Ed002 if I may ask?
I've seen reports linking LFC with Jeremie Frimpong this morning, now it may be lazy journalism as he Dutch and Arne has just taken over any chance if you know do we hold any legitimate interest in him? If we do could this be because Real Madrid see TAA ending up there this summer or possibly because Arne sees him more of a midfielder?
As always appreciate any response.

kjmainstreet

{Ed002's Note - Jeremie Frimpong (RB/RWB/RM/LB) Being versatile has made him attractive to Chelsea and Arsenal who will likely now have him as first choice after losing out on another. Chelsea opted for Malo Gusto and are signing a young player who will spend a year at Strasbourg but know they may need a replacement for Reece James although a move seems unlikely now. 10 years at Manchester City might be against a move to Manchester United, but they have looked. Agent is offering him around major European sides including back to Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Barcelona with the latter two having a serious interested in updating their RB position in the summer. He is HG in England but Liverpool has no interest in him - although if Alexander Arnold opts to leave he may be someone they look to.}

1.) 12 Jun 2024 12:00:49
And what would happen to Bradley? The boy is ahead of TAA as a pure defender.

{Ed002's Note - He would still be part of the squad as he is now.}

Ed002 if I may ask?
Not entirely LFC related but could potentially impact lfc next season, do you envisage Guardiola leaving city this summer? I believe his contract is running till the summer of 2025 (I may be completely wrong on this) but how likely would you say it that Guardiola leaves this summer? Or maybe even go against what I'm saying and sign a new contract with city and stay even beyond next summer?

Thanks as always.

kjmainstreet

{Ed002's Note - He has resisted a new contract so far and the plan is to leave next summer. It would be a surprise but not a shock if he walked away this summer and the club do have some thoughts on a replacement already.}

1.) 27 Apr 2024 18:01:20
Big Sam for City?!

2.) 27 Apr 2024 17:39:50
Who are they thinking to replace pep?

{Ed002's Note - This is the Liverpool page.}

3.) 28 Apr 2024 00:09:02
Michel at Girona.

4.) 28 Apr 2024 01:47:21
Apparently the list is as follows, Murfo;

Snoogy Doogie, Bob McKnob, Liam Gallagher, Bozo Texino and Bob Dobalina.

5.) 28 Apr 2024 09:16:07
Don’t forget Ken Aguero!

6.) 28 Apr 2024 11:24:49
Howard Webb?

Yeah, I went there. Sue me.

7.) 28 Apr 2024 11:55:36
Michael Oliver, Daniel Cook and Darren England are also strong candidates, Something.

8.) 28 Apr 2024 14:16:24
Don’t know many non league managers for when the points deductions come in ;) 4 points per rule break - 460 points in total - if only calsberg did rule breaking punishments!

Ed002 if I may get your opinion on the lfc managerial position?
Media seem to think Amorim seems to be slight fave as it stands, I believe you have mentioned he is 100% in the convo to take over. Can I ask if you know much about how his sporting play? I've read its a 3421/ 343 kind of formation that's pretty attacking style. Just wondering looking at the current lfc squad does it suit our current squad? I would imagine TAA and Robertson would like the freedom of more attacking slightly less defensive duties, maybe a 3 back would help an ageing vvd legs and we know konate has played a 3 back b4 with leipzig. Not sure how the midfield 2 would be with current players and then onto the front 3. I'm not entirely sure how Amorim sets up as in is it more central players or wide type of attackers? Reason I ask is if it is Amorim and I read earlier today you belive salah will still go in summer does this kind of help us replace salah. Finding a like for like is never going to happen but if it's a different position we looking at replacement then salah leaving may actually not be as bad as we fear. Bring in a left footed cb (colwil or inacio maybe) then one or 2 more depends on how he sets up who knows maybe Amorim can be the next chosen one.
Cheers mate.

kjmainstreet

{Ed002's Note - Amorin favours a different formation (343) to Klopp (433 or 4213) but with any cange there needs to be some give and take. he is a well respected coach and should fit the bill at Liverpool. The 343 approach means that one or the other full backs will play both in a midfield role and drop back. Not my area of expertise. I expect the time for Salah to go and I expect the existing targets to remain the sale. I rather doubt Colwill will be an option and Ignacio remains an option.}

1.) 01 Apr 2024 23:05:21
Mo Salah is missing way too many chances, Bowen is my choice to replace him, yes I know what his age is, but he is younger than some of the Liverpool team, and ticks a lot of boxes.

