Huge game today, Brighton are one of the teams looking to sneak in to that Europa Conference place ahead of us so 3 points is essential.

1.) 14 Jan 2023 09:10:46
The battle of the Europa Conference ha. I am just hoping for once Klopp swallows his pride and keeps the game tight. If we keep doing the same thing every week our league position won’t improve.

2.) 14 Jan 2023 09:32:43
There are literally millions of genuine football fans who would love to play in the Europa Conference.

Your lack of empathy, condescension and sense of entitlement marks you out as a truly special type of fan. Your disregard or unawareness of context for the club, the game in general and for all the fans who turn up week in, week out year after year without any chance of winning leagues and trophies but show up faithfully because they support their team through thick and thin is staggering

Anyway, who cares, do you think we will buy a midfielder soon?

3.) 14 Jan 2023 09:46:21
Just because you support the team it doesn't mean you have to like the Europa Conference League. The reality is it's a bad season for some teams and a good season for others if they are in the competition.

4.) 14 Jan 2023 10:08:18
The many ways to contort yourself to be the best football supporter. A book co-written by WDW, Flash and Rigsby

~ a masterpiece in the art of contortion
~ a gamechanger for new age fickle fans
~ the Top Red bible.

5.) 14 Jan 2023 10:38:53
Yes. I’m sure every fan dreams of Thursday night trips to Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan.

{Ed001's Note - I would put money on it Tranmere, Stockport, Bolton, Charlton and many other fans do.}

6.) 14 Jan 2023 10:39:26
Not at all @FPF, I’m more than happy to discuss footy in either a serious or light hearted manner to the best of my ability. However, if anybody is ‘talking soft’ as we used to say, then I am more than happy to say so.

I don’t profess to be a better supporter than anybody and I’m happy to admit that I know very little about setting up a team or what tactics should be used against opposition with different styles of play.

What I do know is that I love watching Football played well, especially if it’s us, but I hope I’m mature enough to know that can’t always be the case. When we are playing badly I hope I can offer constructive criticism but it is getting harder as the level of entitlement and lack of empathy and appreciation of context being shown (like in the contribution to this thread made, in the case by @Markp) by an increasing number of fans is just unwarranted.

7.) 14 Jan 2023 11:03:39
If you don't like something, you're entitled to keep whining about it a la Veruca Salt.
But don't make things up so you can have a whine. It means I have to keep correcting you.
I can live with some fans not handling conflicting emotions but I don't like lies.

8.) 14 Jan 2023 11:52:04
I only saw Markp try to say that Klopp needs to stop being stubborn and play a more compact approach else we’ll continue to underachieve. It’s an opinion. And not a bizarre one either. It’s also trying to be constructive.

The subtle dig at Europa Conference might be entitlement if you overanalyse it, but to argue that is as much of an overreaction as the other things being pointed out.

I too like watching football. We are not a good watch this season - bar the odd 10 mins. The approach, decision making and the fact that we’ve had multiple breaks to fix it without success so far is understandably causing the alarm. It’s ok to feel that way without being accused of slagging off or disloyalty.

9.) 14 Jan 2023 13:24:57
Quick question just to see everyone's thoughts. No CL football next season or anymore signings this window but FSG have sold the club and we've plenty of money in the summer or a player or 2 comes in this window, we sort the form out and get CL football and FSG are still owners after the summer window? No right or wrong answer, just curious.

10.) 14 Jan 2023 16:32:18
Oh mane, I’d rather we buy a couple of decent midfield players, sort our form out and get champions league football, having the same owners in place. For a team like us, champions league football is vital as it’s provides much wanted revenue for the club and is also a big selling point when trying to convince top players to join us.

12 Dec 2022 14:22:21
With only Ibu left at the World Cup from our squad I think the team to play City on the 22nd will be as strong as we can muster. Ali, Robbo, VvD, Gomez, Trent, Fab, Thiago, Elliott, Mo, Nunez, Bobby. All are back with the squad now and will have had time to wind down and train before next week. Its not like they will have a three week break like if the World Cup was in the summer before training, as this time of year they would be playing twice a week any way. don't mess around, as strong as possible as fast ans possible. City for sure will be playing as many of thier big guns as they can. Baring in mind the biggest gun of them all wasn't even at the World Cup.

1.) 12 Dec 2022 14:47:53
I reckon we play a strong line-up, not because it's City, but because it will be seen as a rhythm builder for the league games. Otherwise it would be 10 days between Milan and Villa.

We saw what the postponement of the Leeds game did for our Leicester away performance last season. Too many mince pies in between. :D.

2.) 12 Dec 2022 19:06:12
Only one of those is back with the squad and that's Nunez.

3.) 12 Dec 2022 19:46:29
Matip the obvious choice before Gomez, otherwise agree.

4.) 12 Dec 2022 21:05:49
All lads that were knocked out at the weekend are getting a week off before returning to training. Whether that leaves their participation in the City tie in doubt remains to be seen.

5.) 13 Dec 2022 08:45:39
Klopp is the ultimate pragmatist where the cups are concerned.
I don’t think he’ll go full monty against Man City, not with a tough league schedule over Xmas coming up.
Too many injuries also.

6.) 13 Dec 2022 16:52:43
Don't think hendo needs any training he should be up to speed now. Personally thought he was quality for England.

