Liverpool linked with a kid from Aberdeen and refusing to comment on Mane, no wonder Mo is stalling on signing a new contract! 🙄.

Specialk

1.) 09 May 2022 21:26:45
Mane is a great player, but for some weird reason I was never really convinced that he is that great. He slows the attack at times, many times trying to make some magic, some Hollywood pass, quick flip or back heels and almost never works. I was watching him really closely and more times than not he is choosing the wrong options. don't get me wrong im happy that we have him and I really appreciate all what he did for our team but if he would decides that he leaves and Darwin Nunez comes in, i would say that we did really good. Again no disrespect for Mane but some of his decisions just make me want to roll my eyes. And then of course there are his moments of magic, when he creates something crazy good moments out of nothing.

2.) 09 May 2022 21:33:12
Are you saying Mo doesn’t like people from Aberdeen?

3.) 09 May 2022 23:26:38
I would sell mane and go all out for nkunku of leipzig.

4.) 09 May 2022 23:51:41
Is aberdonians are to nice to dislike…. Mo we love you please stay!

5.) 10 May 2022 06:25:45
Ramsey looks a good cheap addition to our squad, we are not going to pay 40m on a backup like City.
With regards to Mane I think I would have been more open to him moving a few months ago as I thought his standard had dropped considerably but since AFCON and playing central he has upped his game.
As I said earlier with Ramsey though, we don’t seem to have the funds some clubs have and selling Mane might be a pathway to freshen up the front line again, maybe get £50-70m for him and look to sign another forward who is closer to 20 than 30.

6.) 10 May 2022 08:22:17
We won’t be getting £50-70m for Mane from Bayern. They will feel they can get deal as this summer is last year of contract or will wait until free.

The they is Mo. If he makes it clear he won’t sigh new deal but wants to stay one more year until contract ends then Klopp won’t want to lose both at same time so either Mane or Mo signs this summer or one will likely to be sold.

Whether we can afford to replace this summer is up for debate but maybe that’s why Diaz was bought as was meant to be this summer.

Personally I hope we keep as is with a new midfielder and back up right back for next season.

7.) 10 May 2022 10:18:50
We definitely won’t be getting £50-70m for Mane. £40m most.

8.) 10 May 2022 11:39:06
Mane doesn't drink alcohol and keeps himself in incredible shape. His age isn't as hard of a 30 as others out there. I figure he has at least 3 more very high performing years still. The cost of his pay raise will be far less than the cost to replace his contributions. If everyone in the attack is happy with their roles and minutes, and the requested wage increase isn't unreasonable, then I think it's a pretty easy decision to extend him.

9.) 10 May 2022 12:01:56
If Mane leaves, and it's a big if, we will receive a fee based on what the selling club value him at and what the buying club think is good value, so let's not pretend any of us know who will pay what. It wasn't that long ago a 33 year old Ronaldo moved for over €100m.

10.) 10 May 2022 16:05:24
6 months ago Mane was finished according to some on here.

11.) 10 May 2022 18:29:17
Mane has upped his game recently. being played through middle seems to be helping. can't say he's not been average when played out on the left though. He looks rejuvenated now though. That's what salah needs but we have no1 to play on right instead of him. Tried Diaz over there and that didn't work well. Jota has had a dip in form centrally too so mane has claimed that spot, especially with bobby out for time being. Thank god we got Diaz in in January I say. Or could it be Diaz has upset the rhythm who knows? . But klopp knows best. YNWA.

12.) 10 May 2022 21:17:41
OMM, he had long C.V., apparently, but his performance definitely dipped whatever the case. He's come back pretty good. Thankfully.

Although I might not agree with Jordan Henderson decision I think he has earned the right to choose.

He may not be the best player to play for the club but in my opinion the best captain we had, top class in everything he does and deserves to be remembered as a great servant.

Good luck skipper and be welcomed back by every true fan.

Specialk

1.) 27 Jul 2023 02:12:33
You don’t have to earn the right to chose. You just chose.

