Do Liverpool hold any interest in De Paul Eds? Thanks.

Liam158

{Ed002's Note - Rodrigo De Paul (CM) Leeds are keen but well short of Lazio's €40M asking price. Inter have spoken with Lazio but will not progress matters unless Lazio are willing to accept at least one player as part of the transaction. Juventus have enquired after De Paul as they are unable to sign their primary target but it has gone no further than that. Sevilla have shown an interest and can be discounted. I am not aware of any approach from Liverpool to Udinese and they don't appear to have a slot for him in the side.

1.) 17 Jan 2021 12:54:08
Is he part owned by Lazio or did you mean Udinese when it says Lazio ed002?

{Ed002's Note - I mean Udinese.}

2.) 17 Jan 2021 15:03:14
Thanks Ed002.

Ben Woodburn to League 1's Oxford city on loan. I think their manager is a scouser. Hopefully he can kick on and get regular first team football.

Liam158

1.) 30 Jul 2019 03:46:03
Thats it he is done now.
Such a shame as it felt he had the world under his feet a couple of seasons ago.

2.) 30 Jul 2019 05:00:21
Oxford Utd i was suppose to write.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 05:52:18
a couple of years ago he was 17. woo be the world if we are writing off a kid at 19.

4.) 30 Jul 2019 07:03:21
@akrubbish what's wrong with you? He's 19 and it's exactly the right time for him to go play a 40+ game season somewhere. Herbie Kane did great in League 1 last season for example, and Woodburn's a year younger. I hope the lad really finds his feet and kicks on into top form and wherever his future may be, I wish him all the best.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 10:39:29
Herbie Kane was exactly the same age last year going on loan to League 1 and it ended up a great loan. Now, at 20 it looks like he's going to Hull for a year and next year probably a loan in the Premier League. These players can still have a role to play in the squad in the future. Most important thing is that they are out getting games, its up to them then.

6.) 30 Jul 2019 11:34:30
Isn't that the division dele ali starred in? Good luck to the lad, still only a kid but needs to be playing men's football, he will learn a lot for playing against experienced tough men, hope he rips up the league.

7.) 30 Jul 2019 11:37:17
I meant done at liverpool.

8.) 30 Jul 2019 13:32:32
akrubbish such a negative view "he is done at liverpool" he is blooy 19 for christ sakes, shall we start writing off all players over the age of 17 who aren't regularly playing for liverpool?

9.) 30 Jul 2019 15:13:28
In fairness he went to Sheffield United last year with a Billy big balls attitude and they sent him home. Maybe a drop to league 1 would be a kick up the arse for him to push on.

10.) 30 Jul 2019 16:52:24
Where did u hear about the Billy Big Balls attitude Quigz?

11.) 30 Jul 2019 17:41:09
The move has been confirmed by Liverpool.

12.) 30 Jul 2019 18:50:45
@little naby I have a couple of friends who are Sheffield United season ticket holders that said that to me last season when the loan was terminated. That's why they said Wilder had no interest in him. No source per say but that's what was going around Sheffield at the time. By all accounts wilder takes no rubbish.

The only logical reason I would feel because the lad has the talent and Sheffield United would have been a perfect club given how Wilder plays.

13.) 30 Jul 2019 22:38:21
And herbie Kane didn't travel with the lads to any of the training camps because he's not in the plans because he's not good enough. Ben Woodburn is going the same way as Kent and Wilson and ojo before him.

14.) 31 Jul 2019 10:51:43
Jezza, Kent and Wilson haven't "gone that way". If we were a top 7 team (like when Klopp joined), they'd be considered for the first team squad. Liverpool have massively improved since then, and the standard that we require is much higher. That's the only reason. They're very good players, but just not up to it at a club eye the league and Champions League.

Also, don't write Ojo off yet. He's got another chance and I think he's going to absolutely tear it up in Scotland.

15.) 01 Aug 2019 01:28:53
I remember saying 2.5 years ago this exact situation would happen. He gets a 6 yard tap in, against lower league team in EFL cup at anfield. The next day he was all over the back pages of papers, was getting hyped by the media and us fans for weeks. He had proved nothing in our first team only that he could score a sitter! He started I remember a league game soon after away to stoke and got bullied for 45 mins before subbed at HT.

