Salah would leave eventually so all this "who would be his replacement" question would need to be addressed as well. Personally, I don't think there is a player out there who can match the numbers he has constantly churned out and that there isn't a like for like replacement for him. If he were to leave, I think we may need to adjust our system and play differently to what we have been used to.
If another team were to offer stupid money for him, I think it would be wise for us to consider it.

Just be careful for what you wish for mo has been excellent for us even when we’ve been rubbish he’s still scored goals . Some of his all round play has been a bit off at times but the man is never injured always gives 110% and most importantly scores goals .

Mohamed Salah is the type of player to score 20 goals and create 10 assists a season. The only players who can do that and could also see us as an improvement on their current team is Moussa Diaby at Bayer Leverkusen and Samuel Chukwueze at Villareal. Both 23 years old and just got about 15 goals and 10 assists each this season. With Jurgen Klopp coaching them and a better quality of players around them, with a bit of luck they could be able to replace Mo Salah's numbers.

For me Ron, you are of course right but now is not the time. Bajectic will need replacing too eventually. Everyone does but It's all about timing.
The team is going through a rebuild and Salah is central to managing that rebuild to ensure the team stays successful. No one is ready to take up the mantle. No one out there is good enough to come close to replacing him. Anyone close is unrealistic target or injury prone.
Salah scores 20 goals in a down season
Salah rarely gets injured
Salah assists
Salah makes space for others
Teams are scared of him
He inspires players around him just by his quality
He attracts other players to the club
He demands excellence
He looks after himself physically like very few do. It is unbelievable what he does. He will be at the top for a while yet.
The whole team didn't perform to their level this year but when I watch Salah play a bad game this season, he still has all the pace and power. It would just be a game of poor decision making. And in a bad game for him, he is still the most dangerous player on the pitch.
Yes, he will be sold some day and that will be a painful day. We will of course move on. But it 100 percent should not be this season or next season. We need him for next two seasons at least as the rest of the team/ signings get up to speed.
When Nunez is banging 40 goals a season and Doak is ready, that will be the time to think about it. This team is far from ready to contemplate losing a player like Salah.

Guys, Salah is world class, if he converted 10% more of his chances he would be 30+ goals this season, he gets the chances but is not burying them in the back of the net. Salah and Nunez are the two most wasteful strikers in the league, when they hit the target more, we will compete for top honours again, I personally don’t want Salah to go anywhere, 100mil + is still too cheap for such an established reliable goal scorer in the premier league.

I said a few weeks back that in my opinion Mo has another three, maybe fou seasons at a very high level. He seems to me to have a very strong work ethic and keeps himself in shape. He reminds me a bit of Millie in that respect.
I think he has the longevity to allow Doak and Gordon (about whom I’ve seen some promising reports about being ready for next season) to be ready to replace him.

Something red, if you have been watching us over the past 4-5 years (basically under the klopp era) you would know that when they say ‘he’s out for a couple weeks’ it’s a complete lie and the player will be out for longer, that’s one constant with Liverpool nowadays, we never get the actual accurate extent on an injury, usually when it’s worse than we think. Firmino will most likely be out for more than a couple weeks if that’s what the team has said. It’ll be announced after the transfer window as well for obvious reasons.

That’s why these next big things want to go and play at Dortmund and not Liverpool- they get to play every week. At City they stay in the reserves and get phased in. Look at Foden. Real Madrid see him as an option in midfield and his representative has made no secret that there has been interest from elsewhere including Manchester City, Spurs, Juventus and the Milanese clubs, but Milan seems a less likely destination. Borussia Dortmund will push hard for him but they have growing money issues. He would offer an outstanding solution with Wijnaldum leaving - but they may not have the necessary funds to pay in cash and will need to negotiate. Don't rule out an offer from Liverpool. We have Konate signed for centre back with VvD and Gomez due back as well so Fabinho shouldn't be needed to play centre back.
We can't sign everyone. One midfielder and one attacker and otherwise a half dozen at least will move on.

Morning! Still can’t get over that game, red card was harsh, should have been a yellow.
Gordon should have been yellow carded as should have Trent then Trent’s annoy annoyance wouldn’t have lead to him putting his arm across Gordon who dived like the Clare balding he looks like.
Anyhow, mad how we seem to be playing more as a unit with 10men.