04 Dec 2022 19:44:56
Jude and Hendo, match made in heaven.

1.) 04 Dec 2022 19:59:39
Would love to see him in an LFC shirt.

2.) 04 Dec 2022 20:36:24
Jude off, over to the bench and move a load of stuff so he could sit next to Trent. Ah lads/ ladies it's the hope that kills.

3.) 04 Dec 2022 21:30:56
What was all that head bucking stuff. Both were the best players for England tonight. Hendo has been great since he returned to first 11.

4.) 04 Dec 2022 22:46:34
Can't help feeling that was a passing of the torch moment with Bellingham/ Hendo or maybe I'm overreacting again like that time in Tesco's over the club card points ?.

5.) 05 Dec 2022 00:41:33
Oh god what i would give to see that happen in a red shirt????.

6.) 05 Dec 2022 04:37:11
The ‘Bellingham is nothing special’ crowd are quiet tonight.

7.) 05 Dec 2022 05:22:38
Lmao OMM.
Liverpool would certainly be a great fit for Bellingham, and him for us.
Can’t say more than that but the lad will have his choice of destination.
Shout out to El Capitan Henderson also.

8.) 05 Dec 2022 05:27:08
He’s nothing special
Just bloody good ?.

9.) 05 Dec 2022 09:20:01
Vermiculo, there was that moment, the Trent and Bellingham picture, the Bellingham sitting next to Trent on the bench. I am all for building up hope and expectations of him joining as every little helps.

10.) 05 Dec 2022 10:40:55
Well done Hendo …. Brilliant last night!
Jude Bellingham has got to join him at Liverpool ?? Come on England ???????.

11.) 05 Dec 2022 11:29:32
I'm not sure how building up hope and expectations helps with the actual signing, good luck to you with that one!

12.) 05 Dec 2022 12:29:43
Defo the future captain of LFC.

13.) 05 Dec 2022 15:17:28
What is everyone's opinion on Rice?

I'm normally quite definitive on players after watching for some time, but I can't with him. He does an excellent job at what he is currently doing, but I'm sure there is a worldie of a centre back in there.

01 Dec 2022 20:12:18
I'll get me coat. Haha.

1.) 02 Dec 2022 19:14:02
@K - normally people include the poor joke first ?.

12 Nov 2022 12:41:32
So after today I have a 5 week break from football. can't wait for it to resume again on 20th December against City. After the break from football we should be able to field a strong team for that game . Kelleher, Tsimkas, Ramsey, Matip, Phillips, Gomez, Milner, Thiago, Elliott, Carvalho, Ox, Mo, Bobby should all be really fresh and ready to go. Maybe even Diaz if he recovers better than expected. can't wait to get these 5 weeks out the way and get back to football after today. A good win before the break against Southampton then on to City.

1.) 12 Nov 2022 13:28:42
Liverpool to win 3-0 today ??.

{Ed014's Note - 1-4 Saints ??

2.) 12 Nov 2022 14:01:36
I’m gutted that the season breaks today but I’ll still end up watching games during the World Cup. No country has boycotted it and neither has any players.

Me choosing not to watch it in protest and then paying £80 a week to put fuel in my car is quite contradicting.

3.) 12 Nov 2022 13:36:29
Liverpool Banter meltdown incoming Ed14, if your prediction comes true. ?.

{Ed014's Note - ?? don’t worry mate my predictions are hopeless!

4.) 12 Nov 2022 14:14:07
One assumes since we only 7 players at the World Cup, we'll play a few friendlies in the next few weeks.

Or are we not allowed?

5.) 12 Nov 2022 14:27:34
Can’t think that we wouldn’t be able to play some friendly matches to keep some fitness. As long as it’s not Strasbourg we’ll be ok.

{Ed001's Note - aren't we off to Dubai for a training camp?}

6.) 12 Nov 2022 14:38:46
I believe there are friendlies arranged against Lyon and AC Milan.

7.) 12 Nov 2022 14:59:44
We are Ed. Can’t see the point, given we we come back the weather will be crap. Surely two weeks training in Stoke or Burnley would be better prep? They’re not as glam, I’ll grant you, but better prep for a cold evening in January.

{Ed001's Note - they seem to think it helps, but considering how bad we have been in the past after a warm weather training camp, I am not convinced.}

8.) 12 Nov 2022 16:46:14
Two weeks in Skeggy, egg and chips and multiple pints of ale, all topped off with 20 Benson's. Who says the 80's were not great.

9.) 12 Nov 2022 17:07:58
Jolly boys outing or was that Margate not skeggy?

10.) 12 Nov 2022 17:08:23
That’d sort them out spaceman.

If JK hadn't spent two months sulking because Tchuomani (? Spelling) didn't want to come and actually realise we needed more midfielders before he did we wouldn't have ended up with a player with a shocking injury record. Its a joke.

I applied for a 4 billion loan, my bank said no. Apparently something to do with " stop wasting our time". Shame as I would have been an aswome owner .

I guess it depends on what he's betting on. If he's betting on himself to score then there's no issue as he will be trying to win. If he's betting on games he's not involved in that shouldn't be an issue surely as he can't affect the outcome. If he's betting on his team to loose or him to miss a penalty etc then there's a real issue .

I think the fact if Argentina got to the final it would be Messi's 1000th game is a bit of an omen. Im going Argentina.
