Ed2 have we made a bid for Caicedo from Brighton?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea popped out to complete the Tyler Adams transfer and Matt Law is reporting Liverpool have made some huge bid - I am not aware of it but will try and find out later - but Chelsea were ready to step away as they did now want to go over the £100M that Brighton want.}

I got excited for 5 minutes until the journos started immediately playing it down. Not actually official bid, just more meaningless buzzwords like “made contact” and “exploring” while the club still believe he prefers Chelsea.

Personal opinion, just another PR brief to make it look like we’re in for top end players we have no intention of signing. Now Bellingham has moved to another club as have to use someone else.

Eds has Liverpool under Klopp really made a bud for a player who already has not accepted to join them? Idk if there is a real bid I think Caicedo is playing with both clubs.

I hope to god we are not stupid enough to pay £100m for Caicedo. He’s not even worth half that.

@Beckers, the general opinion on this board is you just rock up and pay whatever the selling club want. Easy peasy.

Caicedo is worth £70M imo and I would love it if we signed him but I don't think we should go over £80M which it sounds like Brighton would reject anyway (they may have already rejected more than that from Chelsea) .

Lavia would be a very good signing as well so hopefully we can get him at an achievable £48M.

Tyler Adams would 100% be backup squad depth for Chelsea and he isn't good enough imo. I'm glad we aren't going for him, even if he is available for £25M.