He was such a young kid who had no speciality position or role, he's now only 19 still but it always feels like he's considered a write off. I don't know much about his attitude or mentality but what we forget about Sheffield Utd last year is how good they were in championship. They were in great form and had a regular consistency. Not an easy situation for a teenage kid who's only on a 1 year loan to break into the first team.

I think Oxford is smart loan, ex red teammate Cameron brannagan will be playing alongside him which can only help, should get regular minutes and hopefully strive.

Be patient with him he's still only 19,. I've noticed this summer he seems to have filled out a bit too. A player like him who doesn't rely on pace, it can help that he has improved upper body strength and balance.

One of my mates is a Leeds fan and reckons Biesla attended the Bradford game to take a look at Ryan Kent. Do the Ed's know of any interest from leeds?

Liam158

{Ed002's Note - Leeds have an interest in Kent and Wilson after losing out on others.}

1.) 16 Jul 2019 12:17:14
To loan or buy ed? A year under Bielsa’s tutelage could
make or break their careers with us, they could learn so much that could be of benefit to us, I think.

{Ed002's Note - Right now efforts have been to sell the players - but taht can change.}

2.) 16 Jul 2019 12:40:54
Thanks Ed002. Would they be looking to buy or loan?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have been trying to sell.}

3.) 16 Jul 2019 14:04:08
I guess that shows then Ed that a Klopp doesn’t rate either player to be back up wing options for the new season. Shame really imo as they both seem decent to me. I guess it’s another sign of the youngsters not given a chance and no doubt we will splash a good few million on replacing them with a similar aged player.

{Ed002's Note - He has held on to them so he can take a look during pre-season - si we will see.}

4.) 16 Jul 2019 15:05:18
Or from watching them in training every day he has come to realise that they just simply aren't good enough.

5.) 16 Jul 2019 15:21:47
I think the big thing we don’t see is training, that is the main way they can get into his plans.

6.) 16 Jul 2019 18:34:23
I personally think Wilson and Kent should be given a chance rather than spaff good money unnecessarily on average footballers from abroad who aren’t actually better players. Otherwise, what’s the point of an academy?

7.) 16 Jul 2019 20:27:24
Surely not 6Times. We're interested in Cornet? What's your view on him?

8.) 16 Jul 2019 23:45:36
Damn right 6times, that £100m spaffed on the front three has been wasted. Just blocked Ibe, Woodburn and Kent from setting the world alight.

9.) 17 Jul 2019 00:49:08
Sorry to say this but Kent and Wilson are not good enough. Stop the romantic idea that they are the future.

10.) 17 Jul 2019 15:25:06
Kent and Wilson both good players who may do quite well in the EPL. But I think they fall a little short of LFC standard. Klopp does not blow good money on poor players . The only one of hid signings who I feel has yet to prove his worth is Keita. Hopefully this will be his big season.

11.) 18 Jul 2019 04:06:04
I think kent would suit our wide role better than Wilson, his end product is far from great though but be my first choice winger to keep if we struggle to sign a better quality wide player.

22 Aug 2017 20:34:21
Is there aný interest from Leeds for Danny ings?

Liam158

1.) 23 Aug 2017 12:22:23
A loan there would be good for all as they've just lost wood (must not make an inappropriate joke) and they play some great football at the moment so Ings could regain fitness and form playing in a footballing side!

2.) 23 Aug 2017 14:05:48
Arron Ramsey went to Cardiff for a season after his bad injury layoff. Did him the world of good. And for the record a midfielder who gets goals and can break a defence with his movement and passes ( just saying)

{Ed001's Note - Leeds losing Wood is odd as it happened just after they signed Kun T....}

3.) 23 Aug 2017 14:22:51
Further to my Ramsey comment, the lad is 26 with vast prem sexperience, is a home player, is a box to box mid who has played either wing, once scored 16 in a season ( more than couts) and made the team of the tournament at the last euros. infact he missed the game Wales got knocked out and that was huge. Ed01 has said in the past he rates the lad and because he's not a foreign player no mention on here. No way arsene would ever sell anyway, he starts when fully fit for them.