2.) 02 Apr 2024 10:25:30
Kop that, Bowen is 28 in December, he’s on a long contract, West Ham are notoriously hard to negotiate with (ask Arsenal or Man City), we would not be stump up the fee they’d be asking for (they’d want the kind of fee that they got for Rice and the kind of fee they were quoting City for pacquetta - as well as a huge up front instalment), quite frankly Bowen is not worth that kind of money, given that he’s maybe got three good years before he starts declining. If he was two or three years younger he would make sense, but there’s no long term future there. Short termism isn’t a thing we do unless there is an absolute bargain to be had (Endo) and there’s no argument that Bowen would remotely be a bargain at West Ham prices.

ED002 if I may ask,
I have seen reports today linking us with a move for Palhinha from Fulham. Has there been any sustained interest from lfc in him. I know Bayern looked odds on and probably still are but can you see lfc making a move for him or can I put this down to the.

kjmainstreet

{Ed002's Note - Joao Palhinha (DM/CM) Only moved 18 months ago and Fulham will not look to sell unless a huge offer is made and the player asks for a move. All interest except that of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and possibly Newcastle will have gone with the signing of a new contract although Manchester United and Liverpool have had a will respected ex PL and high-end independent scout watch the player on their behalf - although both have other targets. Fulham will still look to replacements as they fear the player could have his head turned by Bayern Munich or Arsenal, who see him as an option to Trindade, who Fulham are also keen on.}

1.) 11 Dec 2023 17:25:48
Palhinha to start now and help us be successful while Bajcetic develops for 2 or 3 seasons with let pressure would be ideal.

2.) 11 Dec 2023 19:30:49
I'm still hoping on thuram.

3.) 11 Dec 2023 22:30:07
Doubt we buy another 30+ cdm for big money, endo is the stop gap for baj or someone like andre to settle.

4.) 12 Dec 2023 01:07:55
I beleive in klopp. if he wants to play me there, (im rubbish) i would believe in klopp.

5.) 12 Dec 2023 07:10:13
Fulham still want over £50m for him, which is stupid money for a player who’s going to be 29 soon. He’s not got many miles left on the clock and would be a terrible signing long term. He’s not the most mobile or quick as it is and that’s not going to improve the closer he gets to 30, he’s the kind of stupid signing United make who then struggle to get rid when it doesn’t inevitably work out (see Casemiro, Verane etc) . There’s far better value for that kind of money out there.

6.) 12 Dec 2023 06:48:09
30+ Danny? Isn't Palinha 28?

7.) 12 Dec 2023 07:56:06
Don’t we want £200m for someone over the age of 30 @VV? Age is just a number.

8.) 12 Dec 2023 16:10:37
Palhinha is 29 this season. There’s no mileage in a player that will be 30 next season.

As for comparing Palhinha and Salah, that’s like comparing apples to oranges, Salah is a generational world class talent, whereas with due respect to Palhinha, he is not and never will be. And age isn’t just a number, as we found out last season, having ageing slowing midfielders is not a recipe for success. For that money we can get someone younger with some longevity, a quick fix for stupid money on players at that age is what United do. And it always fails.

9.) 12 Dec 2023 16:48:01
Palhinha is 28 but hasn’t really played that many minutes for a 28 year old. He’s played less than Trent for example. I don’t think he's someone who’ll start slowing down for quite a while yet.

10.) 12 Dec 2023 16:59:52
Bit pedantic but yea he is 29 next year and as viktor says it could be a expensive mistake in the near future, under fsg we don't have the cash to buy are way out of mistakes like other clubs sadly or it could be a good deal for a few seasons.

