Hello Eds, I have completely forgot about Rhys Williams. Is he seen as someone who can cover, will he be given chance in pre season? Or the decision has been taken to move on, some interested?

{Ed002's Note - Rhys Williams (CB) Will need to find a new home which will likely mean dropping down a tier. The same is true of Anderson Arroyo (RB).

1.) 23 Jun 2023 12:53:01
And phillips?

{Ed002's Note - Nat Phillips (CB) Benfica won't try again for NP in the Summer after Klopp blocked a January move - although Hertha Berlin provide an option.}

2.) 23 Jun 2023 15:33:45
Sorry if this has been asked, but has anything changed in terms of price that LFC expect to get for Nat Phillips? I can't imagine them being able to demand much for a squad player that's a year away from free agency.

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know I am afraid.}

3.) 23 Jun 2023 16:46:41
We'll end up giving him away for pittance, we should have accepted the half decent offers we were getting for him in the past but sure he was the 2nd coming of Bobby Moore.

4.) 23 Jun 2023 17:46:18
Reply to my own post ?, obviously Ali is world Class but after that what are you guys thoughts?

5.) 23 Jun 2023 19:27:20
After Ali there's Adrian and then a combination of Pitaluga and Harvey Davies. Somewhat risky because there's a big dropoff of quality after Alisson, but then it would be the same with anyone else. And I still remember the year where Adrian saved our necks for 11-12 games straight (in the EPL), when Alisson was out injured. Most people prefer to remember that one night against Atletico Madrid.

6.) 23 Jun 2023 22:04:22
I don’t really understand the criticism Adrian gets on here. Fine he’s nothing special and next to Ali most keepers look rubbish but he played brilliantly when required when he won the League and won a few penalty shootouts for us as well. Could do far worse as a third choice keeper.

7.) 24 Jun 2023 07:52:37
Williams I think may have to drop down 2 tiers to get regular football.

8.) 24 Jun 2023 07:53:29
Harvey Davies has gone out on loan for the upcoming season I think ArAy. Seems like Kelleher might not be leaving?

9.) 24 Jun 2023 10:03:15
Kelleher could get europa and cup football this season so could get a good few games if we progress far enough in them.

05 Jun 2023 13:30:53
Any news on Matip and Thiago leaving this window? Both have deals u till the end of next season.

It seems Thiago would stay and leave as a free agent and I would agree that this will be the right decision, has no big value and his experience will be good for one more year.

Matip should leave now in my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - I think time has come for Matip but I am not aware of any interest in him.}

1.) 05 Jun 2023 16:06:04
Matip is worth 8/ 9m with a year left, surely. If he and phillips go, form and injury records would suggest that we would need 2 cb's. VDV2 is nailed on by the looks of things (saw a photo of him at the ground recently), so who else?

2.) 05 Jun 2023 18:16:06
Does Phillips really need to be replaced? if we insist on having a fifth centreback would England u20's main man Quansah not be good enough?

3.) 05 Jun 2023 20:50:33
You would think so Jude.

30 Jan 2022 21:57:38
Ed, are you expecting any outgoings tomorrow?

{Ed002's Note - Every chance.}

04 Jan 2022 06:54:30
Any truth in that we have offered 10 mil for Barcelonas Dembele? He is out of contact in 6 months and I've read somewhere that we are trying to take him In January for a low price.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any "10 mil" being offered by Liverpool. I have explained about the interest.}

1.) 04 Jan 2022 09:13:53
Thank you ed2. Appreciated.

2.) 04 Jan 2022 14:33:37
£10m? Wouldn’t pay £10 for him. Didn’t he ask Barcelona for something like €800’000 a week? He’s obviously unaware of his own body of work to date if that is true. Certainly makes Salah’s demands look reasonable.

14 Aug 2021 16:32:24
I was hoping for Elliot to start but it makes sense not to rush him. Keita tho.

1.) 14 Aug 2021 19:52:15
Keita did well. I guess that will actually disappoint some folks.

{Ed0666's Note - really do you think he did? Tell me what you think he did well

2.) 14 Aug 2021 20:31:32
Walked off the pitch.

3.) 14 Aug 2021 20:51:57
Keita was awful again and offered absolutely nothing and again didn’t track back and defend and let norwhich in a few times.

4.) 14 Aug 2021 20:57:19
I’m with the Ed on this. He broke up some passages of play, but he looked lethargic in possession. Hopefully he can build a run however.

5.) 14 Aug 2021 21:37:33
He’s absolutely abysmal. He just offers absolutely nothing. Needs to be sold.

6.) 15 Aug 2021 00:11:54
Wow! Awful, seriously? He wasn’t great, but by no means awful either. He was a player that helped Us win 0-3. No more, no less. He was decent today.