Apparently the rules state that a red card is the right decision if Isak is deemed to have had a goalscoring opportunity. Personally I don’t think he has the ball under control so it looked a soft red to me. The fact that he lands about 4 miles away from the tackle makes it look a lot worse!
Anyway, ended up being irrelevant but the ref was awful throughout the game yesterday.

Every season we always always leave one position and hope for the best as the player wasn’t available, defence one year, midfield last year, it’s mind boggling.
The midfield and defence won’t be addressed, Lavia was wanted prior to fab and hendo leaving so realistically they should be going for Lavia plus a midfielder who has the experience of playing at the top.
Matip and gomez aren’t it anymore.
Ibou won’t play as often as we need him.
We should be going for a Casemiro type, experience and a winner.
Yes everyone goes on about Jude but he was going to play with experience.

If Thiago stays and if Lavia is signed, I can see that being it for the midfield.
On paper, this would be understandable.
Numbers-wise it works.
On the pitch however, I'm concerned about that group's durability.
Obviously Thiago is a problem. If possible, the double pivot role suits him more and is less demanding physically. Jones ability to stay fit is still uncertain, Bajetic and Ellicott are subs, Lavia, Macca and Szob appear to be starters. Trent can carry out Thiago's role for sure.
So, it looks like all bases are covered.
But throw the inevitable two or three injuries in there, and suddenly it looks paper thin to me.
Perhaps we will need luck with injuries and their timing, so that the main men are not affected together.
This is what happened when Liverpool won the PL, Klopp was able to put out the first choice XI just about every week.

I can’t understand why when we struggled before the World Cup klopp switched us to a diamond in midfield and we got results. Then after getting the results we switched back to the 433 and now we are terrible.
Any ideas?
I wouldn’t call for Klopps head ever but he’s getting our player by every manager he comes up against, and a cm from Brighton or gakpo isn’t changing that.

I don't think about formations much.
That's maybe down to my lack of football intelligence.
I know we look slow, weak and give the ball a lot though. Even someone as uneducated as myself can see that.
I do tend to defer to Brian Clough's view on formations. I can't remember a diamond formation ever winning the League.

Rigsby, Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea team played a 4-4-2 diamond with Didier and Anelka up top and win the title handily in 09/ 10 season. It is still hailed as Chelsea’s best performing teams in terms of footballing style scoring over a 100 goals. Achieved the same with AC Milan (03/ 04) including a CL win in 02/ 03 season so it can be done in the PL and elsewhere.
That bit aside and like you, I’m not football guru BUT we can all see what you have described. Formations don’t matter that much if we couldn’t be arsed to put a challenge on and win some one on one battles which Klopp said we didn’t do much vs Wolves.

Oli, I'd say Drogba and Anelka won the League playing a diamond. Along with Terry, Lampard etc.
A change in formation might help our players but what that would mean is beyond me. I've often said that I'd like to see Salah and Nunez closer together but how to do that successfully is another thing.

Klopp really has got some big decisions to make go forward! He knows better than all of us that we are no where near the levels required!
The more I think about it the move I agree with eds1 in that it’s pointless buying X player and hope it fixes everything. The problems are deeper than just adding a 100 mil + player.
The absolute lack of concentration though out the team is shocking. The constant back/ side passing dives me crazy. Not controlling games even easier games.
The only way I can see us getting back to anywhere near previous levels is Klopp taking back total control of training and if this means pep leaving or stepping back then so be it!
At the end of the day Klopp is very intelligent and knows what needs to happen.

Anyway to your point, I think we already saw Salah and Darwin play closer together vs Spurs away this season. What made it look good for the most part was that we had Bobbie knitting things in behind them as the extra man in the hole.
So when Elliott would go wide right, Salah would go central and do would Darwin from the left or Darwin would go central when Robbo it Bobbie drifted wide left. The relationship started there and that is what it looked like to me at least.

I’m not certain there will be a significant rebuild, at least as long as FSG are in charge. If we struggle to raise funds to buy players when we do have champions league money, I don’t see how we’ll do it without that revenue stream and it is going to cost a lot to fix the issues we have and far beyond what FSG will sanction, and be honest, can anyone genuinely see us getting champions league football next season the way we’re playing and with the midfield we have? No amount of belief is going to make that happen.
Personally I think we’re in for a future of midtable obscurity until we’re able to get shot of FSG and have new owners.