{Ed002's Note - perhaps Liverpool should look to their actual targets then.}

29 Nov 2023 22:28:20
Warning dislusional lfc fan message coming up.
I recently seen a few "fresh" links to lfc and mbappe over past couple days. ED002 if I may ask? Is it at all possible/ feasible we make a move for him in the summer. A recent report is saying (not that I belive it) that Madrid will probably pull out if a deal to sign him and if that the case lfc stand a good chance to making a move for him. Let's take the astronomical finances involved to do a deal out of equation for a second, do you think he would even consider lfc if finances could be sorted? Appreciate your time to read my question.

kjmainstreet

{Ed002's Note - Kylian Mbappe (S) Wants to move to Real Madrid but for them the financial outlay on the overall package could be too much this coming summer unless they can make significant space in the wage structure. There is an outside chance they will look to a deal in January and if they do they look to include a player or two in any deal. PSG would demand Rafa Marin and one of Rodrygo Goes or Vinicius Jr plus a lower fee. It would suit all parties and avoid an auction for obscene wages in the summer. Al-Hilal had a huge €300M offer rejected and the player may see it as too early for such a move, but they could offer the huge wages being demanded. Newcastle would not realistically be in a position to buy him and any interest from them can be discounted whilst their owners plan to take him directly to Saudi. Realistically, Madrid, Middle East, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, if they could clear significant wages from the books, are the only viable options although Juventus have a significant tax advantage over the other clubs, but the costs are still huge and they can be discounted. Chelsea could look to striking a deal including a player PSG are interested in but likely not going to be paying the desired wages and bonuses – but they could look for a solution. Bayern Munich have added Harry Kane and have other priorities for the summer. Manchester United could potentially move for Mbappe if the ownership issue is completed soon but for now they are concentrating on others and it is unlikely the majority owners would agree to such a financial commitment; and advice being provided to the player would be to ignore any interest from there. Manchester City have a priority to tie down Haaland and remove a clause in his contract that will allow him to leave in the summer at a fixed fee – and they know there is interest in the player – if he were to decide to leave, then Mbappe will become a consideration. I do not see Liverpool committing to such a huge cost of wages and bonuses to be able to sign Mbappe. PSG hope that the situation forces Mbappe to invoke a one year extension.}

1.) 30 Nov 2023 12:25:26
From a ex player still involved with the club so won’t name, when asked about Salah leaving if we got mega money Someone suggested mbappe as a replacement? His reply was a no he said mbappe by all accounts is a bit of a diva. Said he runs the dressing room and the team and is only interested in himself. Selfish. Sounds to me that we won’t be wanting him .

2.) 30 Nov 2023 15:52:28
Based on the feedback given, it does seem like Mbappe may not have many options if he refuses to budge on his wage demands and bonuses. I know Mbappe is a very good footballer but for teams to go all out to sign him at a very high cost, it could be financial suicide if his move does not work out well. To me, that is too big a risk for a club like Liverpool. As much as we'd love to see him wearing our jersey and playing for our club, it just doesn't seem feasible under our current owners. If he ain't coming, I hope we can kill off this rumour and focus on more realistic players.

3.) 01 Dec 2023 02:08:58
I would say don't get your hopes up!
File it under 'Bellingham'.

4.) 01 Dec 2023 11:28:06
Scouse - Mbappe could be an angel, dalglish reincarnate. we can't afford him.

5.) 01 Dec 2023 15:57:11
Faith, don’t know bout that like.

ED001 a question if you don't mind?
With continued speculation regarding Salah and a Saudi move in summer (really hope he stays but I won't lie I was kinda leaving towards taking money in summer just gone window taking age into consideration how wrong I've been proved so far because the fella looks lime he can go on for years yet) if a move materialises and we get circa of £150m do you think lfc would be looking for a like for like (genuinely don't see one) or could you imagine a shift in formation like say a natural old fashioned RW or maybe even a different scenario all together? I personally don't see us spending over 100m for a player to replace salah straight away, maybe look at defence rebuild? Anyway always appreciate your opinion.
Cheers KJ.

kjmainstreet

{Ed001's Note - I am not convinced he will be going, but if he does go I expect the money will be used to rebuild where needed. It is more likely we buy a left-sided centre-back and defensive midfielder as there is no genuine replacement out there.}

1.) 09 Nov 2023 04:03:01
You think we are going for another midfielder Ed? Wouldn't that made the midfield a little bit crowded? It would make our squad a bit unbalanced and would likely block Bajcetic progress. But on other hand, I would say we do need a world class DM to elevate our team like what Rodri did to Man City side.