{Ed0666's Note - okey dokey

7.) 15 Aug 2021 01:22:23
We want Sanches, we want Sanches (repeat after me …. )

8.) 15 Aug 2021 01:34:27
He pressed quite well. Thought he was steady and hopefully builds on the performance.

9.) 15 Aug 2021 08:05:10
I’m with Ed 66 don’t get the scores of 8 out 10 for naby just looks lazy or disinterested.

10.) 15 Aug 2021 08:19:00
I don’t think any of the starting three midfielders covered themselves in glory but Keita was solid and the best of the bunch IMO, showing some decent movement and attempts to link up play with Mane in particular.

To be fair to the starting three though, it was also an odd starting lineup as non of the them are defensively minded, we looked far better with Fabinho on the pitch. I am a bit worried by the selection choice we made first up as showed we lack options when Fabinho isn’t a starter.

11.) 15 Aug 2021 11:32:25
Sgred we have Henderson and Thiago to come back, Jones too. For me Naby wasn't great but I'd definitely like to see him forward more with a better 2 in beside him. Fab and hendo or thiago. Definitely didn't think he was lazy, only one that was trying to press in midfield. To be fair he and Ox were getting the ball too deep and having to sit deep too much because of the 3 in there. But hey they all did a job asked of them and got a comfortable 3 níl win.

12.) 15 Aug 2021 14:04:03
Well in Naby. the haters got to hate.

I really hope that Salah stays, even beyond the next season. He is a generational talent and you don't get those each year. And I am really disappointed in all that reactions from so called fans calling for the club to sell. He is a club legend, he is in our top 10 all time scorers and still at the club. I am even more confused on why are fans are so worried about finances, enjoy your hobby and stop worrying about money that are not even yours, if you can even call it a hobby anymore anyway,

1.) 03 Sep 2023 16:57:31
I don’t understand it, either, Martolfc. The only thing more stupid than actually selling him is the reasoning behind it according to some of our fans; “He’s Arabic, he’ll want to play in Saudi” (I mean, honestly…), “It’s 200m we can use to improve the squad”, “If he wants to go we can’t stop him” ?.
He’s our player and that’s all there is to it. An icon and legend of this football club.

2.) 03 Sep 2023 17:08:42
I don't see many direct calls to sell him on here TBH but to be offered £200m for a 31 year old player is something that should not be so easily dismissed given that we probably need a couple of new CBs in the next 18 months or so. That amount of money will comfortably get us 2 world class players for that position.

Just being realistic, in football legends come and go at every club - see Keegan, Souness, Rush, etc for details.

3.) 03 Sep 2023 17:18:43
I couldn't disagree more. Salah sold for silly money has the potential to be the making of LFC. Could get a good few defenders in which turn could be the catapult to winning leagues and a champions league.
We don't have the money some teams have so take it while we can and catch up with city and Arsenal.

4.) 03 Sep 2023 17:33:19
What’s your fascination with Arsenal? They had one half decent season in 10. Come on negative don’t make things up to suit your negative agenda. You have been banging on about Arsenal for 5 years and they have done nothing.

5.) 03 Sep 2023 17:42:50
Think we've already re-overtaken Arsenal.

6.) 03 Sep 2023 19:38:02
Seen a stat earlier on sky sports that someone had put on twitter.

Salah's goal today is the 1st time anyone has had a goal involvement in 10 consecutive premier league games since Salah in 2021, when he registered 15 consecutive goal involvements.

7.) 03 Sep 2023 23:08:00
Negative, Salah isn't getting sold and selling him will not be the making or remaking of LFC so miss me with the hyperbole as it is of no relevance to me, personally.

As for Arsenal, they have only beaten us twice in the league since 2015 and battered them from pillar to post for the most part during that time and them having a good several months in 8 seasons will NEVER equal to the stuff we have achieved during that period which is literally everything. Your pet club ain't a patch on us cos they ain't built like us.

02 Jul 2023 19:15:57
Elliott was missing from today's match squad. Hoping he is not injured.

1.) 02 Jul 2023 19:24:16
Due to family reasons it’s being reported.

2.) 02 Jul 2023 19:44:08
Bbc article at lunchtime already said he was away for a pre arranged family commitment. congrats to the England team for getting through.

23 Dec 2022 17:15:55
Guys I have a question. When does the tickets for champions league final go out for sale? I'm really interested to go no matter of who the finalists are. Any ideas as I have never looked into that?

16 Oct 2022 20:14:45
Does Klopp miss 3 games now, or 1?

1.) 16 Oct 2022 22:05:55
Shouldn’t have reacted that way, but I hope Taylor phones him after he watches it back, apologises, and tries to get the red card rescinded. People make mistakes, they always will, but when you do you should always own up to them and try and make amends.