4.) 23 Aug 2017 15:35:37
if Ings is being loaned out. Surely it has to be to a premiership side. Newcastle would be good, gets used to playing with fan pressure and a top manager with high expectations, especially if in relegation battle. This would prepare him mentally

Cant see what use loaning him to championship would gain, although very competitive league and tough, it may be a little too tough for someone with his injury record.

5.) 23 Aug 2017 16:54:13
Wow Ed 001! Kun T! That's a bit close to the line 😂😂
It's a good job they didn't sign The Marseille right back Rod Fanni!

6.) 24 Aug 2017 09:53:59
RNred Ramsey is a good call as a quality player who makes things work. Not sure if Arsenal would sell or not buy considering all their troubles with other players leaving it is possible more might consider going. Hence I really hope the no to Barcelona for PC is about sending a message to potential signings that this isn't a feeder club for the top level.

19 Jul 2017 15:10:09
Heard Liverpool and Leeds have reached an agreement for Kent to go out on loan.

Liam158

1.) 19 Jul 2017 15:24:29
I thought Kent was more likely to Hull?

Or have Hull decided Ward is more important?

2.) 19 Jul 2017 15:26:06
Unlikely, he just came on against Palace.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 15:57:06
That doesn't make it unlikely Nick. He could join them on his return.

4.) 20 Jul 2017 07:12:04
Epic, if a loan deal had just been agreed why would we risk playing him? What if he got injured? That's what I was getting at.

15 more wins/ 45 more points and we claim our 19th league title!

Liam158

1.) 28 Dec 2019 00:14:13
That city squad are a good team but not looking a great team. It seems to me they have given up since we beat them. I'm sure they haven't but I think they have lost their intensity.

If they come back and win the league this season they will be a great team but that is looking really unlikely.

2.) 28 Dec 2019 08:01:45
We're winning the league and we all know it.

3.) 28 Dec 2019 08:19:42
Stop jinxing it!

4.) 28 Dec 2019 09:38:31
I’m sure we had won the league last season and the CL the season before. Let’s just stick to taking it one game at a time.

5.) 28 Dec 2019 10:48:37
You're right jk23 mate. But do you really see us losing 5 games? Or drawing, what 8 games? I can't. And conversely, do you really see city winning every game with that back 4?

I think it's fair to say we have one hand on the trophy. As we have won the first half of the season by Miles. We have fabhino to come back and we don't lose with him in the team. Tough choices for klopp. Who gets dropped: hendo? Keita? Gini? We all thought fabs injury would give keita a chance and he's getting better every game. But what about when fab comes back?

6.) 28 Dec 2019 10:50:17
I agree salah. Sometimes Liverpool fans get a lot of stick for being arrogant. But it seems to me we are the only fans that are not sure we are winning the league. It's a done deal for the pundits.

7.) 28 Dec 2019 11:35:31
Robbie never say never mate and being an LFC fan for 38 years has taught me that. It’s happened to us on both sides of the coin. We think we have won things and then fall at the final hurdle or we get counted out (Istanbul) to defy all the odds and win it. Destiny is in our hands and we would have to lose it for anyone else to win it but I can’t celebrate a 2020 premier league title win in Dec 2019. The team and squad Klopp has built is easily the best we’ve ever had in this premier league era. It’s not me being critical because let’s be honest it’s pretty hard to be critical of this club this season I just think I’m being realistic. I’ll be happy when we have both hands on the trophy and Hendo is lifting it above his head. Until then 1 hand on the trophy or every pundit saying we’ve won it means nothing.

8.) 28 Dec 2019 12:16:41
Fully agree, JK. I think what people are saying is that based on what we are watching from City currently, they do not look like a team that can win 18 out of 19 games like they did last season to win the PL by one point. They don't look like they can win the rest of their games. In fact IMO, one can see a lot more hairy days at the office for them in the near future.

As Andy Gray said, if anything the only team that can put that type of winning run together is well, Liverpool based on the evidence. Either way like you said, Don't Eat The Cheese On The Mouse Trap, Lads. We win the PL WHEN we win it and NOT a second before.

9.) 28 Dec 2019 12:31:22
Only a fool would say we are going to win it when the season is only halfway. Man C have the chance to strengthen their team next week, it’s unlikely that we won’t lose a few games, and god forbid a serious injury to VVD or the fullbacks.
Plus, I hate to say it but you were beating the same drum this time last year, Salah.
Let’s take it game by game and see where we are at the sharp end of the season.