2.) 27 Jul 2023 06:27:14
Special K means he's earned The right to move without judgement from fans, he's won the lot so there's technically nothing left for him to win with Liverpool.

3.) 27 Jul 2023 06:39:28
I would never go myself if I was in his position, but I am glad he as gone got £12m plus add ons and got his £180k wage of the wage bill.
So perfect as with the new midfielders at the club he would have only taken playing time from the youngsters in the squad.
Now Fabinho and as much as I love all 3 off them would love Thiago to be replaced with as well midfielder sorted next 8/ 10 years thanks.

4.) 27 Jul 2023 06:54:27
It’s not that he’s moving to Saudi that people are annoyed at it’s that he was a very big spokesperson for human rights racism and the lbgt community and he’s going to a country that goes against everything he’s said that I think that is the issue . I get it I just don’t think the lad should getting slaughtered the way he is at the end of the day when your really think about it
He’s a footballer moving to another league and team for more money that’s all it is . No one is saying anything against firmino or fab did they not share the same beliefs and values as hendo? Now he’s their im almost 100% sure he’s not changed his views on anything he’s previously said but now he will have to keep them views to himself .
Not feeling sorry for him but people making out like he’s got to explain his move and apologise for it he not moved and turned racist and homophobic
Good luck hendo boss captain boss memories.

5.) 27 Jul 2023 08:20:04
Professional football player makes dubious ethical decision. This happens all the time. At least Cantona didn’t tell the media he was a pacifist before kicking a fan in the head.

6.) 27 Jul 2023 08:30:58
Excuse my cynicism, but for people annoyed at Henderson’s decision based on his previous actions, this move should remind you that your opinion and feelings probably don’t carry the weight you think they do.
I’m the cynical sort that believes a lot of the public “community support” offered by footballers is either forced upon them by executives with guilty consciences of their own, or done with the purpose of improving their public profile, possibly leading to lucrative financial offers in the future. In many cases, I don’t think the players even fully understand what they claim to support. Whatever support Henderson may have offered in the past, a huge amount of money has quickly put paid to that, which is probably a sobering thought for some.
(None of the above includes the low-key charity work the likes of Ozil, Mata and many other footballers do - that’s wonderful stuff. )

7.) 27 Jul 2023 08:32:56
We've seen our last Hendo shuffle. Trophy wise he started at the top with the CL shuffle, the last being the Charity Shield shuffle. And I loved every one of them.
A brilliant example of tenacity and refusal to let adversity overcome him, Hendo owes nobody an explanation.
Good luck to the fella, he's earned it.

8.) 27 Jul 2023 08:40:02
@Skezza, thanks for your translation of what @Specialk said, really appreciated. Although why you think Henderson, or anybody else anywhere, for that matter, should be interested in the unsolicited, judgemental (often non or ill informed ) opinions of others is beyond me.

9.) 27 Jul 2023 10:00:00
From his perspective, it was probably a life changing opportunity that could forever change the fortunes of his family. Doesn't matter whether you agree or not. He's done what he thinks is best for his situation and his family. And at the end of the day that's the only thing that matters.

10.) 27 Jul 2023 17:37:13
I agree dhfc. Most so called controversy whether it be race, religion lbqt or whatever always seems to stem from the media and there obsession for wholeness as companies and corporations now have a woke score so the more they promote any if this stuff the more lucrative deals they get etc

Just a divide and conquer tactic by the elites, keep as all arguing while they Rob us blind with cost of living crisis and all the rest of I t

Hope Henderson makes all the money in the world he deserves it for what he's done and the fact that a massive chunk of it will be going to charities and helping people.

11.) 27 Jul 2023 18:51:02
@ Grino, Im sorry mate, but i think you would do the same in his position, as would the rest of us. It's very easy to say we would take the moral high ground knowing we will never be offered the choice.

12.) 27 Jul 2023 19:36:51
Hendo has earned every single he had and has coming his way.

01 Apr 2023 16:49:01
Klopp has nothing good to say!, how about I have no idea how to sort stop this rot and it would be better if I step aside and let someone else have a go? .

Jurgen you have been fabulous for us and like most fans I wanted you to stay forever but it is now time for a change.