2.) 16 Oct 2022 22:40:54
Klopp was red carded for his reaction. If the decision was wrong that doesn't make Klopp's reaction right.
I don't think it will be rescinded.
We didn't get the Salah foul but we got the Fabinho one that led to Foden's goal being disallowed.
No complaints from me.

3.) 16 Oct 2022 23:09:11
You’re right Rigsby it won’t be rescinded, that’s the way it all works rightly or wrongly. If I was Taylor though and I watched that back, I’d like to think that I’d apologise and try to get the ban rescinded. It wouldn’t happen, but at least I’d have tried to make amends. Just the way I see it.

4.) 17 Oct 2022 00:11:20
Deffo won't be removed. Did you guys saw that the referees declined to shake hands with Klopp?

5.) 17 Oct 2022 00:45:07
I’m answer to the original question, I think he misses one game. I might be wrong but I think you have to have done something a bit above and beyond just getting sent off to get more than a 1 game ban. Violent conduct red cards for players is 4 games so I would imagine it is the same for managers and I don’t think he what he did would class as that, silly as it was.

6.) 17 Oct 2022 01:40:57
Its not just today but salah has ben getting fouled in almost every game the same way and nothing was given almost all the time.

7.) 17 Oct 2022 07:19:57
Interesting that pep ran onto the pitch at one point and then got in Taylor’s face as he went to the monitor. Don’t recall any action taken about that though…

Klopp lost his head (which at least was a terrible decision) and got rightly sent off but let’s at least be consistent.

Also how much commentary was there last night over the Fabinho tackle. Firstly it’s a clear foul and secondly it comes straight from a city goal kick that should have been a corner anyway!

8.) 17 Oct 2022 09:50:45
Klopp prolly deserved to be off BUT seriously, Taylor as well as his linesman, were taking the mick on the play. I mean, how can anyone see what Silva did to Salah and say, "Yeah, that's legal"? I mean, just how? it's border line trolling at this point.

And here's where Taylor failed miserably, IMO. The guy says he was letting things go YET he stops the play when City were on the attack (even the City players were fuming) just to send Klopp off, make it about himself and show that he was in some way in control whereas most people watching could clearly see he had lost the plot and had NO control over the game in any way. Typical of English refs. Make everything about themselves.

9.) 17 Oct 2022 10:19:10
Hold up there now cowboys, isn't this what we have all been looking for for years? Let the game flow, ignore the 50/ 50s and stop the diving.
If Taylor had the whistle in his lips for every foul yesterday there would have been 100 free kicks. Instead he let it flow and then used VAR to cancel a goal that had a foul involved.
I know we support or team but do we want the bread buttered on both sides also?
I give the ref 9/ 10
PS Klopp agreed that he was wrong.

10.) 17 Oct 2022 10:41:17
You can let the game flow but still blow up for clear fouls polecat. You can have both in a game. Shirt pulling is and always has been a foul.

The issue with the VAR will sort it approach is the “clear and obvious” hurdle any action has to reach.

If Taylor had see the shirt pull yesterday live and decided it wasn’t enough for a foul he wouldn’t have been asked to go the monitor.

11.) 17 Oct 2022 12:01:27
Personally, I was happy with Klopp's reaction. I love to see the passion and taking up for his players. That's one thing I like about Pep as well.

12.) 18 Oct 2022 03:40:39
The managers of all clubs, not to mention players, need to be setting a much better example than they currently are. Wasn’t it the weekend just gone that all junior football matches across Merseyside were canceled because of aggression and intimidation towards officials? The type of behavior Klopp and others display bleeds into amateur football and causes the ever increasing problems within it. I thought the linesman got the decision badly wrong, but Klopp is the figurehead of our club and setting an example for everybody watching, he has to do better than that. He isn’t the only manager or player to do it, it is a collective problem with football, but it needs to be stopped. I don’t care how bad a decision is players and managers need to respect what happens, what we did instead see is petulant, childish, aggressive reactions - it’s not good enough.

01 Sep 2022 10:26:36
I've read that Arthur Melo contact with Juve ends after this season and we are looking to loan him with the option to sign him on free if he does the job. Not sure if this is correct tho. It makes sense if he does well and we expect Ox and Naby to leave next summer and possibly Milly (sadly) .

1.) 01 Sep 2022 10:56:53
Don't think his contract expires to 2025. Worth a shot talented player hopefully he stays fit.

Next few months going to be tough for all players given the schedule not just the usual injury prone ones.

2.) 01 Sep 2022 11:10:09
The caveat of “hopefully stays fit” doesn’t fill me with confidence.

3.) 01 Sep 2022 12:31:57
6Times, that applies to every single footballer on the planet.

To be successful at this age will not come if you just want to be a regular in the feist team or a starter. You need to stay fcosued, train, work hard and chances will come. Let him leave if true.
