Happy Saint Patrick day to you all and in particular the irish boys on this site. I'm french but living in Dublin for a while now. Just won eds, who your favourite irish player at Liverpool was? For me, either whelan or Aldridge but Lawrenson and Houghton a close call too. Is this the same nation that gave us mark Kennedy!?

Kingkev100

{Ed001's Note - i would say Aldo, though i liked McAteer just because he was a good laugh.}

1.) 17 Mar 2022 11:07:16
Cheers Kev have a good one lads ☘️.

2.) 17 Mar 2022 11:45:24
Same 2 u kev 👍. Whelan for me.

3.) 17 Mar 2022 11:49:17
Steve Finnan for me - cracking RB.

{Ed001's Note - I completely forgot about him, he was brilliant for us.}

4.) 17 Mar 2022 11:49:26
Ah go on I suppose Happy St. Patricks Day☘️🍻☘️.

5.) 17 Mar 2022 12:01:04
I thought Finnan was a great player for us.

6.) 17 Mar 2022 12:33:45
Houghton is Scottish born in Glasgow.

{Ed001's Note - he played for Ireland though, that is the point.}

7.) 17 Mar 2022 12:43:29
For me it's Whelan or finnan, although I think whelan shades it. Vastly underrated player.

8.) 17 Mar 2022 13:31:54
ed001 as a kid I loved Steve Staunton got to be one of Souness biggest mistake with Beardsley to replace them to with Dicks and Saunders.
Staunton left foot was a joy.

{Ed001's Note - Sourness acknowledged it was a mistake to sell Stan.}

9.) 17 Mar 2022 14:07:41
Whelan was quality. Pity his peak international years were with Big Jack who didn't like midfielders who could play football.

What happened with Stan's second spell here? Seemed to drop out of contention very quickly. He was only 29/ 30, so he was hardly past it.

10.) 17 Mar 2022 14:14:41
Finnan without a shadow of doubt.

{Ed0666's Note - I was partial to Jim begin myself!

11.) 17 Mar 2022 14:18:11
It was a mistake to get souness, he destroyed our team within a few months got rid of a load of good players and replaced them with rubbish, i remember a newspaper headline only a few years ago stating " it wasn't fergie who knocked us off our perch, it was souness". I will always remember it.

12.) 17 Mar 2022 15:27:52
Houghton, after scoring the goal against England in Stuttgart in '88, is the reason I actually first heard of and then started supporting Liverpool!

I was only a chap at the time obviously! So has to be Houghton for me! I was distraught when he went to Villa!

13.) 17 Mar 2022 17:33:15
Steve Heighway was pretty good for us too.

14.) 17 Mar 2022 17:35:45
Lawrenson for me. I loved Aldo but Lawro was amazing. Often overlooked these days but I think If not for injuries he would get much more recognition. My dad always says it was him who convinced Kevin Keegan to retire after giving him a good 10 yards buy still caught him and took the ball off him.

15.) 17 Mar 2022 18:11:28
It's amazing. I also forgot Finnan and Heighway. One I was gutted didn't work out was Mark Kennedy. I was excited when we signed him as we didn't really have a winger. McManaman drifted around a lot. Kennedy never got many chances and looked out if his depth when he did get them.

Here's hoping for the hendo shuffle lifting the cup today!

1.) 27 Feb 2022 13:27:40
I reckon we win 3-1. Chelsea have been better than us the twice we've played this season imo, but they haven't beat us. we playing better now than then and I think defensively as a team we will handle them, and we have more firepower.

2.) 27 Feb 2022 14:20:29
I would disagree with that Digger. We battered Chelsea for the first 20 minutes of each half in the first game but ran out of steam. It was very early in the season.
In the second game we were comfortably the better team before a worldy got them back into it. Even second half we should’ve won.

3.) 27 Feb 2022 14:58:20
I’ll take any win and I don’t do mystic Meg predictions.