The players should take the brunt of the blame but you can't sell all of them (and I wouldn't shed a tear for any of them) .

Shock waves need to go through that club and unfortunately it is always the manager that pays.

Specialk

1.) 01 Apr 2023 16:53:36

Ah yes the whole squad is trash.

2.) 01 Apr 2023 17:01:48
I didn't say they were all trash just none are proving their worth.

Also I am in no way knowledgeable about football tactics but why does klopp repeatedly play with both fullbacks exposed? .

Marhez and grealish killing us today but he did nothing to prevent it.

3.) 01 Apr 2023 17:11:22
Absolutely ridiculous your calling for klopps head. He has been brilliant for LFC. What I would say though is he got this game tactically completely wrong. You have to give him next season as he knows we need to rebuild and this summer we will. A lot of deadwood will go and fresh faces will b in.

4.) 01 Apr 2023 17:16:44
You honestly believe that “none” of them have proven any worth this season? Really?

5.) 01 Apr 2023 17:17:16
30 points behind Arsenal does not make good reading.

6.) 01 Apr 2023 17:36:02
You said it yourself, you have no clue about football tactics then tried to imply that you know better than Klopp regarding the full backs.

Are you trying to say that Klopp doesn't know anything then?

7.) 01 Apr 2023 17:33:16
I thought Klopp summed it up well after the game - “I cannot explain it, I can only describe it”.

The result was predictable once the lineups were made.

KDB constantly ghosted behind Hendo, dragging Robbo and Virgil out of position where he then exploited the overload on our right hand side. Rinse and repeat.

While we keep arguing about Trent, Fabinho and Virgil, who are struggling by the way, we need to look to the tactics and question what we do in training.

Also,

We have a 40-odd performance sample that Elliott is and cannot be a midfielder in this system. He’s a forward.

We have almost 2 seasons worth of data to show Henderson’s legs have gone and his duel running and interception stats are eyewateringly poor. Yet we keep selecting him ahead of every other midfielder.

In the end, nothing has changed since the opener at Fulham. This level of performance will continue until the summer.

I don’t want Klopp gone at all but the hard truth is that he’d be in the bottom 3 PL managerial performances of the season, if there was such a table.

{Ed025's Note - i thought you did ok first half FPF but i dont know what happened in the second mate, liverpool fell to pieces and it got embarrassing once the went in front..

8.) 01 Apr 2023 17:38:01
Who has proven their worth?, Alison probably our best player this year, but his mistakes have cost us at least 3 games and directy responsible for the collapse against Real.

As for klopp, yes he has been great but everything comes to an end and if he is so good how come we get turned over the same way and he doesn't address it ? .

9.) 01 Apr 2023 17:57:01
To be honest I don’t even know where to start with that.

Ali has saved our arse so many times this year that any mistakes he has made pales into insignificance.

Who kept the score respectable at Real?

11.) 01 Apr 2023 17:52:20
Ed, pretty much the same as the 2nd half of the Real game at Anfield. We concede a soft goal and immediately give up.

{Ed025's Note - they were so condensed in the middle strolling around FPF that city had acres of room wide mate, grealish is a 1 trick pony but he put you to the sword because he had so much room and that was criminal..

20 Dec 2021 20:22:50
Apparently Kane's boot was high, that was the reason he wasn't sent off, if referee's stop finding ridiculous excuses and admit they got it wrong maybe they would earn some respect.

Everybody gets things wrong just admit it .

Specialk

{Ed014's Note - I couldn’t get my head around the fact they said Jota stopped to encourage the contact from Sanchez! Wtf they were watching I’ve no idea 🤦‍♂️

1.) 20 Dec 2021 21:54:40
If he’s in possession of the ball it’s his right to stop. Doesn’t matter if it was to initiate contact or not. It’s still up to the defender to maintain enough control not to plough into him from behind at a million miles an hour. Pathetic excuse.

2.) 20 Dec 2021 23:01:51
If the PGMOL actually focused this much energy on improving the wretched standards of PL officiating rather than on these pathetic and disgraceful explanations for their rank incompetence, we may actually get somewhere. Just a thought.

