be made. Earlier in the season Coutinho told three International colleagues that he would leave if Liverpool didn't make the Champions League. We will see what happens if a an offer is made.}

Key word I raja from that *if* an offer is made! Everybody jumping the gun here. Let's be fair tho all those jumping on his back! He is not an lfc fan an we are he has no ties or obligations to the club beyond his contract. He will be offered a massive move probably doubling or trebling his wages, a team that wins the league every year and challenges for the champions league every year! Really at the top of world football. Put yourself in his shoes no way you wouldn't take it. I say if he wants out then good luck to him and I wish him well. We have way to many attacking mids in his ilk anyway and firmino will probably flourish in the central role and we will have major funds to bring in a top winger like we are desperate for.

But it's like a few players who have said they would leave if we didn't make CL (Torres? ) surely they've been part of the reason why we haven't! If he wants to go and a decent, acceptable fee comes in, then sell and bring in someone who will fight for the cause! I'd rather we kept, but not against his will!
