Looks like Adrián is a doubt for tomorrow, 2 games in 2 keepers down.

Squizza

{Ed025's Note - its desperate squizza, i have heard you are bringing lonnie donegan in as a replacement.. :)

1.) 16 Aug 2019 12:11:18
Lonnie still catches it better than Pickford .

{Ed025's Note - thats because his old man was a dustman KK.. :)

2.) 16 Aug 2019 18:15:29

What a night what a season heroes the lot of them
Just wanted to say that Alisson has proven himself in two of the biggest games, last night and 2nd leg Vs Barca. I’m no goalkeeping expert by any means but his positioning and reading of the striker makes a lot of his saves seem easy but I’m sure they wouldn’t be quite so straightforward for other keepers
Also the confidence he gives the defence and the rest of the team if we go a goal up the team know it’s going to take something special for the opposition to get back in the game
Money well spent!

That napoli save too, we'd be out long ago without that save.

It looks mental out in Madrid today all those reds so good, we are a massive club, praying we bring it home.

Ed002 I know we don’t talk money but is it’s concern that we seem to be paying so much more in agents fees than other clubs? Is there any particular underlying reason for this or is it simply that we have paid big money for players the last 12-18 months and it goes hand in hand with that.

Squizza

{Ed002's Note - There is a reason for one enormous payment to an agent last year and another this year. But yes, for some years Liverpool have been top of the agent payment league.}

1.) 05 Apr 2019 07:58:12
It's quite shocking how much more we have paid than the club that has paid the second most.

{Ed002's Note - It was expected, as it was for the season before. But I agree it should be much better controlled.}

2.) 05 Apr 2019 09:45:46
Mr Ed002, Why should an agent be able to vary their fee depending on the deal or which club their client joins? What are the factors? It makes little sense to me that a flat percentage of the initial transfer fee would not suffice.

{Ed002's Note - The agents/representatives can charge what they want and if a club declines to pay it, they can negotiate or the player will be offered elsewhere. The fact that Liverpool has been overpaying is largely a self-inflicted wound. There are regular discussions about changing the process, and you will see a return to registered agents as a first step. You will also see a ban on agents taking fees for transfers from both club and player. Other matters are up for discussion.}

3.) 05 Apr 2019 10:16:13
Ok thanks Ed. It is strange that they have so much power, and they must or the fees wouldn’t be so astronomical relative to what they actually do.

{Ed002's Note - It is what it is - some clubs do things that force the costs up. Some agents are always plotting for the move after next.}

4.) 05 Apr 2019 09:09:38
We have gone from regular finishes in 6th 7th and 8th position to challenging for the League and the Champions league titles. We have one of the best squads in the world with at least 4 players that would walk into most teams. The improvement has been so vast so quick that I'm not surprised it took a fair wedge of cash to secure our targets. Now that we are where we want to be I agree its time to start tidying up unnecessary expenditure.

5.) 05 Apr 2019 10:48:02
For the most part it's quite a young squad as well, so a couple of quality incomings to replace the likes of Sturbridge leaving and we're set for a good few yrs I think.

6.) 05 Apr 2019 11:16:15
I don't think we should worry about this. We ask the club to spend to get top quality players (we've sold top players too) this means we ended up paying lots in agent fee.

Would you rather Klopp doesn't get his preferred transfer targets cause we refuse to pay a little more in agent fee? its like the fans are never happy, they say invest and then say why pay so much.

Also we posted record profits so it seems sustainable.

All clubs are held hostage by agents and its something that needs to be looked at by the FA or other authorities. Liverpool are just playing by the rules set for everyone.

{Ed001's Note - we should worry about it, as it suggests we are allowing ourselves to waste money we could otherwise put towards better players or invest in infrastructure.}

ED001 hope your well mate, read a comment of yours the other day that Keita doesn’t suit the 4-2-3-1 formation particularly, do you think he could maybe play as one of the two alongside Fab maybe against certain teams
Also what do you see as his best position or formation to get the best out of him
I expect him to start on Monday and can’t wait to see him explode and really announce himself as a Liverpool player, he has had some good moments in games but we are to see him really dominate a game.

Squizza

{Ed001's Note - he is too attack minded for the role. He is suited to being in front of the 2 but we have Firmino for that position.}

1.) 05 Jan 2019 16:47:47
I think he is just adjusting to our style and systems. Footballers are not known for their intellectual capacity, maybe he is struggling with that side of the game. He looked brilliant at times and I wondered if it is an injury that is keeping him out? Surprised we haven't seen more of him.

2.) 05 Jan 2019 17:23:49
As we’ve seen with Shaqiri, Ox, Gomez, Milner you can’t Pidgeon home a player in to one position and one way of playing. They are not on a computer game they are real people with an actual capacity to learn and adapt.
Strange I know but true.

3.) 05 Jan 2019 19:00:06
When we need a goal we all look to shaqiri to come off the bench and make something happen. We all thought it would be Keita but actually shaq and fab seem to have settled better.

Can anyone please answer, has Keita been injured? Is that the reason he is not playing atm?

4.) 05 Jan 2019 20:28:31
Robbie, Keita has had his injury issues this season but is not currently injured. I think he is still settling into the club and the system. Our system is not an easy one to play in as it is very intrinsic and can morph into multiple formations during games. But when Keita has played like vs Spurs, Palace and esp. vs WH and Burnley, we know how good he is and how much of an asset he would be. Let's give him some time to settle in and go from there. I mean, it took Ilkay Gundogan 6 months to grasp Klopp's suystem when he arrived at Dortmund and we all know the type of player he became for them and what he has now become. Patience, guys. All will be well.

5.) 05 Jan 2019 21:31:23
Cheers redwolf. I'm sure he will come good. Takes some longer to settle than others. Must be frustrating when you know you're as good as he is but are not getting the chance to show it.

I hope to see a hunger in him next time he plays. The same thing brought the best out of robbo, ox. It is working with fabhino.

So 32m for an impact sub . Money well spent again. I don't doubt that in the right team and system he would be a good player I just unfortunately don't think that it is with us . Hope he proves me wrong but he takes away the best qualities of firmino coutinho etc with his lack of movement.

100% mate 3 defeats in two seasons and when the ultimate goal has been achieved you can’t blame them for a drop in intensity might have got away with it against lesser teams. Champions after 30 years all that matters.

Same, they were probably all locals who live in and around the city it’s not like they were all heading out in their cars travelling the length of the country for an eye test.

For those that were around in the 70’s and 80’s glory years how did the successful teams play then? Were they a relentless machine like this team are? Did they smash a lot of the teams they faced? What was the general level of the teams in the league.