3.) 20 Dec 2021 21:27:51
Anyone that made that comment has never played the game and should not be making decisions.

4.) 20 Dec 2021 23:38:00
The referees know they can hide behind “their interpretation excuses” and there governing body will support it. Why there isn’t another independent panel reviewing all these poor decisions and questioning th standards of the refereeing is beyond me. And if there is what are they doing!

5.) 21 Dec 2021 00:01:09
Kane is a dirty player who seems to be constantly on the edge of injuring opponents, but always gets away with it, I don’t know why, perhaps because he is England’s captain, which he shouldn’t be but that’s another story. He’s a cheat and comes across as a first class jobs worth. The game should have been dead and buried within 20 odd minutes with a correct red card followed shortly by a penalty. People are raving of spurs performance and I don’t know why, they had a few clear cut chances that they missed, because Harry Kane’s lost it, all of which wouldn’t have happened if the referee wasn’t incompetent. Plus they tore through our 4th choice midfield. They still won’t finish top 4 they’re too far off Manchester United and I’d fancy Arsenal over them. Yet people act like spurs done a number on mighty red boys. They’ve improved but it didn’t really take much all things considered.

6.) 21 Dec 2021 03:13:23
They’ve now said it wasn’t acted on because Robertsons foot wasn’t planted. Utter joke, if this is their interpretation it means they can make rules up as abs when it suits them in order to mitigate their dreadful standards of refereeing. It needs a complete overhaul even with VAR assistance they’re just making things up game by game. It’s weird VAR was supposed to mean more decisions were correct, instead it seems like it’s enabled officials to pick abs choose when abs how rules are implemented.

7.) 21 Dec 2021 04:13:22
Kane is English and would always be protected. He is the darling of the country. No surprise there.

8.) 20 Dec 2021 21:55:53
Wasn’t it Emerson Royal Ed?

{Ed014's Note - yes think you’re right mate 🤦‍♂️ My bad 😂

9.) 21 Dec 2021 07:10:11
Mark clattenberg has come out and basically said the refs decision and VARS were a complete joke. Time something was done.

10.) 21 Dec 2021 07:31:06
Funny how he waited hntill he left the Premier league b4 saying that he never said anything like that when officiating in the league.

{Ed001's Note - he wasn't allowed to while employed by them, he would have lost his job.}

11.) 21 Dec 2021 07:50:04
Fair poi t as always mate.

12.) 21 Dec 2021 08:36:03
Spot on, Sailor. If Spurs were correctly punished for their illegal actions by the ref, they get absolutely battered and none of their chances and good play even happen cos they would have been hanging on for dear life with a man down and a goal down with Emerson getting a second yellow on the foul on Jota with Salah scoring the pen. See how one decision can cause a domino effect?

Spurs done a no. on us? Yeah, they wish. They can delude themselves all they want BUT the fact that with all the issues we had (playing outlet 3rd choice midfield) and with all the ref help they got, they still could have lost is stunning. There’s a reason Spurs have only beaten us once in all comps. since 2012. They can’t if their lives depended on it.

As for Kane and the excuses, I don’t get it. On one hand, they say they don’t let him get away with these things cos he’s England capt YET on the other hand, look at all the absurd excuses they are making to try to exonerate him for the bone head challenge he made. They need to decide which set of lies they want to go with cos their all over the place here.

13.) 21 Dec 2021 08:47:59
The wording goes so. ething like if it endangers the safety of an opponent then it's serious foul play and a red card must/ should be shown I'm a amateur referee and have been for years if I was being supervised and the kane incident happened in the game and I hadn't sent him off I would be marked down for it so why not Mt Tierney is it because he has a white shield on him from FIFA?

14.) 21 Dec 2021 08:49:21
Kane is being protected the same as Alan Shearer was when he kicked another player in the head right before a major international tournament many moons ago. Another "Golden Boy gets a pass because of his status" situation.
Any other player would have have seen an immediate red, been banned and fined with no appeal.