{Ed001's Note - you answered your own question mate.}

2.) 09 Nov 2023 09:52:12
Mfahmee2, there is only one Rodri out there, man so to me, I am not interested in getting a Rodri-like DM or a world class DM cos they don't grow on trees. I am more interested in getting the DM we need to play the role the way the coaches want him to play it.

3.) 09 Nov 2023 12:18:17
You crack me up Oli.

A few weeks ago you said Rodri is crap and all of his scueess is down to Gundagon and whoever he plays alongside.

Couple of days ago you said we had no interest in Lavia or any DM in the summer and it was all my infactuation

today you say you would love a DM to arrive to play the role the way the coaches want him to play which is exactly what Mcallister is playing today.

Which one is you mate lol.

4.) 09 Nov 2023 21:33:11
Macca is not playing well .

{Ed025's Note - understatement of the year that KT..

08 Oct 2023 21:09:25
I think we should take the small positives out of today's game, first one being its an extra point gained compared to last season, Brighton away was a wake up call and if I remember Klopp said his worst game as LFC head coach so as small as it might seem niw its a positive. ED001 if i may ask
Endo wasn't selected today, now I get why maybe he hasn't been prvious games as I think Jones has been undroppable and I think Maca and szlobo need games together as they seem to be the go to midfield, so was curios to see who Klopp went with today, was thinking Brighton away he may go with a more let's say solid thinking player in Endo but started Eliott, hindsight a funny thing as seemed a mistake to start Elliott. I know Klopp likes to giv players time to Adjust (robbo and fab being perfect example of that) do you think that the case with Endo or does Klopp really not want to use let's say a natural 6 and persist with Maca in there? Do you think this hybrid rb role has something to do with it or do you. think we would continue with this if he was keeping his fullbacks as fullback? Love tp hear your thoughts as always. ✌️.

kjmainstreet

1.) 08 Oct 2023 21:45:57
kjmainstreet, I just watched the game and really to me, it was a game of individual mistakes on our side. Macca is too casual in his own half and gets caught out. Second goal is where Robbo non-chalantly goes to defend the ball and the whole defence freezes esp since Dunk is left alone unmarked. Those are individual/ collective mistakes.

Same happened with Brighto for both of their goals as well. We just weren't switched on in critical situations in that final quarter of an hour and we got done. Same way we punished their mistakes twice in 2 mins. What I will say is that defensively, we give up too many cheap goals mainly due to individual brain farts. That needs to change. Apart from these, a lot of positives ang several good performances today, IMO.

2.) 08 Oct 2023 22:25:44
Elliott would struggle in a championship team time to move him out.

3.) 08 Oct 2023 23:40:16
letsgo23, nope. We won't be doing that. Nice try, tho.

4.) 09 Oct 2023 05:56:28
Both sides were sloppy in possession, the press and a lack of concentration from both sets of players led to a pretty open game and while I think a draw the right result, I felt more than a little lucky as a Liverpool fan by the end, particularly after Joao pedro miss from 6 yards.
I don't think Mac works great as a DM, he has quality no doubt but feel those qualities are better served further up the pitch.
We’ll see how they approach the next game with regard that but I hope Endo can get some game time and help out in there before too long.
Shame we have two weeks of Internationals now as I won't be watching, still, Rugby World Cup gives us something to enjoy at least.

5.) 09 Oct 2023 08:33:25
A good quality scrap, and we could have again pinched the 3 points if Gravenberch's punt had been a few inches lower.
Midfield is still learning to gel, could do with some stability at DM.
Seeing definite weekly signs of improvement, and Brighton are no mugs, especially at home.
Just hope that nobody gets injured during the break.

6.) 09 Oct 2023 11:37:07
That's how I saw it, Flash. It's football. The most important thing is that we didn't lose cos that would have been worse. We are one point off City after the first quarter of the season with the most punishing schedule of games among the top 7 so lots to be happy about even tho, a lot of work still needs to be done.

