I saw online that the notorious black Mercedez Van with the tainted windows just pulled into Melwood. Wonder who's in it.

Klopp wins FIFA Coach Of The Year for the second year running. I guess the best manager lost, again.

Red Meister

1.) 18 Dec 2020 06:36:48
I don't think shankley or paisley were running.

2.) 18 Dec 2020 06:45:51
Well it wasn't a deserved one this time.

3.) 18 Dec 2020 07:31:10
Spot on Red Meister.

4.) 18 Dec 2020 12:35:32
Well, if it wasn't deserved, who was better? He's the coach of the team that literally ran away with the title in the best league in the World, and that by a mile.

5.) 18 Dec 2020 12:38:27
We’ve been at differences in recent weeks Red Meister but you get a thumbs from me up on this post!
Klopp clearly irritates Jose.

6.) 18 Dec 2020 14:06:48
ArAy1969

Hans-Dieter Flick. That is who was better than Klopp in 2020. Bayern won the treble and had a very long undefeated/ winning record which saw them win all their matches in the UCL as well. And he did it with a team that was 4th in the league when Kovac was sacked and replaced by him late last year.

7.) 18 Dec 2020 16:13:48
Flick didn't have a full season though, did he? Not that I think he didn't deserve it, but that may have been a reason.

Big Up to Irish Rover, for hooking a me up with the streaming website to watch the Ajax game. It was from Dutch TV so commentaries were in Dutch BUT since I am pretty fluent in Flemish 9similar to Holland's version of Dutch) here in Belgium, it was NO problem following the game.

Once again, many thanks, bro.

Red Meister

1.) 23 Oct 2020 07:35:20
Glad it worked RM 👍.

2.) 23 Oct 2020 08:01:27
Think I’m going to start streaming games. I pay a substantial fee every month for Sky sports and BT. Really looking forward to time off this weekend to watch us and the UFC and I’ve just realised that it would cost an extra £35 just to watch them. Absolutely disgraceful.

3.) 23 Oct 2020 09:46:18
It's a absolute joke JK but there are plenty of very good options out there mate. I can give you a name if you want to drop me a email mate.

4.) 23 Oct 2020 09:58:49
Barry that is very kind of you mate but I’ve already lined up a firestick this morning. Not to start telling everyone my life story and bore you but I’ve just got off the phone with Sky and they want close to £600 for me to terminate my sky, phone line and broadband with them as it’s their early termination fee apparently. When the next pick of matches comes around you can guarantee the big ones will be chosen for ppv.

{Ed002's Note - Sky are not responsible for the charges - the clubs are.}

5.) 23 Oct 2020 10:22:31
Ed002 who will be responsible for choosing the next bunch of games for PPV? Is that the tv channels or do clubs get a say. I’m betting it won’t be any Fulham, West Brom etc games. I’m more upset with the UFC PPV to be honest. The last 50 odd events have been aired on the channels that people pay monthly for. Because it’s a big fight this weekend they are now charging an extra £20 for it.

{Ed002's Note - Right now there are only three weeks to go using this agreement and the games being shown include those not picked picked up bu the broadcasters - this week West Brom/Burnley and Sheffield United/Fulham will be shown. Next week, Brighton/Newcastle, Fulham/Crystal Palace will be shown and the week after (the final week of the agreement as it stands) will see Fulham/West Brom, Aston Villa/Southampton etc.. So perhaps you should not be making any bets?

I know nothing about UFC but would ban it if I could.}

6.) 23 Oct 2020 10:58:52
Cheers for the info Ed002. But as you’ve said the current agreement ends in 3 weeks. Let’s see what the new agreement brings. Have a good weekend 👍.

{Ed002's Note - There has been a huge row over the Pay Per View games with Sky/BT telling the Premier League that the idea will never work and after Week 1 the broadcast costs were not covered and there will be no money to give back to the clubs. The clubs who objected to the price being so high - although they voted for the PPV concept - are again pushing for the games being shown at an affordable price. £2.99 is the cost that these clubs have proposed and the broadcasters say it will work at that price.}

7.) 23 Oct 2020 11:10:02
Ed002 as always mate your info is invaluable. £2.99 that would be some price that.

{Ed002's Note - Unfortunately there are clubs who will never agree to that.}

8.) 23 Oct 2020 11:35:53
2.99 would be a brilliant price range I'd pay that., just a tip with EE you can get BT sport included with your phone contract for free as a extra, then pay 8 pound a month for big screen access that's what I do.

9.) 23 Oct 2020 11:35:54
£2.99 makes sense as JK23 says £35 is way too much and encourages non social distancing - you would the UK government with those Eton educated buys would understand that but apparently they are taught privilege not common sense.

10.) 23 Oct 2020 11:51:05
At 2.99 I would watch some non LFC games as well specially at the moment with all the restrictions in place. Typical some clubs won’t agree to it, shame they couldn’t come to some sort of short term agreement to it whilst C.V. is still stopping stadiums being full.

11.) 23 Oct 2020 12:08:12
£2.99 per game so that would be say €5.00 in my neck of the woods I could definitely do that but that will probably never happen.

