Happy birthday to Ray Kennedy 64 today a fantastic servant to the club and a great man, he's battled parkinsons for many years and even had to sell his medals but still finds time to raise money for his charity, YNWA Ray

What a Legend.
Won the Double as a striker with Arsenal, then everything else with Liverpool as a midfielder.
Did he ever score an ordinary goal ?
There was 72 to choose from too.
Brilliant player. Great mate of Jimmy Case still.

I would add the tale about how he came to be a left-sided midfielder at Liverpool.
He was signed on the day Bill Shankly finished.
Bob Paisley looked at him in training and felt he looked a touch jaded from all the running and stick he'd taken as a target man with Arsenal.
But his left peg was sweet, great touch, control and vision.
Paisley tracked down his old headmaster from school up in the North East and found out he'd played midfield. The rest is history.
A Shankly signing and a Paisley player.
Not a bad combination eh ?
All time great.

{Ed001's Note - Paisley shows Rodgers exactly why he was great and why the man with tan will never be anything but an average manager. It is not just talent, it is taking the time to do some work, rather than spending it banging a mistress or under a sun bed or having your teeth whitened. If the orange one got off his arse and tried doing his damn job, instead of spending it in front of a mirror, we would be in a much stronger position.}

Paisley and Rodgers polar opposites , sir Bob in his cardigan and slippers quietly going about winning everything, Brendan in his designer suit preening and believing his own bollocks, if it wasn't so embarrassing it would be funny.

Ed001 - you forgot to add spending less time running his 100+ buy-to-let properties.

{Ed001's Note - little wonder he hasn't got time for watching the youth teams, especially as he has not intention of utilising the players in them unless forced to...}

Can he not just invest in an ISA like the rest of us?! In all seriousness though it just shows he doesn't give a toss about Liverpool FC or the academy.