7.) 10 Oct 2023 06:51:52
Endo may not be 'ready' but her certainly can't be worse than what Alexis is serving up right now.

03 Oct 2023 23:22:57
ED001if I may ask, where are you on TAA position at the min. I think Gomez played really well lately so bit unfortunately to drop him and allow TAA back in. With the unfortunate Jones missing next 3 matches (damn shame as think he been on a great run from end of last season amd carried it on this season aswel) would you think this a perfect opportunity to slot TAA in the midfield, free up Alexis a bit aswel and try this out or do you think TAA should be put back in at rb and give gravenbech or endo a run for next 3 games in midfield? Appreciate your time at Reading and responding as always mate. ?.

kjmainstreet

{Ed001's Note - he is clearly not fit yet, so I would have to say Trent needs to stay out of the line up for a bit longer. Otherwise, yes I would put him in midfield and push Mac Allister up. I certainly would not drop Gomez right now.}

1.) 04 Oct 2023 00:40:18
Gomez is not a modern day full back. He might be ok there when we are not playing a defensive midfielder but he doesn't offer enough in defence or attack to replace TAA.

2.) 04 Oct 2023 00:45:44
Good chance of that happening now Ed1, especially with jones jota and gakpo out.

{Ed001's Note - we still have Elliott and Gravenberch to fill out the midfield.}

03 Oct 2023 19:40:23
Well that was an interest listen. I'll be honest I'm not for replaying the game, if that goal goes in we would have no idea what the outcome was going to be come end of the game. While it was against Spurs it isn't actually through any fault of Spurs why that wasn't allowed so in respect of bringing the game into disrepute then replaying the game not particularly fair/ right on them in my opinion only.
What is clear for me is the process seems completely flawed, how quick they run through it all is worrying and the fact they haven't got an actual clue what they looking for (a goal and checking for offside or offside checking for goal) is ridiculous. Then once the error has been spotted the fact nothing more can be done!?!?! Now I may be wrong so wouldn't quote me 100% but did Manchester United get awarded a penalty against Brighton couple years back AFTER THE FULL TIME WHISTLE? if that's the case then nothing can be done seems a bit of a pathetic excuse. Let's hope lessons learnt (highly doubt it) and we can use this as momentum to have an absolute cracking season. YNWA.

kjmainstreet

1.) 03 Oct 2023 19:49:06
For me they panicked, they knew immediately they'd messed up but didn't want to break further protocols to add to the issue.

For me common sense would of been A, let the ref know and ask him what he wants to do. They either break protocol add time on for that little passage of play and give the goal. The image can be shown on the screens and refs told of the situation. Or B, pause play speak to the managers and advise them of the situation and it would of been down to Ange to decide if he let us walk it in.

On a side note were we told lines weren't drawn, or am i making that up?

2.) 03 Oct 2023 19:59:43
OP, I just heard the audio too. Yikes! However bad you thought this issue was, it is actually worse than you think. That was a ship show in terms of communications and protocols, whatever the protocols were. I couldn't even make out what they were checking for. Where they checking for offside? Or whether the goal should have been disallowed for offside?

The VAR guys thought it was offside. How could they have thought that? Even worse, It was the replay expert who clocked that the Diaz was onside and he was the one telling them over and over again to delay/ stop the game and then the VAR himself said he couldn't stop it which is absolutely mental. The ref on the pitch said "

So essentially, the VAR (England) decided to let a blatant injustice go ahead cos they were scared of breaking protocol? So the bigger issue here for him, was to follow protocol rather than actually do ALL it takes to get the decision right? Is that what this is? Like I said, It's worse than you think.

3.) 03 Oct 2023 20:17:37
Though out all of this the kne thing for me is sack howard webb its got worse since he took control.

4.) 03 Oct 2023 20:23:31
Same thoughts as Oli and wonder if you were the Oli in the audio? Obviously not, hahaha

But yes, only the operator seems to be doing his job and said it’s offside. The VAR ref said offside goal. The ‘comma’ was added in the caption as ‘offside, goal. ’ At best I’ll just say he is unclear. At worse, he is making a wrong call and only changes his mind after getting called out by the operator.