10.) 28 Dec 2019 14:21:17
They look very vulnerable to me mate. should of replaced kompany.

11.) 28 Dec 2019 15:00:50
Guys please stop counting points and and stop celebrating before we win anything. Please don't jinks it.

12.) 28 Dec 2019 18:34:39
Nevermind this 'jinx' stuff - if I want to believe we'll win the league I will believe it and that's that. Last year is history, ignore the snowflakes robbie, this time around we'll be seeing us lift that trophy.

13.) 28 Dec 2019 20:51:51
The difference for me is that last season City were the best team in the league. It was close and they had a blip in December which allowed us to get ahead but at the start of last season you’d have said they were the best team and should win it. And they did, just.
It was the same in 2014. Although we had a great chance to win it we all knew City were a better team than us and ultimately the best team won.
This season we are the best team. We have been growing year on year and from February onwards we have matched and now bettered what City were doing.
That’s why we will win it this season. We are not relying on another team to slip up and try to steal in. We are the best team, the standard to which all other teams aspire.
Yes we will drop points it’s a long season but being as good as we are we won’t drop enough points to lose the lead we have.

28 May 2018 22:54:47
Surely the signing of fabinho spells the end of hendo? both play in similar positions. with a midfield 3 of Fabinho, Kieta and an attacking player to replace Couts. VVD as captain first game of the season?

Liam158

1.) 28 May 2018 23:06:45
What?! Did you see our bench on Saturday? So our Midfield as it stands is Hendo, Gini, Milner, Ox, Fabinho and Nabby. Can is off and so I would assume is Lallana. Why on Earth would we sell Hendo. He may have to fight for a place but we need as many quality players as possible. Surely all that has been done is Can leaving and Fabinho coming in.

2.) 28 May 2018 23:07:57
Give me strength, I wrote out a long post but I'm not even going to bother. Get behind Hendo, why should VVD be the captain? I'd have the Ox or TAA before him. But for now it's Hendo and he should get our full support.

WHY would it mean the end of Hendo? he's a great player when fit.

3.) 28 May 2018 23:08:21
What has VVD done to warrant being made captain. He is a good player and he yells a lot but he is a long way off being a leader either by example or vocally.

4.) 28 May 2018 23:15:11
so hendo still starts every game now with fabinho and keita? I didn't mean we would sell him, the point i was trying to make is would hendo keep the armband if he won't be a regular starter.

5.) 29 May 2018 00:35:05
I agree with you mate. I like hendo and don't think he should be sold but I certainly see fabinho playing the holding role we have been accustomed to seeing hendo in, whether this means hendo moving as box to box or else becoming a squad player I don't know. I still expect and want him to be our captain next season regardless of his place in squad.

6.) 29 May 2018 03:50:19
Hendo will continue as captain. Fabinho signing just means that Hendo will be rotated more often and we won't have to put up with Clyne at RB if TAA gets injured. Fabinho I see more of as a versatile first team player for midfield and fullback.

7.) 29 May 2018 08:38:20
OP, what has that got to do with anything? Hendo is capt., end of story. Whether he starts or not is irrelevant, IMO. He is the club capt. and that will NEVER change as Klopp has already addressed it during the season. And NO, Hendo is not getting sold. He may not play as much due to his heel condition BUT he will get games as Klopp rotates everyone INCLUDING the capt. And by the way, good luck with VVD being capt. Why? He does not deserve it.

Have we ever been interested in pjanic of Roma?

Liam158

{Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Great little player, would cost any club a hell lot of money. City and UTD had previous interest.

Hello Ed's, first time poster!

Not sure if you've mentioned but do you think countino and ferminho will join the tour with Brazil getting knocked out early?

Liam158

{Ed002's Note - They will need a holiday - I have no idea when they will return, perhaps during the tour.}

1.) 01 Jul 2015 18:48:02
Usually, it's 3 weeks off in such circumstances, so yeah, they should join midway during the tour.

Completely agree on Keita. He seems to be our only midfielder that is capable of picking up the ball and running with it. This is exactly what we need when the other team is defending with 11 men behind the ball and out front 3 lack movement. Keita will only improve with game time and confidence. He should of been rewarded for it against Leicester with a pen.
