There's a story out there that Gerrard coming into the academy is basically a done deal but, unless I'm being dense, I haven't seen that on here. I'm all for it, get a bit of experience and then come through the ranks at Liverpool or use it as a stepping stone to the next job, either way I'm delighted.

Id love to see Stevie G back home, working with our youth, what a player to inspire them and I think we've missed the old boot room culture.

Bootroom culture has no place in today's world where respect is for everyone, even new and young players.

3.) 27 Nov 2016 15:26:46
the bootroom was unique to Liverpool fc leek, and should never have been scrapped imo.

Bullying and making yourself bigger than everything isn't bootroom though. Gerrard lived and breathed lfc, he definitely had RED blood and nobody could take that away but Gerrard did not add any kind of bootroom culture. Besides if you went back to the days of bootroom culture there would be no Klopp, LFC managers came from ex players that where bled through our system. Them days are gone.

I think Gerrard would be superb with our younger players. He has already coached one of the young teams, maybe the U16's if memory serves.
Imagine being 14/ 15/ 16 and being coached by Gerrard. He will learn from some of the other coaches at the club.
He could have used links to walk straight into management but is instead learning his trade with the youths. I think its a very smart decision all round.

{Ed001's Note - agreed.}

Spot on, Andy. He would be a great inspiration for the younger players who have idolized him through out their lives.

Its impossible to bring back the boot room culture.
It describes a collection of legendry, brilliant though humble ( bar Shanks on the humble) football people who are a huge part of our great history.
The link to the bootroom left when Kenny did.
I always thought that we lost something when Alan Hansen didn't go into management. He had a great way about him.

Hi eds, reading about Rossiter maybe leaving this summer. Can you shed any light on his situation? I thought he was one of our better prospects.

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from Rangers - that is all I can say really. I suspect a number of the "prospects" will be moved on by Klopp. It is a very large squad.}

Hey Eds, Telegraph reporting that Arsenal are looking to bid for Sterling. Have you heard anything new and, if so, any whisper of Walcott coming the other way?

muscatred

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed as far as I know. Arsenal have previously shown an interest.}

Please not Walcott!

Did not think Klopp would go for it, if Migs messes up a lot of us are going to look very stupid.

Hi Eds, the signing of Klavan seemed to be a bit of a surprise at the time but if you're correct about Sakho hindsight makes it look like he was brought in as his replacement. Is there a shred of truth in that or am I making a connection where none exists?

muscatred

{Ed002's Note - The decision regarding Sakho was taken after Klavan signed but you would think that there was some thought process involved.}