El pistolero back at Anfield. press will love it.

Kingkev100

1.) 26 Aug 2021 18:06:43
Atletico are horrible to play against.

2.) 26 Aug 2021 18:11:06
Another trip to Madrid central bus station.
On the Buses starring Diego Simeone as Blakey 🙄.

3.) 26 Aug 2021 18:13:05
That group looks tough on paper. Good thing paper is easily ripped up. Bring em on.

4.) 26 Aug 2021 18:33:35
Still, some nice away trips to Milan, Madrid and Bruges. At least we’re not having to go to some god awful hole in the middle of nowhere.

{Ed0666's Note - Bruges is gorgeous, it always reminds me of that movie in which Colin Farrell plays a hitman. So funny.

5.) 26 Aug 2021 20:03:16
“In Bruges” is the movie you’re thinking of Ed!

Ironically, Colin Farrell’s character hates the place in the film!

{Ed0666's Note - that’s right mate what a movie. The ending blew me away literally and figuratively! Was it Ralph Fienes? Didn’t expect that ending. Seriously recommend the movie to those who haven’t seen it.

6.) 26 Aug 2021 20:14:41
Yes Ed, Ralph Fiennes and Brendan Gleeson too. One of the best black comedies of all time and that ending as you said…crazy! 100% recommended.

{Ed0666's Note - Gleason was so dark and dead pan incredible performance 😂

7.) 26 Aug 2021 21:20:17
If you guys liked that movie there are a few lesser known titles similar with that same Irish buzz/ feel. Try out “intermission” “Perrier’s bounty” and “I went down”. Just a thought.

8.) 26 Aug 2021 20:23:15
Ed0666s seen this movie many times one of my favorites. Good taste mate.

{Ed0666's Note - 👍👍👍

9.) 26 Aug 2021 20:42:45
Were you the dwarf Ed0666?

{Ed0666's Note - you are a funny boy Bazza 😂

10.) 26 Aug 2021 23:42:20
You know it brother😉.

14 Aug 2021 20:08:38
Was listening to rtl radio in France this evening. Their journos seem to think that mbappe to Liverpool is on. . Great opening win this evening. Who won the league last time Liverpool beat Norwich on opening day of season. just asking! Greetings to all reds from lyon, France!

Kingkev100

{Ed0666's Note - really they actually said Mbappe is going to Liverpool? How the heck are we too afford him? I’m sure the 6 million we’ve been offered for Shaquiri won’t cover his football boots. The only way that transfer is gonna happen is if Salah goes the other way and if that was the case he wouldn’t have played today. I’m 99% certain we ain’t gonna get Mbappe. I honestly don’t want him either as I wouldn’t swap Salah in a million years.

1.) 14 Aug 2021 20:25:06
Totally agree ed0666. I think it's pure speculation and rumours they were going by. I know we could never afford him but I was smirking that such a world class calibre player was being linked with us. It won't happen, but nice to think it could. Thanks for your quick reply ed0666. Great win tonight.

{Ed0666's Note - no worries brother. Who wouldn’t want to play for Liverpool? We are a special club with special fans and a super special leader. Yes was a great win mate I’ll take it

2.) 14 Aug 2021 22:29:32
Ed0666 speaking about jurnos on the radio. A certain jurno with a sports background said that Liverpool would miss/ regret losing Gini in midfield"as he was the legs of Liverpool's midfield for the past two seasons"I kid you not.

{Ed0666's Note - pray tell who was that bazza lol

3.) 14 Aug 2021 23:53:08
Buy me a dress that fits properly and I'll tell ya😉.

{Ed0666's Note- seeing as we won today qIll treat ya honeybunny Premark or Tj Max….? And I’ll even let you keep the reciept so you can get a refund after you’ve worn it for me…who says romance is dead hey??

4.) 15 Aug 2021 00:40:31
Not going to happen. Mbappe will never play for us.