So, what really happened? If the operator did not pick it up, does it mean the VAR officials would have said yea, that goal was offside?

5.) 03 Oct 2023 20:31:20
Darren England needs to be removed. Simple as.

6.) 03 Oct 2023 20:51:48
Sgynwa, I wish I was the Oli in the call cos if I was, I'd be screaming,

"Stop the game!

"What Oli? "

"I said, STOP THE GAME NOW! "

lol.

7.) 03 Oct 2023 22:26:42
I thought I was you Oli. I never knew you were part of Var setup. You did your best my man but you were dealing with amatuers.

8.) 03 Oct 2023 23:56:54
Davey, what could I have done? Streak onto the pitch screaming, "Stop The Game"?

30 Sep 2023 22:24:36
We can go on about how we was "robbed" today but don't let this corruption take away the pride we should feel tonight. With 9 men we was unlucky not to come away with a point, we fought to the very end, don't let this blindside a gutsy performance. Proud of them tonight. YNWA p. s praying Gakpo injury isn't as bad as I'm reading at the min. ?.

Ed002 if I may, I understand you think a move next summer seems likey and probably best for all parties if I'm honest. My question is transfer fee. I understand he will be a year older and only 1 year left on contract but would you think lfc could still negotiate a 100m fee or close to?

Jus reading a few reports saying lfc willing to integrate manè back into first team squad if bayern don't meet our valuation. Surley this a poker game at the min to see who flinches first, we won't have signed Darwin and KEEP manè along with rest of forwards we have surley?

Cheers for response ed002, regarding manè I can't imagine lfc wanting to deal with prem clubs if was to sell him. I would pressume real Madrid have other targets aswel as barca. So would imagine would only be PSG who would be a viable option?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea - none of those clubs have a declared interest at this time.}

There no way we could know if his legs have gone as you say and his form season wasn't the only one (personally vvd was as alarming for me) but when a 40m offer as reported offered then its time to consider I think. This all pointless tho if we don't go get a suitable replacement for him now, lavia may be real deal but when I seen he hasn't played over 20 prem games that scares me to replace him with him. One of my worries with Fab going is the market seems dry for a ready made quality replacement for him.

I'm of similar ilk to above post, us lfc fans have constantly criticised Klopp for "too much loyalty" in his players and be more ruthless. Henderson was an absolute legend for this club amd the years of service he put in and what he won won't go un noticed by a lot of the supporters but as a logical point, he 33 has been on the decline for last 12 months and maybe wants a nice pay day b4 he sets off in sun with his family? I think he deserves (and by looks of it lfc do to) what he wants to do. I don't think we will make it a difficult move if he requests it and I don't think we will force him out either. Choice will be his. Unfortunately loosing a captain and a vice captain in one summer could bite us in backside, but could also be the making of one (TAA anyone) we will just have to wait and see. I just hope if reports are to be believed and we considering selling fabinho aswel that the money is invested well. Lavia looks a good player but if I'm not mistaken only has about 18 prem games under his belt. I'm not against signing him just hope we get another one with a bit more experience about them to help steady what could be a turbulent season ahead.

I take on what you have wrote regarding the midfield and I'll he honest the rate of the drop off is alarming to say the least and I can't come up with a reasonable excuse as to why. The forward line unfortunately I disagree with you on, in my opinion manè was on the decline and whilst he was scoring goals when he moved upfront last season he had seemed to have lost his spark (atleast a yard of his explosive acceleration) and the move through the middle suited him greatly and with diaz coming in cashing out on manè was in my opinion the correct thing to do. Whilst we have missed jota and more so diaz this season I still not sure the midfield would have been up to the task. As I said earlier it's alarming to say the least the drop off but I think Liverpool under Klopp work as a well oiled machine and if one part isn't upto scratch (I'm not saying for sure this is the midfield btw) then other parts look more broken than what they actually are. Anyway again like you just my humble opinion and I'm sure others will have many other more rationale opinions than me.

Not for me personally, he will want mega wages, had a stint at United that didn't turn out great (albeit could have been mismanaged) and mainly jus don't think he that good.