15.) 21 Dec 2021 10:37:31
It was Neil lennon shearer kicked in the head although to be fair lennon is a bad un nowadays.

Athletic porto Ac Milan, probably the toughest draw we could get!

Specialk

1.) 26 Aug 2021 18:20:21
I think you meant to say “the best” draw we could get.

We can pay atletico back, and the group stage won’t be boring like it is every other year. I’m stoked. I’ll be actually excited to watch champions league group stage.

2.) 26 Aug 2021 18:33:07
Oddly, I’m actually happy with that draw. We should be in stride by the time the Champions League draw starts. Also with our full strength team all fully fit and a number of games behind their belt for players like VVD, we should see off Porto and AC Milan. Atletico Madrid and there boring tactics will sit back and not attack much as we know. I don’t see us losing against them, draw in one of the ties maybe but a loss, no.

3.) 26 Aug 2021 18:36:20
Brilliant draw, that’s what the European cup should be about. I’m jealous of anyone that gets to go to the San Siro.

4.) 26 Aug 2021 18:51:07
Draws sound, no over long travels away, Porto and Milan definitely beatable, at least the games won't be boring,
Did they draw utd in the europa by mistake? Lol!

5.) 26 Aug 2021 19:50:23
Excellent group. When your going to Anfield you want massive games like this. It’s exactly how memorable UCL nights should be.

6.) 26 Aug 2021 20:03:24
If you get an easy group then great, easy group. If you get a hard group then you can only be pleased about it in a different way. When we weren’t in the Champions League we yearned for big nights against the likes of Milan and Atletico. Now we have them. Proving yourself against the very best is all part of what makes football so special. Let’s not worry about how difficult it may be and just enjoy the occasion.

We’ll snot them all anyway because we’re the best. Who’s ever actually heard of AC Milan lol how tinpot.

{Ed0666's Note - I couldn’t have put it any better myself!

7.) 26 Aug 2021 20:14:20
If anything over the last few seasons when we have played the so called easier opposition in the group stages we’ve not always turned up. It’s the big games with the big crowds in Europe where we are at our best.

8.) 26 Aug 2021 20:35:49
The hole point of being in the champions league is to play the best of the best and prove that we have the best players, manager and game plan and if not then so be it. We will have had 3 amazing teams visit our full ground with the best fans in the world. Bring it on I say! Can’t wait.

9.) 26 Aug 2021 20:25:57
Yeah it's kind of a brutal group. City also have a pretty horrible group lol.

10.) 26 Aug 2021 22:36:11
Nice group, that.

11.) 26 Aug 2021 22:57:08
Stadiums like the San Siri are what it’s all about. But even better is the fact that all of the cities are worth a city break to, so that’s three top class breaks in Milan, Madrid and Bruges.

{Ed0666's Note - in my opinion Bruges, Milan and Madrid in that order.

12.) 26 Aug 2021 23:45:20
Bruges?

13.) 27 Aug 2021 00:00:27
that's pretty cool. I like to see us playing the prestigious clubs in CL. lots of stories in there being matched with all 3 of these teams.

14.) 27 Aug 2021 00:12:48
3 Champions and 1 runner up unlike group A with no such heritage. It's simple win our home games and we will be through.

08 Aug 2021 19:45:31
Just got back from the game, great to see the place again changed a lot .

Seeing Harvey Elliott play today maybe we should save the money he looks good and ready to me.

Hope I'm wrong but Robbo injury looked serious maybe ankle ligaments, happened right in front of me, fingers crossed.

1.) 08 Aug 2021 20:48:06
Looked like a sprain to me. I’ve sprained my ankle many times and once you get over the initial 3 minutes of agony you’re capable of hobbling round after that. If it was ruptured he probably wouldn’t be able to walk on it at all. In any instance it’s probably 3 weeks at best and 6 weeks at worst so either way it’s probably going to be manageable. Time to see what Tsimikas can do.

The biggest question should be, why was the game restarted so quickly?, the amount of delays we get now. The ball was dead 10 sec delay was all that was needed.

We have had the explanation however weak, Time to move on.