5.) 15 Aug 2021 00:35:56
Awh stop I'm blushing here Ed0666😚.

{Ed0666's Note - gushing or blushing sweet cheeks?

6.) 15 Aug 2021 01:24:43
Blushing for now🥰.

{Ed0666's Note - have a good weekend mate and don’t think of me too much, it’s not good for you’re emotional well-being. Can’t wait for Burnley

7.) 15 Aug 2021 05:52:12
Everyone loves a gusher lol.

Hi eds. Just wondering who of the young fringe players do you think will make the most first team appearances this new season? I don't mean origi or shaq or that vintage of fringe players but those training with first team right now or from u23s. Thanks for your time.

Kingkev100

{Ed001's Note - it is really impossible to say, as it will almost certainly be about who gets injured and leaves gaps for them to fill. Clarkson does look to be the one closest right now, but there is every chance a signing comes in and pushes him out of the picture or he goes out on loan.}

1.) 03 Aug 2021 10:34:17
I actually think kaide Gordon looks like he could come on in last 20 mins of a Premier league game and cause problems and he will fill out and get stronger over the coming seasons he is going to be a player .

2.) 03 Aug 2021 10:38:08
Does anyone know how Layton Stewart was getting on before his injury?

I know he was banging them in and signed a new contract in May, but is he still seen as having the potential to make it with us?

3.) 03 Aug 2021 14:03:06
He had his surgery a month or so ago which went well. No timeline has been set up for him.

Except for the fact that he's useless, injury prone and no pace. Just his agent trying to russle up interest for either a new contract or selling him to some gullible club like gala or besiktas. He's an appalling player with a miserable injury record.

That young lad, Nathan Collins of Burnley looks quite good every time I've seen him play. Rb or cb position. A very good option for a very promising player.

It is the hope that kills. Newcastle, however , are a team that any local pub team full of drunks and pi$$heads could beat every day of the week. They are a soulless, prideless and gutless excuse of a team. they have no ambition or talent. They are an embarrassing waste of space. City could beat them by 9 goals if They want.
The league is over for us. We will loose to villa on Tuesday too. I couldn't care less about fa cup or champions league. It is the premier league or bust, and thanks to taa and salahs terrible performances yesterday, it is bust for us for yet another year.

In my opinion, ever since we won the title two years ago now, mane has been abysmal by his standards. He has kost pace, aggressive play and ability to freely score goals. A real shadow of the class player he WAS. I posted yesterday on how furious I was on last nights defeat and I still am. Do these players not care about winning the league. Such a putrid, leaderless, weak, lack of grit effort to win a game and stay in the league contention. If souness or Hanson in that team, then we would have won. That game was there for the taking and we needed someone to give everyone else a right rollicking to win the match. its our achilles heal. If salah plays terrible, then we can't find a way to win. Look at our performance v city, spurs, whu, Leicester, Chelsea, Brentford. no aggressive winners in our team when salah has an off day. A shame we out of the league already. Chelsea will smash us next and we are hung on to finishing fourth. I thought the players wanted it as much as the fans do, but looking at mane, jota and ox last night, they couldn't care less.

Ronaldo returning to them is like when fowler returned home to us. Nostalgic, romantic and nice for them. But, a gamble all the same too. Unbalance the team, get injured or take the place of another player who did fit into the team play. Personally, I couldn't care less about who they have. We have vvd, jg jm and taa back and fab back in midfield not to mention salah and mo up front. That's a league winning team right there. Ronaldo is injury prone and not quite as good as he was with them or real Madrid. Great player but give me mo any day.

Kingkev100

{Ed0666's Note - Ronaldo is not a normal human being or football player. The guy is a phenom athelitically. I’ve literally with my own eyes sees how he works out in the off season before pre-season training, his age 36 years of age means nothing. The guy will strengthen them there is no doubt about it. He could have the Cantona effect on them but I hope not.