12.) 23 Oct 2020 12:22:59
JK I have a firestick and use the Vola sports app, you just need to Google how to do it, need another app called Downloader just, it's easy done. Flawless streams for any match. Only flaw as such, would be it gives you loads of streams for each match some of which can be a couple of mins behind the actual match, some are close though. Good stuff tbh.

13.) 23 Oct 2020 12:32:13
No doubt FSG didn't agree to it.

14.) 23 Oct 2020 15:04:41
Bill I’m in process of getting a fire stick mate 👍. I just need to try and negotiate my way out of my sky contract. I’ve emailed Messi to see if he can give me any tips on contracts and leaving them.

15.) 23 Oct 2020 18:27:01
I use a FireStick with an IPTV Service called Sports Streamz. Costs about £8 a month but you need a VPN service with it which is about £8 a month also. All the games spot on plus movie channels and PPV.
You also get shed loads of special channels for when you feel like a selfie😳.

16.) 23 Oct 2020 20:18:55
Bill vola is boss cheers.

17.) 24 Oct 2020 12:22:28
No probs lol Hailstones, my mate put me onto it and it works a treat! Only thing to be careful with is it updates at times so if you're using a firestick you would need to delete it and reinstall it (the newer version)

22 Oct 2020 12:43:18
What does everyone think of Minamino's performance when he came on?

I thought he was very good. Had a few bad touches BUT he did his job of harassing the Ajax defenders. He was on top of them, got very physical and his movement and availability was great to see. That cross he put in should have been tucked in by Gini and that would have capped off a very encouraging performance on his part.

Thoughts?

Red Meister

1.) 22 Oct 2020 13:28:56
Looked decent, I think if he gets a few goals when coming on as a sub then we might see him start a few games given how the fixtures are coming thick and fast. Thought Jota did well too.

2.) 22 Oct 2020 13:30:14
I thought he was alright. What seemed evident to me was the replacement front 3 lack the physicality of saddy Bobby and mo. They aren't famous for being physical, but all three are very strong. Stronger than they're often given credit for.

3.) 22 Oct 2020 13:42:19
Always liked the fellow, its been clear for a while now why we got him in. Will definitely be a big play for us this season.

4.) 22 Oct 2020 13:50:19
I agree - looks very keen and could be a very important season for him. Jota has also hugely impressed me since joining.

5.) 22 Oct 2020 13:52:07
Rm I thought he looked sharp mate. Klopp Described him as a machine after the game. I also thought Jota played well he looked extremely sharp and hungry which is great giving us options off the bench and to rotate in future games.

6.) 22 Oct 2020 14:05:51
Yes I like the idea of fresh energy In that forward line, I love bobby but he is going backwards in productivity even his pressing is not what it is, we should rest him and let him regain his hunger and worth in the team . Now is the time to put taki or jota in that forward position or we can alternate them 2 with salah and mane .

7.) 22 Oct 2020 16:21:15
I've thought when taki has played in prem he looked very lightweight, perhaps a little too lightweight. I was surprised to see him still very lightweight even in the champs league a competition which is a lot less physical. Makes me wonder if this is why taki hasn't had many opportunities.

8.) 22 Oct 2020 17:10:59
Minamino is improving all the time which is the main thing. He'll get a few starts for sure just to rest the front three.

Jota has been great but I just wish for a bit more directness from him sometimes. Sometimes he gets the ball and takes a second or 2 to survey the landscape before making his move whereas Salah and Mane don't give defences time to set and just start driving towards the goal. I think he should do the same because he is excellent when he does.

9.) 22 Oct 2020 18:09:13
Nevada, I disagree. Taki was winning headers and barging into defenders and making sure their headers lacked direction and rarely ever gave them time on the ball. Not sure what you mean about him being lightweight esp. for the CL.

I can agree that he is a bit behind in the PL which is normal BIUT to say he is lightweight for the CL, is wide off the mark, IMO.

10.) 22 Oct 2020 20:25:30
I like him. Still not convinced he’s set for the Bobby role.
It’s always hard to judge a player who rarely plays/ starts in the first team. If he started a game with Mane, Salah, Thiago, Trent, Robbo etc. you’d see a better player because he’d be surrounded by the elite players from the off.

11.) 22 Oct 2020 22:17:18
Klopp called jota a machine, not taki.

12.) 22 Oct 2020 22:31:18
Asked whether game-management was the reason for his early substitutions, the German replied: ‘Yeah, that’s one thing, game management is one thing, the other thing is use the power of the others.

‘You saw they were fresher, they were the hardest working. It’s a bit of a shame that Diogo didn’t score, Shaq was lively and Taki is a machine.

‘He’s everywhere, he defends like a devil and then offensively he’s really involved. Nice one-twos together with Diogo on the side where they came into the box.

13.) 22 Oct 2020 23:41:06
I agree with you, Hailstones. No player is undroppable and with the glut of games coming up, it would be hard for any player to perform at the optimum in every game.

10 Oct 2020 09:41:19
'I always say and I really think that the only reason for a defeat, is to react in the right way. You learn from it then, it is just a result. You don't learn from it then, it is a real disaster".

