Hey Eds, I had a question about the potential new SD.

Obviously with managers (assuming they're in a role currently) we aren't going to know for sure until the end of the season/ summer.

But for a SD would it be possible for movement after the Jan window is closed?

Just as the role is essentially forward planning we'd obviously want someone sorted ASAP so planning can happen for the summer and beyond.

Or would it be something that likely would happen at the end of the season too? I'm not asking when a SD is likely to be appointed for us, more so is the movement often tied to seasons like with players/ staff?

Thanks for the reply, is it still a case of we'd need permission to talk to them?

Just thinking pragmatically that would mean really nobody currently in a job would be viable until at after the Jan window was shut anyway.

{Ed002's Note - If they are working for some other side then yes, as they have a contract with that club. It is unrelated to the transfer window.}

Any idea why it's proving so hard to fill this role Ed002? You could argue that Liverpool are amongst the top 10 football clubs in the world, you'd think they'd be queuing up for the post?

{Ed002's Note - The two preferred options had no interest with one option to stay where he was and the other waiting for another job. Two others are considering roles at other Premier League sides. They will get there in the end.}