Fully agree.

MKS, pretty easy to grasp.

3.) 11 Oct 2020 00:09:32
Oh behave RM, I’m with you Adam, I didn’t get it straight away.

4.) 11 Oct 2020 08:55:45
Not being able to replace any player who is short on confidence and not playing well enough is a weakness to this team right?

5.) 11 Oct 2020 11:03:45
WarMachine73, I think your post is in response to another thread. Not this one.

6.) 11 Oct 2020 12:44:44
Correct. The thread above about the undroppable Bobby Dazzler.

As we celebrate King Klopp's 5th year anniversary as LFC manager, I would like all reds' supporters (Ed's included) on this great forum to pick THE game and of course victory where you said, "Ok, I think we are onto something with this guy".

I'll go first. For me, it was when we went to the Etihad and completely dismantled City 4-1 shortly after he arrived. Right there and then, I felt like we may have the manager who can get us going again. That was the day I started to believe in Klopp.

Your turn.

Red Meister

1.) 09 Oct 2020 21:38:25
Probably the Dortmund match at home. On paper, that Dortmund team should have won the Europa League that year in my opinion.

2.) 10 Oct 2020 01:05:40
The 2-2 draw against WBA.

3.) 10 Oct 2020 10:39:56
honestly, his first match vs spurs. you could see the impact straight away. we just didn't have the players or the fitness to implement his style effectively, but you could see the identity from day 1.

4.) 10 Oct 2020 19:41:12
Completely overlooked match on my part Faithinworks. Good one.

5.) 12 Oct 2020 18:22:57
For me it was the opening day 4-3 win over arsenal as he started his first full season after his first transfer window. Mane came in for that full steam counter attacks, lallana and firmino were being used to initiate his press from the front. He started showing that he cared far more about hard working reliable team players by using Milner as LB ahead of Moreno.

We had no sight of benteke, balotelli, markovic or the other players he knew wouldn't give him 100%. That was the first team I felt klopp fielded in his own mould. We were devastating in attacking relentlessly and could blow teams away but still had vulnerable times at the back which saw us as entertaining to neutrals but still needing a few seasons to get to where we needed to consistently get results for an entire season.

Mane wonder goal, coutinho 30 yard cracker, lallana arriving late in box to score, they were 3 goals that would become common in our best attacking play and source of goals in klopps first full season. We went 4-1 up and then nearly lost 3 points by letting them back in it with defensive and goalkeeper errors.

We continued like this for 18 months to 2 years before klopp made those big changes with transfers that he realised were needed after 2 seasons where he couldn't challenge in English league over 38 games with that hectic football that he first put into action against arsenal in that crazy game. The previous season we were so far away from the team he wanted so I was impressed at how much we changed that summer.

He changed so much in how the team played despite only 2 or 3 signings in his first summer and I always remember that arsenal game as when I thought i was seeing liverpool play football in a way that was directly unique to klopp at the time. Milner he rathered in LB over Moreno, wijnaldum was an attacking midfielder getting goals behind the striker, klopp changed his role dramatically, he turned lallana into a central midfielder pressing high up and used in attack as AM getting into the box non stop.

Turned firmino into a central forward instead of playing behind attackers. Mane was used wide right in a 3 man attack despite playing a different role for Southampton. He changed so many players into new roles that we never saw them as playing previously and that game showed his ideas that we've seen plenty more of since in how he improves players by using them in New ways.

AOC became a CM from a winger, mane moved to left winger, Henderson changed to play advanced instead of defensive holder. Gomez established at CB instead of FB. Trent bought in from the academy and utilised RB despite being a midfield prospect. they're the traits that klopp has as a top manager and that was the first game it became clear how he would work in building his team.

What a pleasure to look back at how he's done his job in his 5 years of managing a football team from what he inherited to what he's built since.

Redman 1, Klopp may be keen on getting Thiago than getting a CB to be 4th choice cos the first choice option of D. Carlos ain't happening. Klopp may think that Thiago is more of a priority than getting a 4th choice CB cos all else fails Nat Phillips could be promoted to 4th choice. Just a thought.

Ed25,regardless of his weaknesses, Lovs walks into your team, based on his accomplishments of shutting down some of the best CF's on the planet in Ronaldo in the CL final, Aguero in the PL several times, shut down your own Lukaku in his sleep several times, and shut down every CF that came his way in the WC including the Golden Boy Harry Kane. Comparing Lovs to Michael Keane is a slap in the face of a CL and WC finalist and I have not even begun to mention his trophy cabinet. Just facts, man.

Red Meister

Salah, I would not engage in calling people names just cos they do what I wouldn’t do or don’t think the sake as I would. If people want to be negative then that is their choice. Those who choose to be positive can counter that with their opinions. It’s what debate is all about.

ArAy1969, people are free to di what they want and that includes being so negative that you start to wonder why they bother supporting us anyway if they think we will lose every game or or that we lose so they can crow about it. Must be a sad way to support a club as successful as we have been under Klopp, IMO.
